Like your subtle sense of humor. Must be from being stuck on that island known as U.K! Great demo! 😎😎

Hmmm… I have been looking to upgrade to a fully adjustable counterbalanced head for some time. The Miller CX heads seemed the best to my mind. But this T8 head will do similar for a fraction of the price. As an Australian, SCG means Sydney Cricket Ground. For the price, I think these tripods definitely hit a six!

Thank you for your review, I find it very didactic and technical. I want to ask you several questions that go deeper into your review, since I am undecided in choosing the SCG T8 head or the SIRUI SHV15 for a camera package that can vary depending on configuration from 2.5kg to 8kg What do you think is the minimum camera weight with which the counterbalance leaves the weight balanced throughout the tilt range without having to overcome the return of the counterbalance? Do you think the SCG-T8 is at its limit for an 8kg camera setup? With the drags at a minimum, are the pan and tilt movements smooth, free and frictionless or at least not noticeable as residual drag? Are the drags 100% purely fluid as they are on an O'connor 2575 (the force depends on the speed of the head turn, at the beginning of the movement there is no drag and this increases with the increase in speed, and the resistance in this increase depends on the chosen regulation) and do they not present variable drag variations during movements as happens with fluid heads that are not high-end? Does the head allow you to make clean diagonals, or do you have to work hard to get a clean diagonal? Thank you.

Thanks for the comment, I have just released another video on SCG new legs today, make sure to check it out. i have never checked min wight for the T8, but it is listed as 2kg by SCG. it dose counter bal with my blackmagic 6K full frame and a mirrorless l mount lens if that helps. regarding max wight never tested again but i believe you could go above 8KG with a good balanced camera rig, also they told me there is a bigger head on the way to take more wight. for the drag, its the one where there is no drag at the start of the movement and its really smooth in both pan and tilt. they have a 30day money back offer on if you wanted to get one and see how you felt. hope this helps.

Looks a little like a rehash of classic Manfrotto. Fair enough if they put some aditional though into it. Personally I love the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 for lighter cameras. Gives you real weired stable angles or plain straight down shot and the extra spignot lock comes in handy for small lights, scrims or monitor. Tried the Ursa Mini Pro but that was a little tricky due to weight and I wouldn't recommand that. Doeble but needs some attention.

While watching i was thinking this looks like a Sachtler Ace tripod, also the smallrig has a fixed counterbalance of between 5 - 8kg but it would be nice if they made a head with adjustable counterbalance

Which country are they based? Their tripods seem great and affordable.

the max height is like 165 cm (5'4ft) isn't it a little too small? A lot of actors would be taller that for eye level shots. Correct if im wrong. Most of the actors i've worked with are at least 5'7ft tall or even 6 and above, so im not sure if i could use it without an apple box in those scenarios where i need a closeup or something that would require that height.

Am 5'9ft, and it can get easily above my eye line with the tripod head and camera high added on, i have not measured it but my guess is you would be fine all the way to about 6'1ft for eye line shots. Will try measure it when i get a chance.

all fluid heads are a “rip-off” of Miller fluid heads. The fluid head was invented by Miller. Robert Miller patented the fluid head in Australia in 1946 and USA in 1949. Great Aussie invention!

@@the_black_douglas9041 You‘re right, the concept of fluid heads was indeed invented by Miller decades ago. Though, I was talking about the design of the head it self and how similar it is to Sachtler heads: - the positioning of the friction adjustment rings and even their typography - the positioning and coloring of the (red) quick release plate‘s knobs - the positioning of the bubble leveler is the same - heck, even the naming T8 is derived from Sachtler

@@nebukadnezzar3578 I still don't get the idea of these useless comments. It is like: Why does my car have a door between the wheels? Or why the screen of my other TV is also a rectangular shape. I also firmly believe that there is no better fluid head for the money than this SCG. If Miller or Sachler offer me that for 200 I will buy it for them. If you don't like it, no problem, go and buy O'conner for 12 000usd, but as of today, I will stick to SCG for sure!
