Yo Juliane, Oh yeah, I remember those Dream CL72s they were my first rides as a youth. Great Motorsickles. Easy to ride. Oh yeah I'm showing my age. I have 58 years riding under my Butt. I still Live, Breathe & Bleed Honda Red. Thank you for a great review and all the specs. Most people overlook these smaller displacement Motorsickles. They forget how fun they are to ride. You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda Valkyrie. Keep the Shiny Side Up. Hello again from Mid Michigan, USA 🇺🇸
I didn’t even know the existence of this bike… thank you for bringing me the news, Juliane!😊
Wow, that wasn't your normal voice for sure. You sounded like heat exhaustion was kicking in. Thanks for soldering through a very informative review Juliane.
Quite comprehensive review and thanks for mentioning on the tank / fuel range. Appreciate that ☺️
Wonderful review - excellent commentary and footage. Greetings from the USA!

I really like the idea of this bike. It's what will bring more GenXers to riding motorcycles.
Well done! Great review,very thorough😊
I wish Honda would sell a larger tank for this with the “adventure package” even 3-4 more liters would bring a lot more peace of mind on longer trips

Excellent review, Juliane! I really like the scrambler look. The 790mm seat height is appealing to me because of my 28” inseam. I hope to see this bike in the U.S. soon. I enjoy your channel 😎

Nice review, I like the look with the hand guards and front mud guard … looks like a good all rounder for everyday use 👊
Great review….always like your focus on rider considerations such as seat height, handling and temperament.
Fantastic review! I just came across your channel and am very impressed. I'm seriously considering this as my second bike. Thank very much for your discussuion at 11:39 about passenger comfort...you are the ONLY review to give proper consideration on that topic. My wife is 5'2" so it sounds like she would be just fine there. Again, great job! Just subbed.
Thank you for review! I'm also big fan of scrambler motorcycle appearance.
I miss my old CB500! Sold it for a triple though ;) happy riding Juliane!
Very nice review!! Keep it up!!
I certainly think it looks better with the off road extras ( handguards, mudguard and fairing) but what a shame they're not available in the same colours as the petrol tank. They just look like generic aftermarket add ons.
Thanks for addressing the pillion aspect of this bike, and cool jacket!
Great looking bike, glad it is finally appearing in showrooms, being similar height to you I do like to get your take on a machine, hopefully get to test ride one soon.
Looks great without the white plastic on it ❤

Great review , informative and fun.👍
Love the look of this bike, great review :)
great review, thanks!🎉
I have an scl500 with very few miles on it because I bought it on end of year clearance so I've only had it during the winter. Years ago I had a early 70s 360cc Honda Scrambler that I rode the holy crap out of because I got it well used at a low price. Between the two they have the exact same build ethic, street engine with slightly modified frame and high muffler. I think I am going to love this Scrambler as much or more than the old one, and I am going to ride the crap out of her but not abusively. I will be turning her into a street racer.
Thanks for the review Juliane, nice one! Since you reviewed the RE 411, how do you feel between these two?
Beautiful Bike!!! Congratulations!!

new subscriber here from Philippines, very straightforward review and informative. Perfect to what I have to know for this CL500, hope to see this in PH, i;'m sure the corrupt dealers here will take advantage of this. I think this will be a good choice versus Triumph, Ducati scrambler.... yeah I know, displacements are far from these pricier bikes, but it's honda, I think this is a well balanced bike.

