This young mans father makes the false assumption that North Korea is a "modern" nation and that they have "top notch" medical facilities. It just doesn't make any sense at all as to WHY anyone would want to go to North Korea in the first place.

Obviously NK tortured Otto to the point where he couldn’t reveal secrets about the North Korean government. It was enough to keep him silent and alive for the time needed to get him home. Imagine what Otto could have shared about NK if he was still alive and communicable.

From Mr. Otto Warmbier's tragedy, we have to learn that North Korea is a pandemonium which is ruled by not humans but the devil. Our commonsense in civilized countries doesn`t work at all in this empire of evil. We have to make our effort to eliminate this disgusting regime on earth in order to save 24 million misruled North Koreans.

The autopsy showed no broken/healing bones. They probably used a torture method of something heavy on his body, that slowed down his breathing so much that his brain was deprived of oxygen. Being that he was tall, strong, healthy American they thought he could withstand the torture. Electronic shocks to his foot, magnified the pain. Causing his heart and brain to fail. His body didn't have bed sores and they tried their best to nurse him back to health. They didn't want him to die, but they could not help him to recover. So sad for the family. I don't believe the person in the video is Otto. It was a set up. He was young, naive and was supposed to be used as a bargaining tool. So sad, so wicked.

Very heartbreaking story. Many comment that he shouldn't have gone to North Korea. Although true nobody deserves to have this happen to them. It's too bad the previous administration didn't do more sooner, when they had the opportunity. (If you hear all the efforts the family made and their opinion, which I note was not mentioned.)

It was staged ottos alive. Otto was used by the government. It was a set up by the governments to make them have to meet a year later and sign an agreement. Otto set it up in North Korea so his friends had access to the 5th floor. They have no internet in North Korea so no one would be dumb enough to risk going to the fifth floor without checking what happens if they did. Otto convinced them saying nothing would happen and was able to get them access. The guards were taken away for 30 minutes while they went there and camera men who monitors 5th floor where told to not do anything. They then let them all go to the airport. They made sure to let all of the others leave except Otto so they can tell the media in usa. They let all his friends go with there mobile and camera footage. They had a grainy image taking a poster and photos of the 5th floor showing a nuke heading for USA. If it wasn’t a set up of course they’d take there mobiles and cameras. Its so silly to think they’d just take Otto and do nothing else. To be able to make the plan work they made the footage Of Otto stealing the poster grainy so North Korea had no proof it’s him and didn’t really need to charge him. That way he didn’t do anything wrong and can stay safe while the plan unfolds. They could then let him go back to USA as they can’t convict him by there laws. He was hiding and wasn’t harmed in North Korea. He was acting the whole time. When he got back to USA he was taken away as quick as possible. There’s no footage of Otto after he returned to USA other than just him laying there for a brief time as they don’t want to show him and his parents or talk to much about it so they can fool everyone.

CINCINNATI (AP) - Otto Warmbier, an American college student who was released by North Korea in a coma last week after almost a year and a half in captivity, died Monday, his family said. The 22-year-old "has completed his journey home," the family said in a statement. "Unfortunately, the awful, torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today," his parents said. Doctors had described his condition as a state of "unresponsive wakefulness" and said he suffered a "severe neurological injury" of unknown cause. His father, Fred Warmbier, said last week that he believed Otto had been fighting for months to stay alive to return to his family. Their statement Monday said he looked uncomfortable and anguished after returning June 13, but his countenance later changed. "He was peace. He was home, and we believe he could sense that," they said. Warmbier was convicted of subversion after he tearfully confessed that he had tried to steal a propaganda banner while visiting with a tour group from China. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor in North Korea. The University of Virginia student was held for more than 17 months. His family said they were told he had been a coma since soon after his March 2016 sentencing. Doctors said he suffered extensive loss of brain tissue and "profound weakness and contraction" of his muscles, arms and legs. His eyes opened and blinked but without any sign that he understood verbal commands or his surroundings. North Korea said he went into a coma after contracting botulism and taking a sleeping pill. Doctors in Cincinnati said they found no active sign of botulism or evidence of beatings. His parents told The Associated Press in a statement the day of his release that they wanted "the world to know how we and our son have been brutalized and terrorized by the pariah regime " and expressed relief he had been returned to "finally be with people who love him." Fred Warmbier praised his son's "performance" and President Donald Trump's administration. He was critical of the approach to his son's situation taken by former President Barack Obama's administration.

I’ve been studying phycology ,body language and medicines for over 30 years. I can tell by his body language NK scripted the entire poster bs. They tortured him to say it. He also seems a bit mechanic. I was watching other videos, him picking up the pen to sign a paper when he was detained. It doesn’t seems right. I’m guessing he got drugged with some sort of chemical injection. You would also expect better video camera quality from the security camera on the 5th floor. And How is parents describe him after being detained for 18 months gives me an idea of what they did to him. If you are curious I will give you a reply at your own risk.

America sounds like hell when it comes to crime rating, while Europe feels very safe too me (in comparison). Sad to see how you Americans sit in your own little bubble and rank yourself #1 in everything, when in reality a lot of your standards are low-medium rated.

plaumtothashizz i agree completely. In fact I moved out of usa because I got tired of the loonacy. My neighbors were meth head strippers. Sometimes their drunken friends would fight outside the apartment door. I called police a few times. The police station was 2 minutes away by car. They never even came. Usa sucks.

He wasnt used to not talking to people for more then a day so, he probably developed paranoid ideas of possible life in prison, and may have even tried to hurt himself, or caused him to make up those words about secret society's and "someone" asking him to steal the poster ideas..
