Car battery died after I left the lights on my Honda S2000 over night with a Compustar security system. Tried boosting it but have no life at all. Has to be something with the compustar. Does it need to be reset or something. Is it a security thing after the battery is disconnected or dies?

The most annoying thing about remote start is that the REAR defrost function with most older (non smart/app based) cars will simply not initiate when remote started. Unless you have a really old car with a hard physical button that changes the position when flipped, you won’t be able to defrost rear window when started. Most cars have non physical “touch” sensitive buttons for the rear defrost so you can’t leave it in ON position when turning the car off the previous night etc. My 2006 forester has hard “real”/ physical buttons / switches for front defrost / heat position, heated seats and heated wipers BUT the button for REAR defrost is a touch sensitive section of one of the climate control dials. So there is no way to leave it in on position physically. Such a shame. You still have to get in and turn the REAR defroster on. This also means that the heated Mirrors will also not initiate because most cars have that function tied to REAR defrost function. Any tricks to fix this? (I am hoping that the forester might have the heated mirrors also tied to the front wiper deicing function…. If that’s the case, the mirrors will also start the heated function Any tricks to avoid this annoying situation with remote start on such vehicles?

Hi, yes you can "trigger" the heated accessories upon remote start, but this requires wiring to be made between the remote starter, and the accessories you wish to control. But yes, this is possible on your vehicle.

So once the car starts up, do you still need to use the original key to turn the ignition switch or do you just get in and go?

Late reply but yes, you have to turn the key to "ON" to drive. If you put your foot on the brake to shift into gear, the car will shut off

Anyone knows who is 4905 different Than 4902 or 4900 compustar . I don’t understand other Than price is too high for 4905

The CS4905-S comes with the FT-DC3-S as the main controller, which is the all in one controller with bypass module built in, and the capability to have t-harness connection use (using an iDatalink t harness accessory not included with the CS4905-S), this is why it is higher priced that a regular CS4900S or CS4902S

LOL! Why would anyone want to run their cars/trucks for more then 15Min? It a wast of gas...if you're not ready too go in 15Min then why bother starting the vehicle? Makes no sense...even in the winter month and very cold, 5-10 Minutes run times are more then enough to warm it up.

I don't know where he lives but in Minnesota 15 Min is plenty of times to defrost any windows. Well, unless it is freezing rains mixed. Regardless, you'll still have to physically remove the snow covers on the cars anyway...defrosting alone will not works.
