Sadly I can't start using penpot until it supports component states and variants. Current solution is too cumbersome and not intuitive. Am I missing something? If so please help. I've watched several tutorials on the new components in 2.0 and so far I have not found a way to do this. All I want for now is the ability for hover and active states for my buttons. This should be a basic feature for any UX/UI tool. I would really like to switch from Figma, but until this feature is added I can't.
Hoping component variants are being worked on 😥
Any plans for the variants?
Is 2.0 officially out and available?

yes it is
Variants instead of nesting should be an industry standard. I hope this is just a middle step to achieve them.
