    Option 1 Biffa! You need high density close to industrial area and you can then expand the main island as well. Also you messed up lane arrows when you were trying to fix bus lanes. All normal lanes now go to the left instead of left an straight on.

    1 really handy mod that can help you with the trains in the future. "Optimize Outside connections" mod slows down train spawning to make sure we don't get 5%-10% filled trains. That might help reducing the traffic at the edges of the map.

  • @hmshood

    @hmshood

    3 жыл бұрын

    I was just about to suggest this too, glad I looked to see if anyone else had the same idea! It definitely seems to help prevent trains getting jammed up as much... downside is that each train brings more stuff into the cargo terminals so you get a bigger 'peak' in road traffic coming out since the trains unload more stuff each time rather than being spread out between multiple trains over time. Overall though, I prefer the fuller trains, seems more realistic that you'd only run a train if it'll be carrying a near full load.

  • @robbfisher2876

    @@hmshood If you dont want to reduce the the amount of trains that spawn but want to fix the train backing up issue go to where the trains spawn on the map and use the move it mod to move the crossover piece far enough away from the edge of the map to fit 1+ train in between it and the edge of the map. I do this on almost every map I play now because it almost always becomes an issue.

    With the bus lanes - "you can't force them to use the bus lane". Except you can. . . You can use the vehicle restrictions tool in TM:PE to ban cars and trucks in the outside painted lane, and ban buses in the inside lanes. It's a bit tedious but I make my bus lanes work perfectly like that. I'm kinda stoked in a way I can make a helpful suggestion to Biffa! - I learn heaps watching your builds and fixes, and love seeing your cities come to life, your work is really inspiring, so thanks for making so much awesome content! :)

    I know I am way late here (and you probably already figured this out) but what you need to do is go to where the trains spawn on the map and use the move it mod to move the crossover portion of the track further from the edge of the map (where cargo trains deload and passenger trains drop off and pick up passengers). This happened to me on this map and it took me a second to figure out where the issue was but once I found it and deleted some trains, it cleared everything up. Enjoy all your videos, thanks so much for your fantastic work!!

    Great video as always, I downloaded this map also after your first episode, also ran into the same problems as you have faced. I am using the 81 tiles mod, seeing as more than 50% of the map is water, gives a great chance to fully utilise the available space, mostly for large hubs and industry (airports etc). I vote option 3 for your next square.

  • @tigonologdring9189

    Voted option 1 (makes more sense for now) but option 3, being far away, is a natural for having Fartealand as its area/district name, maybe having a large offshore windfarm... Also, 90° turns on the shipping lanes could be a tad sub-optimal. You'd be better with smooth curves and more direct lines I reckon. Oh, and want the buses to NOT use that middle lane? Use the lane restrictions and remove buses from the middle lane... then they will have to use either the left lane to to left or the right-hand lane to go straight over. Much hilarity watching that bit though, although I did get strange looks from the cat. 'Grats on the ½M subs mark too, bonkers! Love it.

And it´s a pitty you didn´t take "Earl Greyhound Busstop" keep it in mind for future bus projects...lovely video again keep rockin

    For the ferry lines, just make a girdling oval around the waterways under use, with crossover rungs at fairly regular intervals. No crossovers, but just connections to an elongated curvy oval. For the land acquisition, I like option 2 followed by option 1. (Ultimately I prefer anything that allows a cut-throw loop for trains that are just passing through, but that looks like it's about six land zones needed to be acquired

  • @AM-er9zr
    @AM-er9zr3 жыл бұрын

    Biffa! Haven't tested it myself, but a possibility to separate the cargo and passenger ferries could be to draw the lines, and when you have to cross the lines, use move-it to move the node so it doesn't connect with the other line. :)

    Just as a point of thought; I’m pretty disappointed by how trains behave at the map edge. Isn’t it possible when the map is designed, to use one-way tracks, so that in remains in and out remains out? That line switch just doesn’t make any sense!

    There is an easier fix than you'd imagine for this......just use the move it mod to pull the crossover piece away from the edge of the map, enough to fit 1+ train between it and the edge, you won't ever have this issue again.
