New Footage Shows Moments Before Seattle Man Crashed Plane in 2018

A newly released video sheds new light on the moments leading up to Richard Russell crashing a plane. The footage shows him going through security wearing a T-shirt that says "the sky's no limit." He then boards an empty 70-seater plane and took off. Russell flew the plane around Seattle for an hour while National Guard fighter jets were scrambled in fear. The 2018 incident ended when Russell crashed the plane onto a remote island, killing himself.

He still deserves full credit for being the only person, who on their first flight without any experience before, chose a large passenger plane, did a looping in it, which is a feat the most experienced pilot wouldn't dare to do, didn't loose control over it and perfectly hit the spot where he wanted to crash. He has got to be the best Pilot I have ever seen.

Thats not courage. It takes courage to see life through. Courage is pushing forward even with all odds against you. It takes courage to get up each day and work hard to be a productive member of society. Courage is never quitting no matter what comes your way in life. Courage is standing up for what is right regardless of adversity set before you. Suicide is not courage. Causing pain to your loved ones that they will carry for the rest of their lives is selfishness not courage. It's sad that this young man put himself in a situation that he knew would end in his death. I pray for his loved ones and wish he could have chose a different path in life. He clearly would have made an awesome pilot.

A really good attorney might have even gotten him less time than that but he would be with a PD from the sound of his situation. "A real human being, and a real hero." Fly high Skyking. You had at one point in your hands to cause mass casualties, but you decided to carry all your burdens to yourself and only yourself. That in itself, deserves some recognition. You don't ever have to apologize, because we understand you. I truly hope you enjoyed that view of Mt. Rainier on your final hours of life.

"...but you decided to carry all your burdens to yourself and only yourself." Yeah, no burden on the airline/insurance co. to lose a multi-million dollar plane; no burden on taxpayers to pay for fighter jets to scramble to ensure that this selfish idiot doesn't plow into a building; no burden on firefighters to put out the blaze or emergency response teams; no burden on crash investigators, no burden on his family who have to plan a funeral and deal with possible lawsuits/damage claims, etc..
