Updated for ultimate comfort and playability, the Fender Player II Precision Bass serves up a rosewood or maple modern-C shaped neck with a satin finish and rolled edges. Go retro with a classic three-color sunburst or black finish, or rock one of the new, vintage-inspired colors that have never before been on a production model P Bass. The Player II Precision Bass also features an alder body, Alnico V split single-coil pickup and 20 medium-jumbo frets.
“My dad is a bass player, and he told me, ‘You don’t pick your bass, your bass picks you,’ and here I am with a P Bass,” says bassist (Olivia Rodrigo GUTS world tour), songwriter and former Guitar Center team member Moa Munoz. “To me, the quintessential P Bass sound cuts through really well in a band setting. It’s bright, punchy and warm. Many players leave the volume and tone knobs at 10-and, trust me, I’d leave mine at 11 if I could-but I’ll roll off the tone for more muted sounds. I also play with a pick to get some grit for rock riffs, my fingers for a rounder tone and my thumb when I want a real ‘plonk-y’ sound.
“I don’t think you need to spend thousands of dollars on a bass if you have a good guitar tech. For example, in the time I’ve had to beat up this Player II Precision a little, I don’t know if I could tell the difference between it and the ’60s P Bass we use at the studio.”

I’m happy with the rolled fretboard edges and rosewood. But since I just bought a Player I on clearance, I’ll wait.
I just bought one of these the other day and I love it. It's a blue one with a maple fingerboard. I went in most excited to try out one of the ones with a rosewood fingerboard, but after trying out the four different examples they had in stock I just liked the feel of the neck on the one that I chose the best. Moa's dad is right. "You don't pick your bass. The bass picks you."

Can't beat a Fender with a maple fretboard!
Sounds good, looks good. A solid p bass.
I play guitar but I’ve dabbled with bass. I’ve tried several, but the P-bass is the one that spoke to me. Glad I waited for these player 2 to buy one.
It's awesome that she mentions Steve Harris, but he doesn't just play the P- Bass he Gallops it!
Leo Fender got his design perfect from the get go. No point changing it now.
Need more left handed options!!
Biggest change (available rose wood board instead of pau ferro) isn't even mentioned? Kinda strange.

Eh, I prefer maple boards so it doesn't really matter. 🤷♂

@@alexdenton6586In fairness, if it ain't broke don't fix it...and every time they try something new it falls flat on its face. Remember the dimension bass? Anybody using a meteora?

Rolled fingerboard edges and real rosewood, if you don’t choose maple.

@@NoMoreMrNice Some of those colors look so much nicer with maple anyway

@@jasondorsey7110 They really do. I actually have the same exact bass as in the video above except mine is a Player l. The only difference is the maple is lighter in color on mine. Although I like the darker maple on the new Players, the light maple with a black and white bass looks great!
The color choices for all of the new Player ll guitars and basses are kind of lame in my opinion, with a few exceptions. If they plan on keeping the Player ll line around for a while, they should definitely release a few more options.

Birch green with the maple fretboard looks great! But it would be nice if you could choose between maple or rosewood on any body color.

@@glenny5081 I had a bandmate from years ago who got that exact guitar and played it exclusively. Dark Red Fender Stratocaster, black pickgaurd and rosewood fretboard. I remember when he showed me I was like, "That's...kind of ugly." He was like "What?!" I personally just don't like the color combo. Replace the black pickguard with a white one, or better yet, get a maple fretboard instead of rosewood, and it would look fine. But something about the red, black, with the rosewood combo seems like such a bland choice to me, like the guitar had no personality. Everyone's different. I'm sure some people think the exact opposite of me. But I remember thinking to myself, "He had so many color options and thats the one he went with? Weird. I don't get it."
yep, it's a p-bass.
Wait she said she was going strictly direct but she showed that she was plugged into the Helix board so I guess she is actually getting the actual sound from the Helix, not an actual direct from the Fender!!!!
Very boring and soft playing for an ad.
