a PRIMARCH going in to melee a bunch of generic Chaos Cultists is possibly the best bit of overkill i've ever seen in a battle report that doesn't involve Knights.

Funny enough I played against DA yesterday and the Lion only killed one unit in the game which was a unit of scouts that couldn't run fast enough lol

I love how much fun you have playing, making gun sounds and silly voices. And i like how you subtly put new units in focus and in the action, while also not decimating them too quickly so we don’t see how they perform. Finally, you never get too serious or emotional. That’s hard for me when I start to lose!

The callout on the Chaos Termies on the box is an EXCELLENT intro

Fine game over all guys! But I do have one pointer for Mr Pointing hehe. Bile is chaos undivided so he cannot get the slaanesh mark and so cannot his bodyguard unit. So no crit hits on 5's for them but reroll 1's to hit.

This intro with Beard and his anger at GW artwork cracked me up

That's what i've called the lad since 4th ed!

Damn the Dark Angels got nerfed hard considering they had a 45% win rate BEFORE the changes. I can guarantee that wasnt with the Unforgiven task force either.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again - Fletcher's work on the Lion is phenomenal!

It's great to see The Beard back with his immaculate Chaos Space Marines, the Iron Warriors-... wait. That's not right...

Im really digging the studio guys, your display shelves are top notch and id love to build something like that. You guys have had so much influence on my game play, when i started playing in the beginning of 9th ed you guys were one of the first channels i found and have been my favorite since. Thank you guys for the entertainment and the information, and some of the best personalities in 40k.

Loved this battle. Also the players are so fun to watch - their table joking was hilarious and the battle was a great one!

Using the current points costs the Dark Angels were only at 1700, so this tiny list is going up 300 points, yeesh

As a Dark Angel player I feel after the rules that came out I will be playing Custodes for the mean time .I’m still going to buy the new Terminators though . Hopefully they come out in their own box . With 5 in the box or so . With the new upgrade spruce . Can’t wait to paint them up though. I’ll try a few games and pray for an update to the rules and a points reduction .

@C1umsyJester best thing to do is to go with rule of cool, if u like the lore and look of theirs keep painting because eventually there will be rule changes or points drops etc everything changes so just go with collecting aspect rather than playing one.

@@mati12554 this is true, I originally collected them after reading the books. My fave factions are emperors children, dark angels, sisters of battle. Since emperors children aren’t a thing really and dark angels just got the lion it seemed obvious to me who I should pick

@@C1umsyJester I've been painting for ages, super slow. I've almost finished 5 knights and 10 DW terminators as well as a few other bits. On seeing the Codex I'm wondering if I can just run them as Fallen.

I’m not even a DA player and I feel bad for them. Why have they gutted & nerfed them so much?!? This makes me very nervous for power armour codecies moving forwards. You leave CSM alone GW!

Now that you mention it, I am a Tau player and I am EXTREMELY nervous about what they’ll do to Crisis suits. I know we Tau aren’t exactly wearing power armor, but if GW made maces D2 what will they do to my Crisis suits’s gear?!

@@DJROCKSTAZ Our Crisis Suit gear already is quite crappy apart from Cyclics and Fusion Blasters (if you take Farsight). My fear is actually that they might go down hard on Cyclics in terms of how many you can equip, since they seem to be going in a "you can use what's in the box" direction with 10th. And there are no Cyclics in a Crisis Suit box, there's one (!!!) in the Commander box. Now, if they would update certain boxes with the right amount of gear that the models can actually use (also looking at you, Drukhari Scourges), that would be a fine thing. I'd also be fine with mass Cyclics going away if they buffed Plasma/Fusion a bit. And for Aunvar's sake, remove that dumb -1 to hit on split firing.

Beard, just curious why you didn't tank shock the termies with the Helbrute T1? And not sure if you caught it later in the game but your Chosen have 3 wounds so you'd have lost quite a few less in T1 melee. Just an FYI for next time bud.

Emperor's Mercy this is like the fourth time Beard has forgotten his dice at the pre-game roll-off.

Subscribed a long time ago, stay for the content like this ❤ I will stay loyal to dark angels but wish they hadn't been nerfed so much.

Brilliant content absolutely love it. Chaos terminators also have anti inf 4+ on combi so I think a few of the Chaplin unit should have been damaged on first shootout. But also Lion has fight first which means he could have interrupted and fought the Chaplin unit before he got the chance to fight him.

I also noticed the odd terminator lord loadout on the box, hope that means a new one is coming.

