New Ford Mondeo Hybrid Vignale 2019 Test Drive Review.
For customers who require greater load-carrying capability, the new Mondeo Hybrid wagon delivers the driving range and freedom offered by a traditional combustion engine with the efficiency and refinement of an electric powertrain.
In both wagon and coupe-inspired four-door body styles, the self-charging Mondeo Hybrid is capable of pure electric driving and offers silent key start capability for refinement particularly in city and stop-start driving scenarios. The powertrain eliminates both range anxiety and the need for customers to use an external power source to charge the battery.
The latest generation of Mondeo Hybrid powertrain control software delivers a smooth, linear response to acceleration demand for a refined driving experience. The enhanced powertrain software is also more effective at using the engine’s torque to deliver greater fuel efficiency and performance - seamlessly adjusting transmission ratios to utilise the highest engine torque at lowest engine speed.
The hybrid powertrain delivers 187 PS, and combines a specially-developed 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine; electric motor; generator; 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery; and a Ford-developed power-split automatic transmission that emulates the performance of a continuously-variable transmission.
The new wagon body style provides 403 litres load capacity beneath the cargo cover for Mondeo Hybrid customers with the rear seats in place, and up to 1,508 litres with the rear seats folded, while a flat floor makes loading and unloading of large or bulky items easier. Additional storage is concealed beneath the load floor.
Mondeo now also offers Adaptive Cruise Control technology - which enables the vehicle to automatically maintain a comfortable driving distance from vehicles ahead - enhanced with additional Stop & Go functionality.
Enabled by the introduction of Ford's eight-speed automatic transmission, the Stop & Go feature can bring the vehicle to a complete halt in stop-start traffic, and automatically pull away if the stopping duration is less than 3 seconds. For stopping durations greater than 3 seconds, the driver can push the resume button on the steering wheel or gently apply the accelerator to pull away, greatly enhancing comfort when driving in stop-start traffic.
Introduced to Mondeo for the first time, Intelligent Speed Limiter combines Ford’s Speed Limiter and Traffic Sign Recognition technologies, and can help ensure the vehicle’s maximum speed is automatically adjusted to remain within changing speed limits. The system uses a windscreen-mounted camera to monitor road signs and when the speed limit is lower than that maximum set speed, slows the vehicle as required. As the speed limit rises, the system allows the driver to accelerate up to the set speed, providing it does not exceed the new speed limit.
Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system allows Mondeo drivers to control audio, navigation and climate functions plus connected smartphones using simple voice commands. Supported by an 8-inch colour touchscreen that can be operated using pinch and swipe gestures, SYNC 3 is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™.
“The new Mondeo also introduces various semi-autonomous features. Whether reducing the stress of driving in traffic jams by automatically following the car ahead, or helping drivers avoid speeding fines with our Intelligent Speed Limiter technology, every aspect of our enhanced Mondeo is designed to make driving easier, more relaxing and more rewarding,” de Waard said. “The Mondeo Hybrid offers a compelling alternative to diesel powertrains for fleet and private customers in both wagon and four-door body styles.”

Hi 😊 thanks for this video, I'm Irish but I can't find any Irish videos about this car, and this was by far the most informative and very well presented, but I have a question, does it feel sluggish under full acceleration? I believe the torque is quite low. I drive a 2 litre diesel at the moment but thinking of buying a hybrid mondeo. I just dont want to feel short changed on power. Thanks very much.

Hi Daniel , when I was driving the car I feel that it has alot of power...but by advice is to go and make an test drive ...you have to feel it yourself. For me was enough power.👍👌🙏

Cred ca ala e 2020 cu schimbator wireless. Uite ca la asta nu m-am gandit. O sa intreb. EU zic ca arata bine. Imi place masina. Depinde ce vrei de la masina.

Why still selling old Mondeo in Europe, if in USA the Fusion new model is already over a year on the market? Who will buy 1 year old car as new?

Truth to be said I didn't feel any noise inside cabin, I felt like the quality is very good. I had a good impression about the car after test drive
We have a ford Mondeo vignale too our car is Platinum white and its not hatchback

I have tried both and the Mondeo Vignale feels a lot more premium, comfortable, silent, spacious, powerful and easy to drive. It is also more expensive but I fall in love with that Mondeo and had no choice but to order it! 😅

@@Johnny_mv yes I have it for one year now and I am super happy with it! I have the Vignale premium version and it is super comfy! It drives smoothly and the power is available whenever needed. I had a small accident with someone that could not stop at a crosswalk and hit the back of the car. I received the diesel version while the garage was fixing the back bumper and it was not as comfortable and smooth at all! The only thing that is not that good is when you have to climb a big hill at fast speed. It can do it but makes a lot of noise like all those kind of hybrid car... But having tried the new corolla, I can tell that with the mondeo the noise level is divided by 10! I also recently tried a Lexus and it is also super good and is more premium but they are a lot more expensive.

I found a used hybrid vignale at 19000 Eur with 26000 km from 2018 and I really like the car but there are very few information regarding reliability and I wonder how it will hold its resale value. As far as I know electric engines are reliable and the gas engine being NA everything should be ok. Also I couldn't find any info regarding the warranty for the batteries. Most of the people recommend the diesel Mondeo, but I drive mostly in town so the hybrid is more suitable.
What is your average fuel consumption?

Depend very much of the driving conditions. Sure it can get 4l with no problem. But in winter time consumption will be higher. Also if you use AC or heating 1 liter will be extra on all cars. 👍 only Plug in hybrids can get real average consumptions of 4l when they have battery 🔋
'Great' and 'good' and 'nice' 'cool' are all nice words, I miss facts here, what engine does it have hp, tyres, mpg etc...

The middle console say...feel the cheapness... My Brother is a yogurt cup.
lots of nice gadgets.........that can go wrong and keep you in the Ford service bay. since when did we get so lazy as needing a motor to move a seat forward? Nice car ....Pretty car, but I see heaps of warning lights in that cars future for its owner.

I have the plug-in hybrid American version of this car (Fusion Energi) completely loaded. None of the technology has gone wrong. I think you just buy used pieces of crap if you think that technology is gonna break. I always buy new with extended warranties.

Ciudat este ca emisiile de gaze declarate la cea pe bezina este de 150 g/km CO2 si la cea Hybrid este de 90 si ceva...eu la Bora mea...desi e euro 3 are 120-130 g/km co2 si ma gandesc ca la ford euro 6....e cam mult 150...oare de ce? Cum functioneaza asta cu hybridul? Nu se incarca in timp ce merge motorul pe benzina? Se incarca NUMAI LA FRANARE? Multumesc frumos pentru raspuns! Si an nou fericit. Ca o paranteza, intreb asta pentru ca vor sa faca minuni cu masinile diesel...sa nu le mai faca...etc...poluare rahat. Apropo, like-ul nr 414.
