They basically want to make it so that it is not "easier" to get but yet you feel like you are getting something out of that fail since you are building up to a secured win. This avoids people quitting the game by giving them the assurance that they are going to get it if they keep trying otherwise they were not certain if they would get it some day. I think this change is really good because it keeps people in the game but makes it fair for the ones that really attempted it before by not setting the pitty too low and thus making it absurdly easy for new players.

Thing with Deboreka is, it is in the same category as the other accessories. Overall, the theme with the Ancient Anvil system seems to be "double the average attempts we rescue you". Now the average attempts of course depend on the failstack you use, and since Deboreka has the same Agris Limits as the rest of the accessories, 20 fails is a reasonable limit if you consider that generally the 200fs (190 for the 10%) is what people recommend clicking PEN accessories on. This is about a 10% chance, so double the average would be about 20. Not as nice for Debos because people use higher failstacks, but what can you do.

As someone who has failed pen black star 30 times now 1/90 for black star atm this helps out alot

This is a great change for the game

Seems to me they are trying to promote more players to utilize the enhancing system. Were always telling players to never enhance, but to buy the gear instead. Those who buy their upgrades don't have a need for crons which is limiting costume sales. It's kind of smart without upsetting the community.

Can you clarify some more on the pity system. Basically it will 'guarantee' your upgrade after failing a 'set' number of times. But what if you go from pri->duo->tri->tet and then tet->tri->tet->tri->duo->tri->tet->tri->duo->tri->tet->tri etc etc. and super unlucky when you hit the pity counter your item degrade to duo. So the next upgrade from duo->tri will be 100% guaranteed. But after that, do you start with a pity counter of 0 to continue upgrading from tri and beyond which possibly end up in endless up and down grade of the item tier.

each enhancement level will have individual counter. and It will be reset whenever you hit that enhancement level. There is no single counter for a single item/category, but it's also based on your enhancement level as well. Using your example: pri->duo->tri->tet and then tet->tri->tet->tri->duo->tri->tet->tri->duo->tri->tet->tri->duo Then so far, you will have 4 counts on your pen attempts and 1 count on your tri attempt Because the last time you have already hit tri before getting downgraded from tet to tri to duo again => the tri counter reset.

@@jaysam9157 Thanks for the clarification. It would be better if they can protect the item from downgrading once you hit the pity counter. This will prevent repeat-all-over-again nightmare. But again, its advantage to them for not doing so. The pity system is an improvement but it does not change anything fundamentally. It may be worst if it give you false hope while you kept having your item downgraded and have to rebuild your pity counter all over again each time.

You don't need to be very unlucky to hit some of those counters (or maybe I am). Lately I've hit over 70 fails on pri->duo godr in a row (can prove with journal). This change will get rid of such nonsense at least. What I mean is if you're enchancing a lot, you will eventually hit some giant fail streaks on your way back, as well as one-tapping things.

as someone who as been demoralized by enhancing with limited time to play, i can tell you that i am way more motivated to grind and enhance again with this system... just saying. i love this game, i hate the enhancing system... but this is good.

I wonder if the pity system resets on success. If it doesn't and you get really unlucky, but succeed just before the cut off, you might be able to get a guaranteed 2nd enhancement just because you got fked earlier.

i mean .. i hit 0/38 pen debo neck and quit the game, feels EU when u barely get crons and have to use NPC crons. edit: 315 stack btw. started the stack at 291. Pity system would be a nice idea if they would apply it from like MID 2023 and not 1.1.24 cuz i made most of my taps in late 2023(oct-december)

yeah. it great change, in theory change at most nothing, in practice, you see the light in tunel. Personally, I would remove downgrading and destroying item in enhancing, but you need eg 20 base to make pen attempt or something so cost in statistic for each resources is same, but you can't lose power. Why? Because enhancing in game it should be always for progress, what game or player get from downgrading? if BDO have this from start it would not lose many players.

I agree 100%. People thought it makes the game easier and dead, but the truth is it's removing the cursed character. If they think it makes the game easier, then in the first place, the market was available where you could buy 2 gears if you fail, that too many just to hit the guaranteed chance. Anyway, FGA is a different story and hella expensive too, so you can't say either it makes it easier, but it gives a goal at least. This much better, you can see a finish line, but it's not actually an easy race.

The probability of getting a pen BS on a 245 fs is like 5% most people will say you should get it by 20 tries but in reality the probability of you getting it in 20 attempts is 60ish percent meaning theres still another third of people not getting it. the equation is P= 1- (probability of not getting it so .95)^n , where n is the number of attempts so in reality for pen BS they are 13% of people not getting it with at least a 5% chance at 40 attempts. Thats a huge number if you think about it. However we do get 1 fs per attempt if youre cronning etc. But here im keeping it at 5% to keep it simple.

I failed 70 blackstar tets in row. than i suceeeded 4 pens in 34 tries. So if I understand the new system right I would have gotten my tet much quicker but for my pen no different

Yes, each level and item has its own counter.

Also if you are unlucky and get to 20, u can save the failstack the cronstones and rawtap it for pistanity on 0 FS :-D

it doesn't use the FS at all, it's just 100% boom free. As soon as the update launched I had some free Pens after 1 more attempt.

Yeah, but only very few ppl "enhance enough" to reach statistical average. Which is why variance is huge and important. You would need to make 100s of PEN accessories to expect avg.

Oh figuring out the math is very enjoyable tho^^ And the math doesn't go that deep, it is actually rather straight forward for most of the process. The new pitty system was the most difficult thing to account for until now, so you are fine :)

I used to play this game non stop. I was fully addicted to the point my wife caught me talking about the game in my sleep. I couldn’t even talk about anything else. It consumed my every minute. And I never got close to the top 10% of players. The amount of people paying for “convenience” just get more clicks. Period.

For acc the cut off is actually pretty "fair" But 40 and 50 for BS and godr is WAYY to high they should be 30 and 40, especially if you don't play on NA.

Its like they pay you a cashback of $1 if you lose $100 in their casino. That is how they want to trick the simple-minded to think that the more they lose, the more they earn. Instead of aiming to win, simple-minded gambler will now aim to lose (so that they can earn the cashback).
