CBS makes the music and image packages available to all CBS affiliates; it is optional for non-O&O's. Meredith's KMOV/St. Louis picked it up this past month, changing their logo a bit to incorporate the Eye into it for the first time in several years and some other modifications.

The Group W stations like WJZ and KDKA used to have way more autonomy.

WGCL-TV in Atlanta WGCL-TV, virtual channel 46, is a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned by the Meredith Local Media subsidiary of Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith Corporation

Not for long unfortunately. Once the sell to gray is confirmed by the FCC get ready for some more changes at that station.

I love both the owned and operated television stations and the channels that is owns and operates by the CBS Television Stations, the division of CBS Corporation.

Harrison Fletcher CBS licenses it to them.

Prior to 2017 FLNN in Lyons had the same exact logo as KCNC in this clip; the 4 for Lyons was changed at 4 pm Denver time on December 31, 2016.

3:34 WFOR is pretty much the only station that reverses the colors of the number and the network logo. The network logo is gold, not silver.

Note that the WBZ letters are in squares reminiscent of the BBC.

WCCO definitely has the most unique opening with using Enforcer NG1, the previous graphic's station ID animation with these graphics. But since I'm from Pittsburgh, KDKA has the best open.

Coincidentally Overture was first commissioned by ‘CCO competitor KSTP.

Does anyone notice the difference between the WCCO intro and the other CBS stations seen here? They use a different verson of the theme!

I hope KIRO gets a CBS O&O, like KCPQ got an O&O from FOX.

KDKA has the same animation and text elements as WCBS except the "KDKA" text above the logo.

In the beginning of clip, there is a CBS Reality id, which is co-owned by AMCNI and CBS International.

Why is there such variance in the volume? One is at normal volume; I can barely hear the next one.

Fun Fact: Most of these openings use a theme named "Metropolis", composed by Gari Media Group under the "CBS Enforcer News Package" CD #16 with around 33 cuts.

The Best Opening on this list WCCO-TV... 02:34 missing WJZ-Baltimore btw...even though they didn't follow any O&O mandates until about 3yrs ago

WJZ Baltimore Does Not Use Enforcer Theme It Use The Chroma Cues Until 2017

WCCO News Minneapolis ident was by @Winnipeg TV News Channel

CBS O&O WJZ-TV (CBS 13)in Baltimore, MD is suppose to be getting a brand new set soon. They are now called "WJZ13 News". Hopefully they will get "The Enforcer" theme music also.

There seems to be a couple of problems: WDJT-TV is NOT owned by CBS, the station is only affiliated by it. The owner of this station is Weigel Broadcasting. WGCL-TV has the same problem, with the station being owned by Meredith Corporation.

WJZ doesn't use those graphics, but it's owned and operated by CBS.

Those were probably from their days as part of Group W Broadcasting, which did own a few stations.. You can tell by the lettering. Group W also owned KPIX in San Francisco. They changed their number 5 to match the Group W font and they kept it. Group W, at one time, owned Filmation (the producers of 'He-Man', 'Ghostbusters', 'BraveStar', et al.

Thats my favorite stations heres the complications of all CBS Affiliates from New York to Atlanta

WIVB Channel 4 in Buffalo, NY is a CBS affiliate, but is owned by LIN Broadcast.

Not anymore: LIN was purchased by Media General, which then was purchased by Nexstar.

I think the Enforcer themes are a CBS thing. I know some non CBS O&O's have used some forms of The Enforcer theme at some point in their News opens. Some of them go back to the late 90's to early 2000's. WUSA-TV 9 in Washington, DC in the early 2000's and WTVR-TV 6 in Richmond, Va in the late 90's or early 2000's

WFSB uses these graphics.

Fun fact: WDJT (CBS 58 Milwaukee) and WGCL (CBS 46 Atlanta) are not O&O’s of CBS. They just happen to use their graphics package. WDJT still uses their graphics to this day while WGCL changed theirs to a non-owned graphics package. You also forgot WJZ (CBS 13 Baltimore), which is owned by CBS.

Neither WDJT Nor WGCL are CBS O&O's. CBS owns stations in Miami, San Francisco, New York City, Boston, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Minneapolis, and Sacramento. Graphics for these and other stations are not exclusive to the owners and can be syndicated out to other stations. Please do your research before posting a video like this

WJZ updated it's look a few weeks ago. New logo and intro. They don't have the enforcer theme. It's similar to WBZ in Boston. Same Set. Hopefully they will get a new set.
