Ok so I checked and Trump is actually talking about EV boats with much higher voltage batteries, like 300V or 400V. So I kind of agree with him that that much voltage can be pretty dangerous in salt water if you are too close to its contacts, and I assume considering the risk, boat makers have systems in place to avoid that voltage to be in water if the boat sinks. I used to work for a boat system company and we were quite careful around any risks. So the danger may still be irrelevant... especially to a political campaign! I worked on a 960 volt DC system for a hybrid boat, it is definitely a concern. The boat had ground fault monitoring systems that blew pyro fuses in the battery modules, and in the series connections between them, eliminating the risk to what is shown in this video. I volunteered to test the GFI on the live system. I had done it many times before on a 1000V power supply, so I knew it worked, but it was still nerve-wracking when you hoped everything was going to go bang but your finger.

Trump (guessing here) was probably ranting about electric boats with a huge Lithium battery. Having a DC battery of several 100V in the water might give you a tickle but i think in the sea, salt water has lower bulk resistance than you (more so lard-ass DJT). As long as you don't touch the terminals you won't get electrocuted. However if it's shorted and the cooling is not enough it miht still catch fire? hhat would be scary. Can we chuck someone's Tesla in the harbour to confirm?
@mikestevens4147
2 күн бұрын
I mean, 30 gallons of gasoline in the water around you and one spark would be pretty bad too. Actually a lot worse since lithium burns slowly and doesn't ignite in a big flash. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6acxo9_hpfYkps.html
@leonhardtkristensen4093
Күн бұрын
Sea water doesn't give a total short. It would probably boil around the terminals and then break the connection. I don't believe the battery would over heat. Also the sea water would cool it pretty well. Next the sharks are supposedly very sensitive to electric current in the water and would probably swim away. It would then be safer to sink with an electric boat than a normal one.

Trump in that clip is talking about an electric boat, not a 12V car battery that happens to be in one. those ground fault tests completely vaporize the metal. that brownish smoke is vaporized metals (probably copper). i've seen the aftermath of this kind of vaporization that happened on accident, and all we had left was the insulation. a wire shorted some massive current at low voltage, and it vaporized the 28 gauge wire such that the insulation split open, the wire literally exploded with a loud BANG and left the empty insulation behind. i wish we could have posted the picture of the blown open wire online. i saw some interesting things in that lab, some of them no one could explain lol

@@bepamungkas damn, but I want to!
please make a video about those line to ground discharges - it is awesome. How does it work, why is it done, what does it do? thank you for all your shocking knowledge.
Your type of humour in the animations is next level 😂
I dunno why but I had a kneejerk reaction to Mehdi zapping himself when mucking about with the light bulbs, like I thought I was going to get shocked too for some reason LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
8:12 bro let his intrusive thoughts win💀💀💀
Hi Mehdi, my name is Modou Jaw, am from Gambia, am studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering, am one of your biggest fan in my country, your videos teach me a lot, and is giving me more and more passion on my field of study.
I freakin love the animations that you put in this time, so perfect

That's what I was wondering about. Won't the electricity move copper, zinc, chromium or whatever nasty ions from the electrodes into the food? Or do they not get far enouyh given that ion movement changes with polarity and thus ever stays the same for only 1/120 second?

@@andreasu.3546 the rate of migration is pretty slow, I'd be more concerned about them literally just being dissolved into the electrolyte and ending up in the food that way. Zinc and iron in low amounts are things we actually need, but in high amounts are legit dangerous
EV traction battery voltage can be 400V or higher
The grounded projectiles at the end looked impressive
7:34 Wow the reaction of the guy with the green cap in the background. Feel like he's the type to shock people just for fun.

yes.
Love your videos! And it was great getting to meet you at open sauce!
Actually there is one thing that is 100% efficient in transferring and converting energy. It possibly even has some sort of over unity, or perpetual motion, we really just have no way to tell. And as far as we know in doing this it does not break any of the laws of physics. That one thing is the universe itself. So far as far as we know it seems to gain nor lose any type of energy, it seems to always stay in a balanced state, always converting energy without any net loss. And as of yet we have no idea where the initial energy came from so some sort of over-unity system may be at play.
