My only criticism of the event is that it sucks that f2p players have to choose between a cosmetic or a game changing item. Hopefully both are released into the shop at some point cause it would suck if players starting after this event or currentley taking a break from the game missed out on the giant king equipment.

I'm a bit worried about the limited hero equipment though. Heroes will be stronger only if you do limited events, and if you miss them you could be missing out. Some strategies might even revolve around limited equipment.

Yeah, rarity should be only rarity. They shouldnt be better than lower rarity

As a few others in this comment section have noted, I'm extremely concerned with what they're doing with epic equipment, between locking it behind a limited time event, making it's stats objectively stronger than other equipment at the same level, how strong that ability is and the whole rarity system in general. This time it's pretty obtainable *if* you play enough, which is an issue in itself, but where does it go from here? When will this equipment return? Is current equipment even worth upgrading if it's just going to get powercrept out of existance? Will there be legendary equipment that's even more broken? When do they start dipping their toes into outright selling it with IAP? How much of a disadvantage will you be at if you miss the latest item? Equipment was incredibly exciting as a concept, however, if this is how they're going to treat it going forward then I'm really disappointed. Clash of Clans until now had an amazing balance between paying and playing, especially compared to the vast majority of mobile games. You could of course just drop a fat stack and get to max TH16, but not only will you have not learned years worth of how things work or strategies needed to get into bases, but you will have also missed out on the journey, which is the main appeal of the game IMO. And they're still making so much money from the game but compared to Clash Royale, I didn't really mind that at all. I hope CoC can work out a great balance for equipment in the future.

That's why I'm saving all my ores and not upgrading anything to max anytime soon.

Personally I don't like the idea of releasing equipments as an event specific item since it's a key part of the offensive side of coc. Also wondering how new players are going to get access to it after this event....if they can't get access to it after this event that's gonna be a big downer

I really liked the last event that on f2p if you grind enough you can get the hero skin. However in this update you'd be 90 short, so no skins for heroes no matter what for f2p players that doesn't buy from the cookie bp. To me that is why this event to me is worse than the event before with Halloween madness

I kind of feel like they shouldve made the ''bonus cookies'' uncapped, since the store items are capped anyways, people would just play/grind more to get as many rewards as possible. Kind of pointless to have a cap on both the ''amount of cookies you can earn'' and ''the amount of things you can buy'' since most people usually go for the skin, theres nothing else to buy with the left over medals, no statues, no bonus resources and not even the epic gear without spending money, but even when spending money you cant buy the skin, gear and maybe a book. Or at least make the paid version of the event have uncapped bonus reward

Thing is, I was able to complete the event in 30mins f2p, which is 16000 sweet elixer, if I were to continue that rate, I would be able to get about 4000 cookie medals per hour with the bonus cookie medals if they were unlimited

@@test.0126 well even with 4000 cookie medals per hour it would take you 21-22 hours straight to buy out the entire shop which is 85,530 cookies, and since most people play for an hour or if even that, the event being 2 weeks gives just about enough time to grind every item in the store

They could introduce "magically fortified walls" which can not be destroyed by spells or units only by siege machines. Players could choose from geometrical shapes (like cross, rectangles, deltoid etc. like in Tetris), but the magically fortified walls could not touch each other (like in Torpedo). Players could unlock more and more sections with higher town halls and upgrades. The attacker could see some of these or all of these special wall pieces. Maybe a new spell or passive aura could reveal the hidden ones. This new type of passive defense could shake-up the strategies and give back the meaning of upgrading walls while it could give fun on lower town halls too.

I've been experimenting since the th16 update and more so since this event started. I find that the giant gauntlet is only advantageous over the other 2 equipment if it's leveled up past lvl 15. Until then, you're better off with the default equipment. I've also been using the fox a lot and I have it maxed and I just don't see the hype. I get way better results with diggy on my champion. It seems all of the paid influencers on YT are giving it praise but real world game play just doesn't live up to the hype. Just for reference, I'm in Legends League and I usually sit around the 5600-5700 trophy range.

Loved the way you laughed when you were explaining the gauntlet for the barbarian king 😂

Good to know f2p can get the epic equipement as well. They should have a way to get them after the event ends tho, fomo isnt something i like to see

that's definitely really gross that theyre making permanent equipment available in events only. that's really gross and toxic for future returning players. if it was just an event only equipment that disappears after the evet, that would be much better. Unless the equipment is easily available once the event ends.

i almost never do home base attacks, i literally just use them for looting with s-goblins, i really hope we get some builder base events in the future because that's the part of the game i enjoy and it's seriously underserved with events and content. a buildbase war system would be awesome too eventually

Thays great news!! On ONLY 2 days i finished the hallowen event i think its time to do and round 2!

I think people are talking about different things, the new equipment will be PERMANENT, but it will not be available after the event ends but will most likely become available after a certain amount of time in the shop. I would still get the equipment now

So for average th13 it will take 480 starry to max one epic which is equivalent to 5 months and 10 days thats in case you are back to back war and wining all of them thats for just one equipment. Event is nice but either tune down the price for upgrade or increase war starry ore gain.

Next update they should make the defense buildings can collect the 1/4 of the original cost of elixir of the troops they killed so that players could keep up with the high cost of upgrades
