People want cheaper cars. People want a car with a decent interior, that isn’t 70 freaking grand. The only reason those cars are selling so fast is because finding cars in that price range is becoming more and more obscure, so those few vehicles control the market.

There seems to be a lot of speculation on what may happen with Jaguar, but between JLR as a whole and Jaguar as an individual entity, they’ve seen some pretty large shakeups in leadership and goals these past few years, and a number of pretty drastic shifts in overall direction as a brand/company; after killing off the big EV project for a next-generation flagship XJ saloon, people were left wondering what the deal was, and it seems that Jaguar instead is committing to an all-new (and significantly upmarket) rebranding to push them closer to the likes of Aston Martin and Bentley, instead of the current standing among BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. I believe it was last year that JLR pushed a few subtle changes to the lineup to axe some of the complexity in trims and models, paired offerings down across the board, and dramatically reduced their physical presence in retail spaces with a commitment to launch a new grand touring/performance flagship and an EV-first lineup starting in 2025. They said no new models would be seen for 2023 (and subsequently this year), and orders and builds for current 2024s have already largely stopped, with most remaining ICE Jaguars sitting on lots being the absolute last of the last. The existing leftovers are phenomenal values - the cars themselves are quite proven and reliable nowadays, they’re definitely still nice, and Land Rover dealers will take up the helm of what Jaguar has slowly shuttered, but with how secretive they’ve been and how dramatic their few teasers and press releases have been, I can only assume this will have to be one massive last-ditch effort to recover the faltering brand before they really pull the plug. As a longtime owner, I hope they succeed in their next iteration/era, but I also suspect that this massive rebranding and the new offerings that will come about as a result of it will price out a good number of current and previous owners who have always known Jaguar to be a bit like Volvo in terms of their quiet, understated, and elegant luxury at a more attainable price than most German and Italian counterparts - something that’s nearly always been true throughout the history of the brand!

RE: the Jeep Gladiator not selling, it can only be because of the pricing because otherwise, it's a really nice -- and Top Dog off-road 4x4 capable -- mid-size truck. I have a 2021 (Rubicon), but if I were buying today I'd get another one. EXCEPT -- as this video says -- the outrageous pricing makes me reconsider. Still, I don't know what I could get as an alternative since I've mixed-feelings about the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 (the Gladiator Rubicon's ONLY direct competition). Still, that doesn't mean the Gladiator isn't a very nice/capable truck, either on road or on the hwy (and it can tow what I need). I've had it on several long 3-state road-trips so far and it's been as comfortable sitting-in/smooth-riding as my previous vehicle was (2016 Honda Pilot AWD) on road-trips. As for reliability, only 3 years of ownership so far but only 2 minor issues (under warranty). Otherwise, nothing. But just in case, I DID get a Mopar 5-year Maximum Care Vehicle Protection Plan (MVP) which will take me to early 2029. Feel better now. ;-) -- BR

It's quite funny when I watch this. We bought a 2015 Fiat 500e in 2014. It has about 70K miles on it now. Has been the best car we ever had for what it was designed for. Zipping around the neighborhood. Interestingly, we bought it because of the "ugliness is the worst form of pollution" which were so funny and our style. And why get a Nissan Leaf. The other funny point is the most recent car we have is the Alfa Romeo Tonale Veloce (which in reality is a European pimped up Dodge Hornet). We love that car as well with its looks (we have the gorgeous Verde Fangio - green color) and get lot's of comments from people. I guess the point I have, is that we would never buy a Dodge, however the Alfa Romeo has been so much fun.

They can easily calculate your taxes using your address. It's not OTD without taxes, and tags (make sure they itemize the fees). Good luck.

In my opinion if Jeep wants to sell cars again, they need to use the V-6 Hurricane engine in the smaller models and go back to the V-8 for the bigger models , also they need to put the ICE engines back in the Trailhawk models and then fix their electrical problems because in this day and age it can't be that hard to wire a car and get the software to work, heck its probably mostly due to buying junk circuit board etc to save them money. The worst thing they ever did was make the Trailhawks 4Xe's only. Whatever higher up dum dum made that choice should have be fired immediately, unless he/she already has already been fired.

  • @DanTheMan-sz1ft

At 790 miles it’s under full warranty. If the service was all done by the dealer, they can’t point any fingers at you. If the dealer tries to deny your warranty, contact your states attorney generals office online and file a complaint.

You have a logical fallacy in your discussion point. You're assuming market supply is purely a function of market demand. It's actually a bigger indicator of the vehicle company's ability to predict demand for that vehicle and their relative pricing. Market supply is a good indication of what kind of deal vs MSRP you can get though. There are plenty of high volume selling vehicles with a 45 day market supply showing people want those vehicles and their manufacturers have accurately priced and projected demand.

I cant see why anyone would buy an EV, but the list shows that people are intelligent; they want cars that are reliable, economical, not an EV and resonably priced. Its a great thing to see people being sensible. The Range Rover? Thats a weird one, but I suppose if you are really wealthy it is nice until it breaks down in about a week or so.

Finally the under 15k truck Chevrolet Montana single cab unibody available in a 6 speed automatic & 5 speed manual may be available next year. They are selling well in the South America & South Africa markets & they are made in Brazil but let's hope they not make them in Mexico for the US & Canada markets as poor quality control issues there.

When I want to buy a new car there was over $3000 in fees including a financing and negoti. I'm self-financed so why charge me a finance fee. And WTF is an negotiation free? When they wouldn't resend the fees I got up and walk out. $75000 for a vehicle and then $7500 in sales tax, $3800 for licensing fees and then $8500 in dealership fees. No sale

These average selling prices just blow my mind. I picked up a Jetta back in 2016 when they were selling for 12k new. Inflation & all now you can't get one for under 21k. The new ones are uglier anyway. If had to buy a new car today... I would probably get a Versa manual for 16k (never the slow unreliable cvt). If you just must have an auto because you are missing a leg, don't know how to drive, or plan to let a woman drive it... probably spend more & get the Corolla. I know it's still cvt and boring but not the type that breaks easily.

Even if there's lots of room to negotiate, it's still a Dodge, AKA a POS that will break down all the time and be an endless money pit. You won't be able to negotiate it down to where it should be, which is like 15k. And even if you could get them that cheap, still not worth it. I'd rather have a 10 year old Toyota or Honda than a new Dodge.

It is not about EVs, it is about price, every car over $45,000 is slow selling and only cars under $35,000 are increasing in sales. Not many EVs have an MSRP under $35,000 while quite a few fossil fuel burners are priced under $35,000.

One of those crazy things in which Acura and Cadillac share engine, underpinings and EV components to maximize automotive architecture tonreduce costs. Note this was dine before when Acura and Isuzu created a truck in the early 1990’s a s that was a total disaster. History repeats itself and its not looking good for Acura or Cadillaac now.
