New Criminal Law Bills 2023 Explained: What Are The Key Changes? | Criminal Bills 2023

New Criminal Law Bills 2023 Explained: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the passage of three criminal justice bills that will replace as many colonial-era acts as a watershed moment in India’s history. The three criminal bills - The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and The Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in 1860. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita replaces the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 1973. Opposition is mostly suspended. minimum 10 percent quorum is required in either house of parliament for meeting until parliament by law provides otherwise. so there are ruling party MPs in the house. why they even bother to introduce these bills in parliament. just issue an ordinance by presidential order. there are no debates, no public views, no experts, nothing...Ruling party minister will come tell this is the law and you have to follow this otherwise you are anti-national. this is new democracy.

I'm fed up of this voice vote thing. Isn't it necessary to have a wide consultation before introducing such a critical law?
