Yep..every where the french went and colonized became a disaster..like Vietnam...

Its interesting at no point Moana asks, "is violence justified?" "How do you justify violence when 3 referendums have all rejected independence?" They talk about Tino Rangatiratanga, but self determination is the fact that they had 3 referendum to decide the issue. Self determination isnt achieved through violence forcing a minority view.

The stats of the Kanaks in New Caledonia are horrific eg 95% of inmates in jail are kanak youth. There are plenty of statistics stating socio-economic disparity and dispossession of the marginalised kanak. The FR government do not want to know their issues and want to maintain the status quo no matter the cost, it is a very intense and horrible situation for the kanaky
