New F1 Circuits REVEALED!
Спорт
I don’t know if you knew this or not but Formula One is kind of a big deal. The sport has been growing at an astounding rate in recent years and this year was set to feature the biggest calendar in the sports history with 24 races. Countries, companies, cities, and states and begging Liberty Media to be allowed a slot on the racing calendar and in today’s video, were going to cover some of those. Some will be unsurprising, some will be exciting, and some are downright ridiculous so don’t go anywhere.

None of them actually other than, perhaps, Kyalami. I would like to see a German GP, and certainly a French GP Nurburgring and Clement Ferrand spring to mind. Whatever, with the majority of F1 teams based around Silverstone, it would be complete madness to leave. Alternating between circuits has never been a viable option as the circuits need a yearly income. The sorting hat should be based on fan attendance at the weekend, so that would certainly insure the continuance of GP's at Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Australia and Austin.

How fast is F1 growing? This fast. I live in a country club community in the US with a lot of retirees and widows. I wore a Red Bull pull-over to an event a couple of weeks ago. One of the widows came to me and asked, “are you a Max Verstappen fan?” Several others joined in the conversation. I was surprised to learn that these 70-year-old plus widows knew a lot about F1, had arisen early that morning to watch FP1, and knew all about the track, the standings, and the race.

Doesn't matter what the FIA wants or what teams think, the physical demands and mental strain of a 32 race season is asking far too much of drivers. Don't have much preference for where the new tracks are built but maybe a system that keeps some of the classic venues while others are rotated in and out of the lineup so, that tracks change every year? SOUTH AFRICA
Road America is one that will always be a wish track for me, I've noticed quite a F1 drivers both active/retired call it a favorite among them! The circuit is the oldest in the USA, built in 1957, and is over 6km long (over 4mi!), the only things holding it back from an FIA Grade 1 from the looks of it, is that the track width does seem kinda skinny, like Monaco skinny, and F1 cars are pretty wide now, and the obvious problem, RA doesn't have permanent garages. For those wondering where the track is, RA is located in my homestate of Wisconsin, at Elkhart Lake, west of Sheboygan, Southeast from the Fox Cities, literally half way between Green Bay and Milwaukee. So like Spa in Belgium, it's kinda in the middle of no where, but it's not far from many cities where fans can stay, and even the rich people could stay at (Kohler for instance has Whistling Straits golf course, a PGA Major Championship venue!). If Miami, Vegas, and Atlantic City don't work out, F1 HAS to try Road America at least once, even if it's just an exhibition race or test track, cuz believe it or not, F1 has NEVER RACED THERE in the near 70 years of its existence! It would also help fill in the summer months cuz Wisconsin during June or July is not that hot compared to the Middle East, Miami, Vegas, COTA, among other places. RA has also drawn over 100k for NASCAR recently, and IndyCar draws well too.

@@_pawzl that's insulting, not to mention they already had F1 in NY, Watkins Glen, they haven't been there in ages cuz the track isn't good enough anymore. If Wisconsin can host an upcoming NFL draft, PGA major championships, NASCAR and Indy races, among other prestigious events, it can host an F1 race.

Balaton Park definitely piqued my interest, if it were to replace the Hungaroring. Any other tracks? Kyalami... and then that's it
I guess that the Balaton Ring would be a solution, since Hungaro Ring is very narrow. We should see overtakes, which are almost impossible on Hungaro ring now days, due to the cars being wider. And I'm really fed up with races where the only move is done at the pit-stop.

Hungaroring had the 6th most overtakes in 2022 with a number of sixty-something on multiple places of the track. Not to mention it's one of the very few curcuits where 2 stop can be a decent strategy.
F1 needs to start having a race track lottery each year before the season. This would go to tracks without a contract already or running out of a contract and with tracks that can host on the same weekend/s. This plan might need some work, but no country in my opinion should be denied because "historical" tracks "must" be in the calendar.

One track I would like to see people discussing and looking at would be an underrated one. Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic would be a sick track to host f1 due to its high downforce high speed nature and its flowing nature of its rising and falling topography Although only grade 2 it has hosted races such as 2018-2021 WTCR, World Superbikes, Formula Renault 2.0 between 2014-2018 and many Czech republic national championships to this day. Even though grade 2 it has world class spectator facilities, stands and pits and would not take much to gain grade 1 certification due to it already having grade 1 spec gravel traps, curbing, pits and only requiring a bit of tech pro barriers and some extra tyre walls, I hope the track can gain some momentum as it would make the perfect addition to the calendar.
Kyalami is definitely a no go. (And' it's more of a motorbike track now sadly... I was at the '85 and '92 SA GPs, both won by Nigel Mansell driving for Wiillams back when they were a powerhouse team.) What the video doesn't say is that Toby Venter (owner of Kyalami and the Porsche license for South Africa) wants Liberty to pay him to host the race (not the other way around as with all the other tracks.) The Provincial and National Govt don't have the funds to pay for the race. And there's no funds to pay for the necessary upgrades to the track to get it to F1 safety standards. Maybe we'll see MotoGP, WEC, more GT, type racing at Kyalami. Kenya has the Safari Rally on the WRC schedule, which is a great historic event (take note Liberty [I'd like to see France, Germany back on the calendar and Spa kept on the calendar]... and it's nice not to have everything world championship-related in Africa in SA.) If there was to be a SA GP, it's more likely to go to a street track in Cape Town. Cape Town has a Formula E street track (this track is no way fit for purpose for F1) and has hosted WRX at Killarney, which is a small club circuit.... not even at Snetterton/Oulton Park/Thruxton level.
I wonder if the teams get a larger cut of the revenue if they have more races. I'm not sure if the prize pool is based on the percentage of the revenue F1 gets or if it's a flat rate

The AC track is more of a private club and happens to be grade 1, they aren't actively seeking it as they cant host it due to other issues.
an argument for another american race: compare the united states to continental europe. the us is just as big with more people. putting another race in the united states is, depending on the location, similar to adding another race in europe. the us is a unique position of being a continent sized country with multiple population centers where having multiple races in one country doesn't hurt the possible profitability of the other. I however wouldn't have more than 5 (or 4 with mexico city) united states races. takes away from the rest of the world. a 6 north american/8 europeaan/4 austral-asian/4 middle eastern/2 wild card location mix I think is a very fair representative world championship calendar.
The season is to long and this is with dropped events (Imola flooded) What happens if you have a event and have weather cancel event. Dose it loose money, dose FIA pay them money to cover some of the loss.
[Rant on] Too many races. Bring back the V10s and introduce a limit of 16 races per year featuring: classic Hockenheim, Imola WITH Tamburello, old Silverstone start-finish line and layout, Kyalami, and secure long term contracts with venues such as Interlagos, Suzuka, Spa and Monza. Get rid of ALL run-off parking lots and replace them with grass and gravel. [Rant off] 😄

I wouldn't and I am British. Ever heard of Brands Hatch and Donnington? I would be 100% against London having a race. We don't have Germany or Turkey on the Calendar.
Manaco WAS a great track but needs to be cut
Doesn't monaco pay $0 to be on the calendar?
Wait?!!! What?!!!!! A f1 circuit in zanzibar? That same zanzibar where the music legend Freddie Mercury was born? That would be cool, they could even name the circuit as Freddie Mercury f1 circuit
