Jordan and I both went to the Art Institute in Ft. Laud and we met for the first time when he approached me in the parking lot after hearing me pull in blasting Avail. He took me to a local music store, Uncle Sams, and showed me tons of bands I had never heard of. Got me into Saves the Day, Cave In, and Hot Water Music that day. I started doing the label with John shortly after that time. Great band and great people.

I saw NFG open for Less Than Jake WAY before they got big. My buddy was a HUGE HUGE fan and was up front singing the entire time. After their set they went out of their way to find him and thank him for knowing the words. They actually hung out with us for a while talking music. When Chad found out I was into hardcore he 1) thanked me for not shouting out "play a Shain Hulud Song!" Because apparently it was happening at almost every show and 2) Started talking to me about new hardcore bands he was into and asking who I was listening to. They were the nicest guys and it was so amazing for us because we kind of saw them as this big untouchable band and they wanted to stand around and talk to us.

NFG is from Coral Springs, not Coral Gables (Which is about 30 miles South). It was amazing growing up here in Broward County and watching their journey unfold as a teenager myself at the time. All of us that were in the local Hardcore/Punk/Pop-punk scenes knew each other, NFG members included. They were our friends ultimately. Watching them blow up was so awesome yet became bittersweet when they stopped playing locally frequently. I remember the first time they played back here again after becoming well known. They put a show together at Coral Springs Sportsplex which was not a music venue by any means. They did so to honor where we grew up from, and it was an epic night. The fact that they're still making good music and touring is amazing as well. Thanks for making this video. I've been watching you for years now and I think this is the first time I'm commenting. Great content man.

Perfect timing Finn! Just saw them for the 12th time this past weekend. Love love love NFG. They bring the energy every show. I really can't understand how they didn't get bigger when they're absolutely superior musicians to Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, etc. Anyways, I've got similar parallels to your history w/ them (and the band itself). Heard Self-Titled and it was everything I'd ever wanted musically. Bad breakups and lovey dovey at the same periods of releases. Kinda funny. Anyways, one thing I will say is I feel Coming Home is absolutely perfect and one of my faves. It's incredibly well-written and has almost a classic rock type quality to it. NFG is incredibly influential yet often overlooked. Thanks for this!

Somehow ended up being in the top 0.05% of NFG Spotify listeners last year lol. I just love that, aside from Coming Home, whenever NFG puts out an album, you generally know what you're gonna get. Some people may find that off putting, but I like it because each album has its own sound, but it's still very much NFG every time. They're just a big time comfort band for me, if that makes sense. That being said, count me as one of those fans who didn't really like Coming Home when it came out, but have come to appreciate it a lot in recent years.

As a huge Shai Hulud fan it blows my mind and nourishes my heart with hope and compassion to see this shit, and to see Finn cover bands he really fucks with. It's also given me a lot more appreciation for NFG, so hell yeah.

yo this vid being released today which is my birthday is pretty fucking cool! i'm 41 nfg is one of my all time favorite bands and of the few bands where i actually still listen to their new albums, having also been a fan of hardcore for a large portion of my life it was always cool seeing nfg represent hardcore bands in subtle ways like wearing bands shirts, having posters and stickers in their vids i recall one of them having gorilla biscuits on vinyl in an mtv cribs and even low key stuff like having members of bane, madball and h20 doing backing vocals on their songs, they are one of the funnest shows i've ever seen live easycore is one of the best genres to ever exist and they set it off!

I’ve heard of New Found Glory when I was younger, but I didn’t really start getting into them until late 2018 early 2019, then I started listening to them a lot more in the middle of the pandemic and started learning a lot of their songs on guitar and bass, I got to see them live in 2021 and 20,22 respectively, and I even got to play guitar with them on stage during their VIP Soundcheck

The best band to ever do it. There’s so much to their history that is worth mentioning outside of the studio releases-all of the FTSTYS releases are undeniable, ISHC RULES. Their recent history is really worth note as well. More needs to be celebrated about how much they’ve accomplished in the last 5 years. Chad’s current battle with cancer and him kicking its butt like a champ and bringing awareness to pheochromocytoma. Musically, Makes Me Sick shows them experimenting with different sounds, their Christmas album with all originals is a new classic, F+ExI is one of their greatest albums to date, and then signing with Rev for the acoustic LP is pretty iconic in and of itself and is a full circle moment for the band’s love of hardcore. This band is still super rad and doing it big on their own terms.

NFG are the most important band of my life. They turned me from "that spotty, awkward nerd" to "the guy who intruduces us to great music" They inspired me to take on guitar and drums and start my own band. They gave me the confidence to achieve everything I achieved in my life. Years later I was on the only gig they ever played in Czechia. It was on a relatively uncool boomer festival and they noticed I was the only one who parties and sings along the whole time. And they invited me to stage and handed me a microphone to sing Failure's not Flattering with them. It truly was the best moment of my life.

Well said, NFG is a hardcore band through and through I met Chad at Warped Tour in like 03. There was a sticker on his amp for a super small Wisconsin hardcore band (I’m from Wi, so it NFG’s sound guy). We spent like 20 minutes talking about Midwest hardcore and he asked what bands he should check out.

One of my favorite bands ever ❤. Back in 2019 they made an appearance and guest DJ’d at EmoNite here in L.A. Within the crowd outside the venue, I saw Jordan just talking to some guy. I was too shy to ask for a pic so my husband asked for me,lol. Jordan was cool and nice enough to take a picture with me. Needless to say, that made me super happy 😅

Nailed it as per usual, Finn.. except one major mistake - New Found Glory is from CORAL SPRINGS, not Coral Gables.. I grew up in Coral Springs & remember NFG as a local band and I remember seeing them at the Coral Springs Sportsplex in 2001 with Finch and Something Corporate right as they were starting to blow up on MTV.. I also remember their younger siblings joining bands; like Jordan little brother Dickey & Steve's brother Dave.. I remember Dave showing my friends & I the raw demo tracks for Catalyst. I also worked at the NFG family-owned, Solid Sound Studios as a sound engineer for a number of years & booked NFG to play in the large rehearsal space we had there around 2012 or 2013-ish for about 150-200 kids all crammed in that rehearsal space; singing every word right back at them.. A friend at the time, Nash even got to hop on drums in place of Cyrus for a song or two.. good times.. NFG will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.. they were (and will always be) soundtrack to my life.

Became a fan real late around the time of Makes me Sick (although I had heard their stuff before then) so I discovered a lot of their music out of order, and its funny to hear Coming Home is the black sheep of their discography, as its maybe my favorite of theirs. I even pushed real hard (unsuccessfully) to have Make Your Move be my wife and I's first dance at our wedding.

I've seen them play all over the country and to this day will go to any show they are playing near me. They never disappoint live.