Nice review and bike.
They'll sell millions. Jury is out on the tank shape but I'm old school and would like the tank line to carry on below. But hey...by the end of the video it was growing on me. Not so much the muffler. Pity they couldn't shoot out two pipes. It would look wicked. I'm looking at a new bike. Had an earlier CB500X. Just can't go wrong. But the new CB500X (really like it) or this scrambler? Hmmm...I could travel and daily either. Great review Juliane. Thank you. Love from NZ. Ride safe everyone.
Thanks nice Video , nice bike. Thinking to buy it for second bike for smaller tours and offroad
Another clip of my favorite motorcycle reviews. Until leading to the decision to buy a honda CL500 to be used to travel to work in a big city with dense traffic jams and not disappointed at all It's fun to drive it all morning and evening 6 days a week. I have a question What is the model of your riding shirt, brand?
Looking at some frames of your video, it seems that the exhaust muffler does not cover the the complete top..some part of exhaust is exposed on passenger side. Really liked that you specifically addressed that part in your video. I was a about to comment that I might not be confident as a passenger with that exposed exhaust.
There's been examples of the engine case snapping in 1/2 on the 500's. They use the engine as a stressed member of the frame. That's OK if it's in the Rebel. But when people bring these off road, it's too much stress. A Scrambler needs a cradle frame, like all the dual-sports have.

I don't consider this bike in any way a scrambler. Its just not for off-road,,,,,
Nice review as always, I really like this and would consider buying an orange one. One thing I did find odd is the ignition key in the side of the bike, very odd I don't recall seeing one there in a modern bike before.

Rebel 1100?
Nice, comprehensive review. Handy little bike and it did look good with the off-road/style pack. The only thing I did notice was how far through the stroke the forks seemed to sit, even with a lighter rider like yourself on smooth roads. I guess comfort is the name of the game, but I wonder how much suspension reserve the forks had under braking? Especially with a 100kg rider!

After looking at all sorts for an Americas ,25.000mile ride, best bike was the Versys 300, once you take all factors into consideration, this ticks all the boxes, apart for the tank capacity... I've already spoken to Acerbis, need to follow up, and see what they say(UK office useless).

@@williamrae9954 the stock black seat has a really harsh edge pressing against your thigh too, it's soft on the butt but I felt that weird straight edge after 12km, I would recommend a different seat then it is very nice, otherwise it will be bittersweet
For some reason reminds me of my old Honda XL 250 I loved and rode everywhere. Hmm, 500cc twinn, 6 speed. Maybe 🤔

Which is better, Rebel or CL500? I am having a hard time choosing between the two. I prefer the CL500 but I think for the long run and longer trips with my gf on the back the Rebel is better. Can someone please advise?

It's 79cm. I am 5'4" with a 74.5cm inside leg. With 2" heels and the narrow seat, you should be able to flat foot or near as.😊 Always sit on a bike before you decide. For us smaller people, weight and balance are just as important.

As I understand it the luggage bag is only for the non exhaust side; you can then put luggage on top as well but not on the exhaust side!
Hard to call it a scrambler, suitable for mild off road, when it does not have laced wheels. Chromed laced wheels would definitely make it look the part of a 1960's derived Honda CL.

The extra seat does not fit properly and it is moving/wiggling. The pipe exhaust cover interferes with the heel and is fast-scratched/ worn by boots. Footrests are exactly in the place where you want to put your feet on the ground like on V Strom 650.
There are so many cool bikes that don't seem to make it to the US shores.
Is ok for smaller persons not sure someone 6.6 will look right on it, is ok for Juliane, she can ride anything but a small bike is ideal as long as its got power/torque enough for her, 500cc should be ok,

dunno about the bike but love the jacket!
All the manufacturers are pretending a bit much with these "retro" offerings. Honda's website description of a "high-mount muffler" is laughable. The headers run under the frame, so, any non-pavement riding will have to be free of rocks, logs, and ruts. That said, this bike is a giant step up from the Rebel in my opinion. I can't imagine owning a motorcycle that as no passenger accommodations. My teenage and young adult life would have been ruined with no way to offer fair maidens a ride on my motorcycle. The SCL500 rectifies that problem.
Needs wire wheels and better suspension (usd) fork

I don’t care for the upsweep at the front of the tank. This style bike should have a more classic style tank. I just doesn’t fit the aesthetic.
