    Nice video on the new car prep. It’s good to hear that you have had success with Syncro. The application is nice but for me it just didn’t hold up that well in my dads car that I saw weekly. Skin was gone after 6 months and the coating looked pretty blah at 1 year. Skin is great though when it is performing. Leather Shield, Trim and Rim are nice products. In the end I’ll take Cquartz UK 3.0 over Syncro any day of the week.

    @@MirandaDetailing I've actually had an "accident" where I did not use Cure because I had to attend to something else unforeseen, after the Skin went on. Bear with me, but here's a short story. A buddy and I both coated our cars with Syncro on our cars together at my place. After the Skin was on, I got a call and had to leave, but he did Cure on his car and left it over night in my garage along side my car. Cars was done and the next day the weather looked nice, so we went out. Quick change of weather so got some pretty heavy but short lasting rain. 24 hours had passed so I expected it to be safe. I don't know if it was a very acidic rain or what, but it left my car full of small nasty water spots and streaks. Had to do a two stage cut to get the coating off and then re-apply another coating. My buddy's car was fine and zero issues. Note that the cars were from the same manufacture and both had one of their three layer paints, albeit different shades of metallic red. In short, I will NEVER do a coating without finishing off with Cure again.

    Great work and video! Have just heard and seen other use them but like the concept of them. Autofiber Coatings Saving Applicators they have some kind of plastic core so it don't soak up that much of coating product. Comes in 2 different materials suede mf and what to seems most liked mf applicator and in different sizes of blocks. Not the usually that you wrap a cloth around it but it's ready to use so to say. If I had them available over hear I would definitely get them. Seems to be priced reasonable too. Look them up and see if it's something for you to try out. But when we polish using the Gyeon Primer or any other compound/polish it will remove anything that’s on the paint anyway.

    Noah S oh yeah. I’m not sure why some guys use so many. I’ve never had a problem with using 2 or 3 for the whole car. The vehicle and boat wash is great but honestly just doing an APC or degreaser rinse before you wash breaks down a lot of stuff. Again don’t worry about the wash process and trying to remove waxes or protection. Your polishing stages will remove any protection that’s on the paint.

    Where in the world are you that is that hot this time of year? Here in Tennessee expecting snow tonight. What are your thoughts on leather conditioner? Sooooo many detailers say it has a coating that nothing goes through anyway. A guy I know does reupholstering, said he's tested leather with coating and that conditioners do make it through the coating when applied thick enough and allowed to sit in heat and that leather regularly conditioned will basically never age but without conditioning, dries and cracks over time. Just curious where you stand on that debate. Thanks for the videos. Love your channel.

    🤣I know...it was a trick! This was recorded during the summer! I just forgot I had it uploaded and so many other videos and things kept getting in the way! That's an excellent question about the leather. I'm going to answer that as part of my new Q&A section in some of our upcoming videos. Bascily, it makes sense to me that even "coated" which is basically a spray painted, leather and plastic are porous, then it would absorb conditioners and protectants. Even clear coat is porous and ceramic coatings are also to a certain degree porous. But I guess people have their opinions and their own ideas.

  • @coachtim6188

    @coachtim6188

    @@MirandaDetailing I was just reading about exactly that. You're right. The coatings they use are porous, it just takes a while for anything to make it through so water will sit on top but certain molecules do make it through. Great!! Looking forward to the Q&A videos!!

    All these ceramics seem to have a 24 hour cure time where you have to let it set during one of the steps. What do you do that next 24 hours and you walk out and a coating of dust is on top? How would you proceed. Ordered all the stuff to coat wife’s car, but I notice even after washing our cars and waking up next morning there always seems to be a layer of dust.

  • @MirandaDetailing

    @MirandaDetailing

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yeah that’s true. I use my blower and blow the dust off or take a super plush micro and gently dust the surface without using any pressure. I do try to get all the coatings done within the same day. But the Gyeon skin does require 4 hours before you apply skin. So timing is crucial.

    Really? Maybe they are diluting the formula? I know it also depends on wear and tear on the leather. I mean best case scenario it should last a year. Maybe If they are heavily used seats 6 months?

    I never see anyone coat the lug nuts 🤣. When you put a socket on it and tighten, it will remove the coating. But it is nice to see you go above and beyond and take pride in your work. More businesses should do this more often, rather than charging people arm and leg just to do half ass job

    THANKS....it would not remove the coating on the lug nuts though, removal only happens with chemical at this point, there is not enough friction when reinstalling. plus almost a year later the wheels and lug nuts still beaded water and looked incredible!

    Alot of layers and time wasted for only 2 years. Btw applying 3 layers of Moh's is only ending up with 1 layer and 1 layer of Skin is....2 layers....not 4.

  • @MirandaDetailing

    Interesting. According to Gyeon they state to lay 2 layers of Mohs as a minimum and up and to 3 layers and then skin. So are you saying that although they say 2-3 layers that at the end of it, they bind to make 1 solid layer? Then Skin makes a 2nd solid layer? So me saying 4 layers is not scientifically correct?

    Really? Even after an hour between layers? Is this also true with Carpro Cquartz and every other coating that is recommended to layer? So why does Gyeon recommend it? Do you install coatings also? What research have you done to come to that conclusion? Sorry for all the questions...I talk to tons of detailers and product companies and this is completely the opposite of what they say. So I would love to get your info.

    That's really interesting! Now I want to do some more research. I never liked the idea of multi-layer coatings myself. Is that info you got from certain product companies? I would love to now how you know that. Becasue if that's true I'm in total agreement. I would love to simplify things with my coating application.
