1:59:38 I remember I had a new player once who aggravated Zeus. Zeus lost his temper and obliterated the player. The player said “I made my con save so I am reduced to 1 hp”. My whole table laughed and I gently explained to this 5e player that when a god obliterates you, there is no save, there is no rez. To his credit he felt it was unfair but rolled with it and stuck around.

Welcome aboard! The BrOSR is a very small group of gamers who believe in absolute adherence to the 1e DMG/PHB rules. They also advocate 1:1 timekeeping, where the days in your game pass at the same rate as the real world. There's a lot of gamers who like parts of the BrOSR, but it's led by a goofy guy named Jeffro Johnson who thinks he's an internet edgelord. So instead of being an advocate for his cause he spends most of his time sperging out about how other games are "objectively bad". He has a small cadre of merry tards who think he's cool and manly - despite Jeffro always blabbing on about his hobby of swing dancing💃 👯‍♂️ They are too stupid to realize he drives everyone away with his cringey bs.

Wait, did that temple guard say: "That's the holy smell" or "That's the hole he smell"? 😂

If they wanted to reference the cartoons on the new covers they could have just had Hank and co on the PHB, Dungeon Master in a cool setting (it’s the book for world building) on the DMG and Tiamat fighting Venger on the MM…what they’ve done is confused and cluttered. They should have also had the balls to use a fresh art style instead of generic videogame composite digital concept art. Tyler Jacobson is a decent enough artist but I wouldn’t have given him the covers. They are clueless bean counters. Modern D&D is so lame.

If they want to really go after the final fantasy feel they'd add the savepoint mechanic and you'd wind up restarting the whole campaign because you forgot the savepoints.

George did write Fire and Blood which is what the new series is based on. there is zero reason he hasn't finished those books other than he's lazy and doesn't want to do the work.

all of those solutions for party wipe gave me explosive diarrhea. GMs... don't do this... if you HAVE to go with the party got captured trope... the rescue in the nick of time can be used ONCE with a group of players if you really feel like you have to.

My mom has become a huge tribe fan. In fact her dinner group meets a couple times a week and it's my understanding that after grandkids, the tribe is the number one topic
