New Cars Nobody Wants in 2024

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After years of limited supply and rapid turnover, new cars are now languishing on dealer lots. The average new car sells in 54 days, while new EVs take 70.6 days and new hybrids sell in 49.5 days, according to a recent study by iSeeCars.
The analysis 463,000 new and used car sales between October 2023 and March 2024 found a 21.6 percent slowdown in average days on market for new cars compared to a 30.5 percent increase for used cars. The study also identified which automakers had the fastest- and slowest-selling new and used cars.
“Between the gradual drop in new car pricing and consistent slow-down in their sales pace, it’s like watching a giant machine slowly wind down,” said Karl Brauer, iSeeCars Executive Analyst. “New cars are still more expensive than before Covid, and they’re still selling at a reasonable rate, but the pendulum has clearly swung the other direction.”

I miss the old Jeep Cherokee box design from the late 90s early 2000 era. Put that 4.0 litre tank of an engine back into it and it would be the fastest selling vehicle on the market.

For sure. My rule of thumb back in the day was if an engine was designed in the 1960’s and lived through to the 90’s or early 2000’s then it was a good engine

The Jeep Cherokee was discontinued .. so in March , Jeep dealers only had few in stock .. some dealers were totally out of stock and the ones with a few on their lots didn't want to discount this model. The Cherokee is a different model than the "Grand Cherokee".. which is not being discontinued and is one of Stellantis best selling models ... and the best selling Jeep.

It’s a shame, now Toyota is refusing to fix the engine problems in the Tundra models where Ford & Chevrolet are offering new long blocks (crate engines) for total swaps & total fixes for their customers. (They had a lot of engines with cracked blocks but they’re taking responsibility & offering a total fix). This is perplexing for the largest auto maker in the world (Toyota) to shy away from satisfying their customers needs.

This list is definitely wrong. I don't know all the numbers, but what I'm 100% sure of is Tesla only has about 20 days of inventory, and that number includes the transportation because of what they consider as "delivered". How is it possible to have 20 days of inventory and not the lowest supply? In addition, some of their cars have a queue. As in, you pay to get in line, and it gets delivered when your number comes up. That's basically inventory in the negatives. The best selling car is the model Y right now.

Toyota faking test results? Please provide vetted, documentation when making such claims. A colleague has a 2023 Tundra with engine issues. Toyota is replacing the engine with a 100k warranty. They also provide him a loaner truck. The issue is serious but by most accounts (not internet rumors), Toyota is dealing with the problem. Unlike my personal experience with Ford and General Motors.

@@Learnmoretoday59 Ford and GM can be so shady with their services. They like to just pretty much put band aids on a fix when I worked with both and hated it when someone had to come back. Toyota being a Japanese company and how they do service is another level of integrity. Absolutely nothing like those two because toyota usually makes it where you dont come back for service until after 3months or whatever mileage you are due for service. Although i will say they are starting to get off the rails with their new models. Hopefully they get back to the drawing board on their newer models. The new guy running toyota is not a good look.

Everyone lumps EV’s as if they’re all made the same. I think 99% are cheap copycats poorly built and designed thrown together junk. There’s only one that’s worth the price and we all know what that is. I’m tired of having 19 oil burner engines on the farm that need soooo much attention . All my electric motors work forever very little issues. I cannot wait for better EV adoption.

I'll ride a bicycle or get a horse and buggy before I EVER buy an EV. NO bureaucrat or un elected person - OR elected person - who gets paid money to study "the climate" and determines that anything that has been happening throughout the history of this planet is changing one iota because of computable engines - again, for a nice sum of money, is ever going to dictate what I purchase and drive. We've only had "recorded" climate data for a few years (in relative terms) but we're going to change everything for a HUGE amount of money to bring down the temperature ONE degree in fifty years (totally unproven that it will have ANY effect anyhow). Whoever's running the world knows how STUPID most of the sheep in the world have become. That, other than the "small, but succinct" little detail of them being literally impossible to sustain is the reason why. LOL. It's the summer of 2024, and they're telling people to "conserve the usage of air conditioners" to avoid rolling brown outs or even black outs, but we have enough electricity to power tens of millions of EVs in six years? Mkay.
