Folks, there is a new new version that has a sealed bearing. The kit is 8869-04, the PN for the sealed bearing is 886902. Won't get Sand and mud in the bearing causing it to prematurely fail.

Synergy customer service is amazing. I had an original design of the aluminum sector shaft brace and the grease hole wasn't lined up...they sent me a new version immediately. I haven't had any trouble since then so I plan to leave it alone for now.

I am about to put this on and it came with 4 long bolts. The instructions and videos online make no mention of replacing the factory ones, but say to reuse the factory ones that hold the steering box. Why did it come with these 4 long bolts? Just in case? 4" long

About a week or so from putting the Synergy sector shaft brace out on my Gladiator I started noticing a creaking sound coming from the steering box area. Any Thoughts? I already had the TSB replacement done when i had the brace out on.

lol, oh snap, the brace would not have prevented that break. It was more than likely already weak. The brace dose one thing and one thing only, holds the sector shaft in place. it doesn't stop the torsional stress from those big tires bouncing around.

I had this brace put on my Gladiator about a week or so ago. After about a week I started hearing a creaking noise coming from my steering box area when i turn the wheel to the left. Any thoughts? I already had the replacement box put on from the TSB so i'm pretty sure it's not the box.

I cannot comment on the steer smarts, I don't own one. But just looking at the other part it doesn't look like they welded or added gussets. The synergy has lateral plates at the bolts protecting it from lateral loads (side loading). Synergy looks to be much better made.

I installed this today but there is no way the aluminum part will fit, the hole on the flat head is off over 1/2 the bolt hole and the other bolt is off about a 1/4 of the hole, no matter how I try to maneuver the steering box and there are no welds in the way. Anyone ever have this happen?

I have a synergy trackbar brace and the steering tsb done. JT steering felt great for about 3 months. I'm back to step 1. My steering is loose again. Have about 2 inches of play. Really annoying. Any suggestions?

Hands down better. The steer smarts isn't gusseted and interferes when you flex. Go check out my flex video and you'll see why synergy is better.

I’ve tried both and the steersmarts sector shaft brace is better in my opinion. It’s 1/4” thick and feels more solid. Their customer service is awesome. I had problems with my synergy bushing spinning as mentioned in the video. I contacted synergy and they told me to press it out, put red loctite around it, align it and press it back into place. For me, their customer service was horrible. Also, they made me feel like it was my fault. That’s when I decided to go steersmarts and I’m completely happy.

The Synergy brace is crap compared to the Steer Smarts brace. I have the Synergy and with not off roading lasted 8 months. Their design using aluminum and relying on strictly grease to stay in between two o-rings instead of the sealed steel bearing Steer Smarts uses is ridiculous. There is a video someone put out on KZread comparing the two side-by-side and differences are obvious. Even the steel that Steel Smarts uses is thicker and the welds are better. Too many pieces on the Synergy to go wrong, even the Steel Smarts has a snap ring on the bottom that prevents the brace from dipping if the bolts loosen up, the Synergy does not and if the bolts loosen it starts dropping down and puts pressure on the sector shaft.

Agreed, I was the guinea pig for many of these parts. The steer smarts came to market later so they were not available at the time. That is part of the difference in who bought one brand or the other. At this juncture and time the steer smarts is today the better part.
