Ive not owned a bike since I was 16 and im 63 now..The amount of tech and race build quality in a bike like this is mindblowing...I didnt even know these were being made till I saw a youtube video and a guy was driving this cool little machine.. These look like works bikes from previous eras...Imagine, in the time of the xr75, if a bike like this suddenly appeared amidst that time period..people would have been speechless.. 24 hp is very decent in this sized bike and weight.. to put that in perspective, the 1973 cr125 elsinore 2 stroke, a pure race bike of the time and one that set the world on its ear because in terms of power, abt 22 hp, handling and weight abt 180lbs, nothing could touch it...This crf actuall has More hp and almost identical weight and vastly superior suspension...Granted Alot of yrs have passed but its amazing that such tech and build quality has become available to the consumer

Honda should look into updating this since kids now days have to ride a 250f if they wants to compete. Going from an 85 or even a 125 to a 250f is soooooo different from what their used to. I do know 1 thing I'd love to own a Crf 150rb my nephew has one and that Thing is a blast , my main bike Is a pumped XR 650L. One I went to visit my nease and the nephew got a new CRF 150 rb , that day I got my XR , and was "FORST" to ride the 150 thay almost didn't get it back, I just rode my XR, 70 Miles to get there , With a 5 min rest got on that 150 and couldn't get off Of it the rest of the day, Heck I'm 62 years old, and that was most fun I've had in at least 10 years I've been riding Honda 4 strokes from over 50 years and I've got to have 1. I just bought a 2009 to ride with my son. I would highly recommend you get one. I’m 48, 5’8”, 190 lbs. I love it. It rips plenty, and is much easier for me to throw around than a big frame bike. Plus my boy can move into it when he outgrows his KX65. Your story reminded me of my XR80 when I was a kid.

@@litowid I don't know what your two wheel experience is, but I don't usually recommend a 150r as a first bike. It's meant for the track, and doesn't have a fan to keep it cool when you stop moving. If you ride a bicycle around and push limits(I rode BMX at your age), then you could learn to control a 150r. You just need to respect the machine, and know it can hurt you if you get things really wrong. Getting some basic moto gear first is always recommended. Minimum a good helmet, boots, and gloves. Personally I would recommend an air cooled trail style bike to start on. Learn to ride it, handle a clutch and shifting gears, then you are better prepared for something like a 150r. I had a lot of street riding motorcycle experience on my R6 before getting my 150r, so it wasn't my "first" bike, but just my first dirt bike

UPDATE: Grandson earned (grades, attitude, skills) a 2024 crf150rb. This baby 250 is a BEAST! We swapped the 38 pilot jet with a 42 for easier starts. She's still a bit choppy so looking at Tokyomods full jet kit & fuel meter screw. Great investment. He'll be on this bike for a while. Great review! Thanks for the schooling. Grandson is currently racing a '22 crf110f that we pimped out. I'm thinking 150r when he moves up rather than the 125. Hey, if it ain't broke... right? I'm all about "built like a tank" especially, something that's gonna be thrashed & crashed. ✌️from Galveston County, TX #braplife

My daughter got a 2023 CRF 125 FB and she already wants to start modding it. She’s rode horses all her life at a competition level for over 10 years, so going over the handlers on this (Which she has) is nothing compared to a horse (Which she has many times). I didn’t know how much she’d like it but after 2 tanks of gas she’s already wanting something with more power. If the 150R was fuel injected I would’ve likely bought it. Kids don’t want to screw around with carburetors like I did when I was a kid. They just want to start it and ride.

It just depends on how fast you want to go and how much maintenance you want to do, as well as how much $$ you want to spend. The 125F models are more of your "regular" dirt bike where's there's not much maintenance to it but with that comes a slower bike when compared to this 150R race bike. Whether or not it would be "good for you" would be contingent on a lot of questions I'd have to ask you etc but could you ride it? Oh yeah! If you want to dive deep into a conversation about it all and what might be the best route for you etc, check out www.PowersportsHelp.com ;)

I’m 5’7 150 and this bike is a BEAST!! I usually ride a 2018 crf 250r and recently picked up a 2022 150r and was so surprised. Bike does about 60mph top speed. Has torque and wheelies in 1st-2nd-3rd gear. Also it’s only about 3 inches shorter than the 250. Bike won’t disappoint. Get the 150 not the 125
