Great video Neil! One other difference between the premium and standard compact tractors for New Holland/LS is the location of the fuel tank filler. On the premium tractors, it's right about platform height, on the standard models, the filler neck is about even with the top of the seat back. Probably not important if you can pull up to a fuel pump, but if you use 5 gallon fuel containers, it's awkward to hold the container that high.

I like it. Like you say there is good and bad to it. I like the class 1 ends and the extra room at the front of the floor, is a good place for a saw, chains, tools, etc. Is there a tool box ? Will the bottom draw bar take a 1' pin ? I noticed it is the same as Kubota, it has a lot of open holes in the consoles for options, it would be nice if they would make blanking plates for them. I like the fuel fill location, J.D. has it up on the rear fender.

You might want to consider converting to the skid steer coupler if the bucket has to be custom made. I recall that the New Holland compact tractor is actually owned by FIAT of Italy and very poor quality. They might be cheaper than a Kubota but they will fall apart fast compared to the Kubota. I say that from having a look at them in Thailand against the Kubota, John Deer and Yanmar. There are plenty of tractors of the similar size in Thailand. I opted for the Kubota L5018 with 50 bhp for US$18,2000. You pay extra for a loader and the Kubota is a lot stronger bucket and arm than on the New Holland. Not many use a loader in Thailand, we use a bulldozer front for clearing out fields and levelling the ground.

I'm old school, so I don't like the length of the machine caused by those sweeping loader arms which provide greater lifting height, and while I get the reason for the look of them, to me they look flimsy. I do like the beefy torque box between the two arms however. I also like the easily adjustable anti-sway bars for the three point, and how strong they look. The hump in the middle of the floor of the operators area can be solve with a second floormat or a piece of plywood put underneath it, so that's a minor problem for us old geezers. The horn has got to go . That thing sounds like it came out of a VW Beetle. It should be replaced with one that sounds like it belongs on a tractor, or a good sized truck.
