Props to his parents because Nathan is an inspiration. He's also phenomenal at public speaking - always choosing his words wisely. He beat Yuzuru for years, and was always smart to maintain humility. I don't think he'll be back to skating. Why would he come back, he has won everything and gotten so many opportunities from the sport already. To maintain the level he skates at (with all those quads) for four years, with more sacrifices and putting his life on hold doesn't make much sense. Especially since he's clearly shown that he is gifted in so many other areas. I'm very thankful he gave the sport the 6 years on the senior scene.

While I miss his skating terribly, I will respect all his decisions regarding the future. I believe that even if he doesn't return to the game, he will definitely achieve in other fields, because he is such a hard-working and persistent person

Nathan Chen can do many other things besides figure skating. This "new chapter" has been going on for almost a year now.

This "new chapter" is still happening because he hasn't finished school - he has not gotten his degree yet. And the next Olympics is 4 years away so he has time to finish school and get back into training for it if that is what he decides to do.

I don't know if he will be satisfied with going to a 9-5 job after graduating. If his health allows him to he may be returning to figure skating. If not returning to skating he will most likely continue his education to get his masters or even the doctorate degree.
