Yeah to answer your question about amla usage and “shorter hair”, I have been using alma for many, many years - like before you came out with your channel - and amla tightens curls. It does for my curls. When I used henna a lot, I noticed my hair was straighter and I wanted to my curls to be tighter. So I used amla powder and INSTANTLY my curls came back, hair looked only shorter due to my curls not being so loose, and I had so much body that my own mother didn’t recognize me from the back😂. Some folks have no loosing of curls with henna use, but I did so I used amla and it did its thing 😀. Hope this helps. Love your channel and accent ❤️

@@missellen2200 hi I don’t use one of CP’s I use the mixture as part of my prepoo. Chop up my onion boil it in distilled water with some cloves for about 15/20 minutes. Whiles it’s cooling I add some cayenne pepper and dried rosemary. Let it sit over night then strain & freeze it in silicone molds. I thaw what I need the morning of my wash day. I warm it up just a little & apply to my scalp and massage as I go and then ensure my ends get damp. I let it sit for about an hour and then I’ll use something with some slip to detangle and go on with my regular wash day which usually includes some type of Ayurvedic treatment.

@Cherl Hill hello you could get aloe vera leaf from your local grocery store and Walmart. Wash your leaf. 1)Cut it in chunks 2)cut the chunks in half. 3)Then with a spoon extract the gel in a bowl, 4)blend for a few seconds,5) strain with nut milk bag or stocking in a bowl 6) add any hair growth oil of choice 1-2 tbsp 7) mix well 8) pour and spray bottle 9) keep refrigerated for one or two weeks.

@@Leah_Tewari Im a lazy natural sis, i pretty much just keep my hair in protective styles for 6-8 weeks and use the the beast mode growth oil 3-4 times a week along with a moisturizing spritz. When I wash my hair I make an all in one ayurvedic co wash and deep conditioning mask. I always make an aloe leave in conditioner. Lastly Revair dry my hair, and put my hair back in a protective style. Really I just keep it simple.

Got my game on! I’m prepped and prayed up! 🙌🏽💖 After a day in the sun and beach, my hair is dry too. I will be working through this routine after church to bring the moisture back to my hair. I will tell you now, my hair absolutely loves Soultanicals Mango Dip Detangling Slip Leave-In Conditioner and Camille Rose Curl Maker. I’ve tried many many many other products but these two get my life all the way sorted! Amla definitely draws my curls up too but I always add a spoon of henna to my mixes. My hair is low porosity, type 3c/4a, and super duper dense. I’m really looking forward to this challenge.

Favorite Leave-in: Pattern Leave-in/Favorite Moisturizer: Pattern Moisture Milk. I have discovered that Amla definitely stains gray hair!! 😢 Regardless, I will continue to use Amla as a gloss by adding a bit to my deep conditioner….but, I can’t add 2 tbsps….it’s too strong. It literally pulls water out of my strands when I use it (as a mask w/deep conditioner). It’s terrific and very powerful!!! I just have to keep the amount down to gain positive outcomes, for me. I also realize that I can only use it as a gloss additive in small amounts to my deep conditioner (which I use with heat) once a month. Fenugreek and Flax Seed Gel (w/marshmallow root and slippery elm) carries me thru the rest of the time!!! ❤️

Please share ways to stretch when dry. I use henna and amla in order to keep henna from loosening my curls I add the amla. The shrinkage is so real! My dry hair is mid-back but stretched out its waist length. I also just learned not to bun when wet. I have a few matts throughout but I can't cut them out until it grows to a longer length. I just let it dry under my hooded dryer after I add products then bun while dry.

For the challenge, I am doing amla teas and amla oil, and the fenugreek elixir for scalp massages. I am doing henna masks every 3 to 4 weeks. I have in the crock pot right now some amla infusing into olive oil. I use olive oil for oil rinses and will see about using it to seal in moisture, though I tend to use the Melanin Hair Care Oil Blend to seal in moisture. I like how lightweight it feels. I also have some brahmi powder, so I may try an amla-brahmi infused oil in the next couple of months. I'm so excited to see the results of this challenge!

What do you recommend I use for a daily shampoo and conditioner since the masques are supposed to be used every 3 weeks? Thanks for your hard work!! Loving your channel

I love your hair! I worked to straighten my hair in, it seems, forever. Now my hair is wavy/curly and I would like it more curly less wavy. So you think amal promotes curl? Also, I thought it was better to detangle dry hair. What do you think about that?

Does it have the same effect if I mix in a deep conditioner instead of a butter? Did you shampoo out the oil then did you Amla mask? And you said you're not going to spritz your braids only the scalp because it would be over kill, right?

Is it wise to warm up the oils when they're in those plastic bottles? Heating plastics may cause chemicals to leach into your oils, right? Those chemicals will then be on your scalp. What are your thoughts?
