Ford today also revealed for the first time the new Focus ST, offering powerful EcoBoost petrol powertrains, available in hatchback and wagon body styles and developed by Ford Performance.
The new Focus ST features a bold exterior design that further emphasises its high-performance character. Details include honeycomb upper and lower front grilles, large side vents, side skirts and aerodynamically-optimised spoilers on the lower fascia and rear roof. A new design of 18‑inch alloy wheel is standard, with optional 19-inch wheels also available.
Inside, the Focus ST features all-new Performance Seats, developed in-house by Ford
Performance engineers to provide high levels of support and comfort whether on the track or the school run. The seats have been given the seal of approval from the leading spinal health organisation Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V. (AGR) (the Campaign for Healthier Backs). Fourteen-way power seat adjustment, including four-way adjustable lumbar support, helps drivers reach their ideal driving position, while standard seat heating contributes to high levels of comfort.
The new Focus ST is powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, delivering 280 PS and 420 Nm of torque supported by a twin-scroll turbocharger with anti-lag technology. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard with rev-matching technology when specified with the optional X Pack for smoother, more consistent down-shifts. A seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters is also available.
Further high-performance driving technologies include an electronic limited-slip differential that enhances cornering performance and traction when accelerating, as well as available Continuously Controlled Damping that monitors steering, braking, suspension and body inputs 500 times a second to adjust damping responses to deliver optimal ride comfort and cornering control. ST models equipped with the upgraded X pack feature Dynamic Pixel LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and an additional Track mode within the selectable Drive Modes, for optimised EPAS feedback, a more aggressive throttle tuning and greater leeway from the ESC system.
The new Focus introduces a fresh and confident exterior inspired by Ford’s “human-centric” design philosophy, giving each new Focus variant a distinct personality.
A new bonnet design increases the height of the nose for greater visual presence across the line-up, and the Ford “blue oval” badge is relocated from the bonnet lip to the centre of the larger upper grille.
New LED headlights are standard on all new Focus variants and now include integrated fog light functionality that allows a cleaner, sleeker lower fascia design, and deliver a distinctive and purposeful light signature. Five-door and wagon models feature a darkened taillight lens for a premium look, while high-series LED taillights feature a new internal design with a darker central section and an eye-catching new loop light pattern.
Each new Focus variant benefits from unique design details, with upper grille and fascia designs reflecting distinct personalities and creating greater differentiation across the range. Connected and Titanium series feature a wide upper grille with a gloss chrome surround, distinguished by its strong horizontal bars and matched by upturning side vents that flow from the lower grille. In addition, Titanium series features a hot-stamped chrome finish to the upper grille bars.
The Ford Performance-inspired ST-Line variant’s sportier character is delivered using a uniquely proportioned trapezoidal upper grille, supported by a gloss black honeycomb finish alongside broader side vents and a deeper lower grille. ST-Line variants also feature side skirts, a rear diffuser and a discreet rear spoiler.

While founded here, Ford Germany is pretty much its own company. They have always had different models, etc. It's only with cars like the Contour, Fusion, Escape, Focus, and Fiesta that we've got German Ford's. Oh, and you can't forget the Murkur line of the 80's.

Very nice presentation. Looks awesome but I ain't spending almost 50k for a ST lol. An RS I would for sure, love me that AWD action. Would definitely trade in my subie for one.

Not sure where you live, but daily driving a Focus RS is an outrageously bad idea. It’s borderline impossible in the Northeastern US because of the poor road conditions from winter. I’d keep your STI if I were you.

Why would you trade in a car that has all Time awd for a car that has torque vectoring 4wd? The RS is mostly FWD unless the computer tells the car to activate the rear wheels.

With the 2.3 its like a front wheel rs. Less drivetrain loss, potential for modding. Wish we had this in the U.S. ill just enjoy my regular 15 st tuned, fmic etc for now. Fun cars!

That color is fire. Wow this thing might be able to compete with the new corolla GR I like that 7 speed auto. Does it have cooled seats? lol. So expensive though. Wow it has the mustang ecoboost motor in it, detuned version.

I ordered the new Focus ST in April 2022, in magnetic grey, I can't wait to have it, delivery time 1 year 😫

I’ve been waiting since Nov 21.
I have a 2013 ford focus st with over 126,000 and I've had it since it was new and I've never had a problem with it. I also get around 35 - 38 mpg constantly.

Damn it's crazy I have a 2014 Ford focus ST and I only get about 20 miles per gallon on average I wonder what the difference between yours and mine is??? I will say it's an amazing car I haven't had any problems with it!!

@@shaunwolfe7665 I baby it most of the time. When I'm going downhill I put it out of gear and let it coast. If the speed limit is 55 mph I usually set my cruise at 48 mph. I put it out of gear when I'm going to stop way before I do stop and just let it coast. I don't let the revs go past 2,000 rpms when I'm accelerating. Just a few tips to help you, I hope this helps especially now that gas prices are very high.

2014 se 134,000 miles. Tuned for torque instead of horsepower.. car always looks like its going faster then what it really is.. i blow past cops doing 45 mph lmfao.

I personally wouldn't be able to get it but makes me sad we won't see these in US dealers.

They are moving the production of the sinc 4 and where they produce the focuses. I got lucky with mine managing to pick one up that was just brought into the country but like many other manufacturers you’re probably gonna be eating over a year to get it

No, americans buy suvs and trucks, if we ever spent money on awesome cars like this, we would have them. Same reason we didn't get the GR yaris. Nobody fucking buys a yaris here.

After and Before: As a kid my aunt Diane took me to the “Penny candy store” on the West side of. Chicago where we lived. She asked me what I wanted. There were eye candy packages of suckers candy bars chewing gum and other fascinating stuff. Cheap toy too. On the shelf I noticed a box of Kleenex tissue with old cars on them. Maybe they were Fords not sure now. Kind of sure though: bicycle wheel tight cabin, bars of the under carriage. I pointed at the box and said that I want that. Kleenex? My aunt said. I said cars. Are there a lot of cars in that box? She laughed and said there aren’t cars in that box. That’s just a box of tissue paper. I was convinced that she was wrong because I wanted those cars and willed it to be so. I kept pointing and saying I want those. Both the cashier and my aunt thought it was cute and kindly convinced me that I would be buying Kleenex and not miniature cars. I was disappointed but got candy anyway and left. One Christmas I got a model at Ford about 10 inches long. Flip out seat. Gotta 2018 Ford Focus last the last great American Car.
