New GERMAN Infantry Fighting Vehicle With SPIKE Missiles SHOCKED THE WORLD!

German engineering has always been hailed as top-notch. Be it the Tiger Tank of World War Two, or today’s Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank, there is just something about German big cats. And the Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle is no different. The Lynx is a baby among the offered infantry fighting vehicles. The vehicle has been developed by Rheinmetall as a cheaper and simpler alternative of the Puma, which it manufactures for the German company Bundeswehr together with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The Lynx KF31 was firstly publicly introduced in 2016 in the Eurosatory Military Trade Fair in Paris, where two years later a new prolonged model, KF41, in configuration of an infantry fighting vehicle and commander-staff vehicle was disclosed. In this video we are going to take a closer look at this vehicle designed to be very capable, agile, and a mighty war machine for the future battlefields of the world.

Tiger and Panther of WW2 were a big myth. They were overly engineered and broke down a lot because of tons of technical issues. The Sherman on the other hand, was much simpler and even some rednecks were able to drive and repair it. Tiger and Panther just had better armor and stronger cannons, but the best tank doesn't help you, when the engine starts burning or the tracks fall off. After all, history told what was more useful: some fancy space age tanks with crews of engineers or cheap production line crap, driven by toothless farmers.

When buying a new German car (Audi, VW, Mercedes, BWM etc.), the options of configuration are unbelievable high as well, but it always comes with a high price (Alexa integration costs up to several hundred Euros), on the other hand every wish can be fulfilled. True. In addition, the Spike rocket system is not new as well. It is older than the Puma. However, it is even possible to shot anti tank missiles from the IFV Marder since the 70s. It is possible to mount a MILAN on it. It is basic equipment and included into the tactics of German mechanised infantry. Therefore, all German companies have to include this kind of weapons into an IFV of they want to sell it to the German army.

The US variant of the KF41 will have the 50mm (Bushmaster, I believe) cannon. And that main weapon system has a much higher elevation capability. This thing is ultra clean. America will buy our lynx. 4000 of them. american millitary industries just cant build tanks anymore. they have not even a following version of the m109, they dont have a following versioni of the abrahams, and they dont have a infantry fighting vehicle while germany allready have since 20 years the pzh2000 while germany allready have 350 pumas, while germany now has the kf51 panther. and that goes on in every category

The American version had to be cut down (why Rheinmetall didn't offer the KF31 at that point still annoys me, but whatever) to reduce the dismount space (and for the weight savings). The US SEP upgrades to the Abrams have effectively made the tank something still at the top of the playing field, particularly once the SEPv4 is rolling out with that new gun system fully implemented.

  • @wolflarsen1900

@@DarkHorseSki with upgrades you can improve a system forever. For example the abrahams or the leopard 2 platform cant use a 130mm cannon. And if you compare abrahams upgrades with the equivalents of german leopard 2 upgrades like the latest leopard 2a7v its still a lot worse. the abraham system is just in its fundamentals not a very good system and leaves less space to improve it above a special point. Thats why actually the united states should have develeoped a newer version since a hell lot of time. That they dont do that, and thats true for all of their systems, is a very bad sign. America just stopped to invent new millitary vehicles since nearly half of a century (!). And thats also why the often just propagaded allegeded new versions like a new abrahams should make everybody doubt that the ever come into existence. Germany never stopped upgrading and developing new vehicles, and thats why germany has better millitary vehicles than america.

@@wolflarsen1900 Because the KF31 is sized EXACTLY to the number of dismounts the OMFV program now requires. The vehicle is, essentially, the same age and has much of the same modularity as the KF41, while already being the right hull... at least as far as I was concerned. And actually, vehicles like the Abrams have been through so many rebuilds that the vehicles don't really have a standard hull any more. So, even if they had the molds they could not just stamp out new hulls to fix things in the fleet as the vehicles in the fleet have enough size variation from different weldings, that it is not possible. The KF41 is so modular, that upgrades on it will be 40x easier to perform than we see on any of those vehicles designed in the 20th century.

My point is that germans often overengineer. At some point close to 90% of desired capabilites is enough. The other 10-15% make the vechicle very expensive and compex. See german Tigers and US Shermans in WW2. I know one was heavy tank and other was medium, but the germans wanted the best of the best. The americans wanted good enough.

@@tacho843 I want to second what was already said above. There is no such thing as "over engineered". A vehicle may be too expensive to manufacture. It may be too difficult or expensive to maintain. The company producing the vehicle may not be able to deliver enough in a reasonable amount of time, or the ammo may not be readily available. All of these criticisms mean something, although I'm not aware that any of them apply to the vehicle being discussed here. In contrast "over engineered" is so vague it could mean anything, and as a result actually means nothing.

I think, Marko you could forgett Puma AFV! Germany's armed forces, the Bundeswehr, has been experiencing serious technical problems with its Puma infantry fighting vehicles, according to a report in Der Spiegel magazine on Saturday. After a training exercise involving 18 state-of-the-art Puma infantry fighting vehicles, not a single one was left operational, the report said. The situation has caused a stir in the Defense Ministry because the vehicles are supposed to participate in NATO's spearhead Very High Readiness Joint Task Force next year. The Pumas assigned to the task force will instead be replaced with the older but proven Marder infantry fighting vehicle "until further notice," Major General Ruprecht von Butler said in a letter to the ministry, according to Der Spiegel.

KF-41 crews are nor comfortable as a AS-21. KF-41 is more expensive better than AS-21. Search for South Korean AS-21. KF-41 had maked a problems its catapillar three times in a yeaer but AS-21 had not in one year test in Austria. Kf-41 is more expensive but its capabiliy is noy better than AS-21. KF-41 is a junk compare thann a AS-21. KF-41 is more expensive, not better than s AS-21. If you want to fight, I will invite KF-41 in South Korean battle field. 10 of AS-21a is bwtter thann a 40 Kf-41. Compare AS-21 and KF-41, Kf-41 must be destroyed after a battle with AS21, I can swear it. KF-41 is junk-like IFV rather thana a AS-21. Please look for a AS-21.
