New DIY Mini Feeders with Sliding Bait Clip - Now Hookbaits Stay Where You Put Them
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I am testing my new DIY Mini Feeders which are fitted with a Sliding Bait Clip. The purpose of this clip is to hold the hookbait in exactly the right position inside the feeder bowl and keep it there.
The sliding clip also allows the hookbait to rise up in the water as a fish sucks the bait in, so any fish which are not directly in contact with the bait can suck it up from a distance and still get the hook in its mouth.
If necessary, the clip can hold the bait securely, instead of allowing it to slide, thus providing an alternative method of presentation.
Did it work? Lets find out!

Method feeder fishing is my favorite. I like your take on the clip. I use Spotted Fin sticky gels to the same effect to keep the bait inside.

For about a year now I have modified a Duro bango by using a float stop on the hook length and a small slit in the bango body works well.

Thanks John. I have seen another video on KZread which does the same thing. It was also my first thought as an answer to this issue, but then I decided to go down the sliding line route which seems to work well. I'll be doing tank tests in this weeks video to see how well it actually performs.
Those are sitting on the hands bites Den 🙂 Brilliant idea the MAP ones are being released on 20th May at £3.25 each on preoder for any UK subscribers .I will try some see how I get on Won't be till end of May though .He or She had other ideas about the photo though

Great idea Den and great fishing ! What are the rubber bits of the clip?
@FishingwithDen
Жыл бұрын
It is 2.5mm outside diameter hollow silicone rubber, but I'm sure plenty of other things like old pole elastic would work Ovidiu.

Hi Den! I have an ideea and I want to try it and maybe you can also. What if instead of this temporary stopper that you created from plastic and rubber, you will try to temporary fix (stick) with a sticky small ball of groundbait directly on a edge of the method feeder. The sticky groundbait it can be used some usual one or maybe some sticky groundbait used for fishing hook. It can increase the power of atraction and can fix the rig for a short time to assure the fish hooking.

Hi mate. Your explanation is not exactly clear to me I'm afraid. Why don't you post a short video on your channel and send me a link.

Something like a dissolvable bait putty?
@tadiadi
Жыл бұрын
@@loursb no. A small part of disolvable groundbait but something sticky and the purpose of that is just to keep the mono rig stick to the method for 10minute let's say. I didn't use bait putty but i found on internet that is based on tungsten.
@FishingwithDen
Жыл бұрын
@@loursb Possibly?
@loursb
Жыл бұрын
Not the actual bait putty based on tungsten but something dissolvable and eatable by the fish with the same consistency and stickiness ? More like a dough paste maybe? I have tried in the past with melting pva floss to keep the hooklength where I wanted it for a time but is fiddly and the hooklength gets free around the time the groundbait start swelling and moving. Definitely not worth.
Well done den, perhaps you should sell these ? I would def buy a few

I like the idea Den it’s ingenious. 👏 For me I would always use the shortest length of line in the clip for the bolt effect then when the line slips from the clip when you hook the fish you got the cushion of full hook length, be great in the colder months when they’re bit finicky. Korum use a similar idea with the clips on there grub feeders
@FishingwithDen
Жыл бұрын
@@geoff738 Thanks Geoff. I'm not convinced about 2" hooklengths. I always feel that there is not enough travel for them to get a good hook hold in the fishes mouths. I haven't seen the Korum feeders, so I'll take a look now.
@geoff738
Жыл бұрын
@@FishingwithDen if your using a 4 inch hook length and then you pinch the line in the clip so there’s 1 inch from the clip to the hook, so a short bolt rig, then when your playing the fish the line breaks out of the clip so in fact your playing the carp back on a 4 inch hook length… the best of both worlds. I also wouldn’t use a 2 inch hook length …sorry for the confusion Den lol
