I love that rendering. I would need for it to have the 6.2L V8, REAR drive, and it MUST be a true 2 door HARDTOP. the rear windows MUST fully retract. NO B pillar. Give me that, and I just might buy it. The only upside of an EV version is that an electric version would absolutely scream. I've ridden in a Tesla crossover, and that thing sure felt faster than my Corvette. But I love me a V8!

This thing is BEAUTIFUL! I hope it comes to life. I've always loved the Chevy Impala. And as much as I hate the idea of a dumbed down electric version. I hate even more the horrible things GM has built over the last few years (after 1996), and then slapped the Impala badge on it. Impala was more than just a fast car. It was about styling and luxury that was affordable to the average person. To see this rendering gives me a glimmer of hope that the Impala could return to its former glory - albeit with modern technology under the hood. I hope if they do build this, they'll take a page from the Dodge Brother's concept of American Muscle and make this car a real contender against the likes of the Charger, and the Challenger. Not everyone wants to drive a 2 seater race car, Chevy! (I'm looking at you Corvette) Some of us have families now. But, we're not dead! Make us feel alive again - and stop building front wheel drive Fords with Chevrolet emblems on them!

I completely disagree. Growing up, my father had, in fact he still has, a 1963 Impala convertible. It is a two door and looks amazing. It does have one modification. From the factory it had the 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. He has been a mechanic pretty much since he could walk so he change that to be a floor shifted 3 speed manual. My guess is the only one of those I'll ever see. Anyway, back then, the two door Impala looked amazing. I think it would be great to see a full size car as a two door once again.

I was actually caught off guard by the 2004 Impala when it came out. I hadn't heard anything about it but suddenly one day in a grocery store parking lot I spotted a taxi cab that was already employing the new Impala. I had to get a good look at it and discover that it was a Chevy Impala with the sweet semi-hidden rounded quad tail lights. Looked badass at the time and I was surprised a taxi company would use such a new car for that purpose.

I really enjoy your channel, and this evening I perused the Buick vision, and then the Corvette Zora video, and now the Impala SS. I resonated your vision, in many respects, because of my past choices, and the well executed forward projection of your design concepts, built upon that past mystique, and the possibilities that lay in waiting . This following statement is not about me and my toys, but about past intersections with cars that resonated with me over the years, and owned, and built. In 1977 my neighbor and I restored a 1969 Corvette T Top to my vision, 454, M21, L88 Hood, 15/8 rally wheels, and then after 40 years, handed it over to him for what he did to help me. My next interim ride was a 2005 SS Impala, just because it resonated at the time, because it was family time, and not ME Time. A great all around car, thirty MPG on the highway, and now my son owns it. Next in line was an 87 Grand National that we did a body off build from the stripped frame up, methanol injected, built and installed the engine/transmission before the body drop, a one owner we bought it from, and the best of both worlds. Hard to describe how docile this car is, and when it is go time, few cars can touch it. Still have it... but then a year ago, I found my 2017 SS (Holden) Silver Ice Metallic and oh my goodness, does that car check all the boxes. I could go on about this one. My mom, years ago told me, that if you want a car, you know what to do... from 16 years old building a 55/ then 56/ then 66 SS Chevelle, 72 Nova SS my first new car, and then the ones listed above. All this is shared, to let you know that your video(s) really resonated with me. Your respect to those of us, who in the past, who had a passion, that were able to follow through with a balance between family and financial concerns, but a great desire to go to the next level, especially during limited times of money, technology and parts, so to speak. That after all these years, those cars still leave a mark even to this very day, in which people like yourself, recognize, appreciate, and can share an awesome and well produced vision of both worlds, back then, up to now and into the future. Great job....

I think it would be really nice. Love the brown leather interior. Id like to see it come rwd with an awd option, would also like it so atleast have a v8 option, even if its a smaller v8 like a 4.6 and they can just throw a supercharger on it to easily make 500hp. That would be a dream though. Itll probably be a fwd ev car 🥲

I agree - if they can make a low price big engine car for the marketplace it would be great but why compete with their own products ie Camaro? The GM brand that needs a boost is Cadillac. How about they go upscale make it a Cadillac Eldorado - luxurious but still simple enough in std trim to meet price goals, Optional V8 or hybrid. Leather standard with optional levels of soundproofing. Another smart move would be to design the car to be easily serviced instead of (Ex.) having to take the whole Dash off certain cars (@&!!?*) to service the air conditioner. Then the car mags and reviewers would give GM extra praise and the non-wealthy could afford to buy and maintain them.

Please build! I come from Germany. And I love US cars. I find it very sad how the US car industry has developed. I myself have a 1970 Pontiac Firebird RamAir III and several other US Cars. In Germany and the EU there is a huge US car fan community. But what has come out of the US in the last few years is just terrible. There are exceptions like the Camaro, Challenger, Charger and Mustang, which has also become a world car, and a few exceptions that I find cool, like the Monte Carlo SS from the last series. The pickups are also typically American. But when I look at Buick, who just copy the European Opel, it's enough to make me cry. Find your own design language again and don't go along with this one-size-fits-all approach.

New cars are nothing but disposable trash. I would love to have a 1970 Firebird. It looks like my next car is going to be a 1972 Doge Dart Swinger 340 with a 727 Torqueflite.

I lived in Germany back in the 60s..die sechzigen Jahre..and the American cars were absolutely spectacular back then by comparison. The quality was world class despite false claims of the opposite and European governments impose high tariffs and gasoline taxes to keep them off of your roads since many of them were priced competitively. I still get nostalgic when I see an American classic parked on a cobblestone street. Now, you guys are buying them. Wish you could have bought them before. I would like to keep them HERE NOW. My pristeen 66 Caprice went to Sweden. It deserves to stay here where it belongs.

@@kenglavens6455 Yes, that's right. The quality of the cars from the 60s and 70s was really good. Some of them were just too big for Europe. In the 80s and 90s they were known as pimp cars. I would have loved to have spent the time in the 70s in the USA... But what you built in the USA in the 50s, 60s, 70s and even in the 80s was simply unique and only existed in the USA. At that time, the vehicles still had character. Other countries tried to copy it. In the past, you could still tell the difference between a German, French, Japanese or US car. But what comes out of the US now is simply a cheap copy from Europe and Japan. With a few exceptions. Now all cars look the same, no matter which continent they come from. A nasty one-size-fits-all. But a lot of Americans also like German cars. BMW, Mercedes and Audis are very popular. They just bore me. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I always wondered what it look like if you blended the last Gen of impala with some of the styling of the late sixties. I think the front end on this one would look better with that treatment and the rear-end would be greatly improved. And I may receive hate for this, but I think it would be awesome to bring back the wagon. Oh and put these back to rearwheel drive. This Impala SS concept rendering is very nice indeed, and though it technically does make sense for it to be a 2-door historically speaking, considering what Chevy has done with the Impala name in recent years, this concept looks more like it would more closely fit the bill for a Monte Carlo. A recent 2-door sporty but cruisy car from Chevy that took the roads by storm in the 2000s. Give it the signature mountain ridge swoops on the sides and bam, you've got a Monte Carlo.