Games Workshop woefully missed the mark on this one. Which genius came up with the awful idea to make Deathwing Knights capped at 5 model squads AND do less damage??? Either make them hit hard capped at 5 models OR nerf their damage and let them stay in units of 10... NOT BOTH

Not too sure about the rules and negative response i have seen online with this dark angels release. That being said it is always nice to see friends having a fun game.

With Beards chaos terminators when shooting with combi weapon wouldn’t a 4+ on a wound roll vs the death wing terminator infantry cause a devastating wound or am I misreading the rules ?

I pretty sure combi bolters only hit on 4+ too so with the plus 1 would have been 3’s and yeah they are 3 wounds would would have to be chosen undivided because of Fabius Bile

I believe even when your using precision your still wounding against the bodygaurd units toughness because that is the "units toughness" and your wounding the unit before you alocate attacks on a model by model basis and roll then one at a time. You have the option for fast rolling but 10ed is designed for dice rolls to be 1 at a time, gives you a little more control when your allocating those attacks.

An example is typhus leading 20 poxwalkers. Typhus is T6 and poxwalkers are T4, when your attacking this unit your using the T4 of the poxies. Same goes with precision because you first hit, then wound, then allocate attacks in that order. And precision alows you to allocate attacks to characters instead of normal combat. I've heard people say that when you allocate all those attacks on the characters and you kill them the remaining attacks don't spill over to the bodyguard unit, this is not accurate. You can allocate them one at a time. I like to roll them in multiples of how ever much it will take for me to kill that character.

Obsidious Malax the Chaos black Legion Lord from the Blackstone Fortress expansion had a hammer. Could be this Black Legion warband is his.

Ouch that profane zeal on Cypher against the Lion hurts because Cypher is Chaos Undivided, meaning he got full rerolls to wound not just reroll 1s, the Lion might’ve died right there

Deathwing terminator unit lost the option, but you can still take standard terminators and assault terminators and they gain the deathwing keyword

Love seeing Fabius Bile on the table. That novel trilogy as well as Genefather were great novels and Bile is a pretty likeable feller.

There was a rumor about csm box set that ll include terminator lord so i assume if its a csm box set with termi lord whats better than adding termies with a new weapon kit. They did this with Legionaries.

How many Points is the Deathwing Assault box? I'm just getting into the Hobby. My brother has a Box of the Tau Combat Patrol. Is the Deathwing Assault box a good match for this, or will I have more points than the Tau Combat Patrol? Is that Katie I hear from time to time by the way?

You can play combat patrol vs combat patrol, they have rules for it. DW box does not so you'd have to play regular 40k so idk about balance

Unfortunately the cost of producing our Battle Reports is high, and for AoS the interest/returns weren’t really enough to justify it, especially after the last GHB. However we've moved it to be part of a group of Seasonal shows, allowing us to do other formats or systems (currently Old World), as well as potentially returning to things when interest picks up again (such as a new edition for AoS)

Codex sucks. Run for the index. Nice battle report!

@@Fluxram I've lost 40-50% of my army due to firstborn culls and cuts to the Deathwing - its not knee jerk. I don't care the slightest bit about points and competitive balance. My army only works in friendly settings anyhow due to 10th.

@@matthewblomquist6090 Its lost models for me, not points balance. There is no change coming for me. 60% of my Ravening is legends in this edition. My Deathwing has a lot of painted units that are no longer legal or don't have rules anymore. My collection only works if my opponent accepts Legends - and in that environment I really can also then start doing homebrew and whatever else to increase my enjoyment thus I don't need to follow 10th that has been pretty bland in my opinion.

It always throws me off because the current, standard Chaos Lord ONLY has a Hammer as a melee weapon

It’s an interesting one and we go over it in the Faction Focus On Demand - Ravenwing certainly have sharp talons but some of the choices around Deathwing seem a tad odd - when they fight something on their terms though as you’ll see later in the report they can still pack a mighty punch! - Bard

@@tabletoptactics For one shining moment my 40k army and my 30k DA armies perfectly overlapped, same models could be used in many ways for different play styles and game missions now the all the outriders/bikers are in legends, attack bikes gone, relic contemptors and Leviathans, Spartans all binned, it just doesn’t make sense from a lore perspective. 9th was the last gasp of the old setting, and now on top of that the army is objectively worse on the table top with the models that we have left Make it make sense 😂

youve got to be cooked in the head to actually LIKE the new codex! Its a flaming pile of rubbish! 290 for 5 knights capped at only 5 and no d3 maces?? D1 power swords but bladeguard get d2? What were they thinking?
