As a construction worker and also a knife guy, really appreciate the way you talk about it. I’ve carried the fastback with screw driver/multi tool for a few years. I love it, it actually prevents me from carrying a knife as regularly. But I can really appreciate the knife concepts Ryobi put into their utility knife for sure. Great vid dude

I carry Utility Knives often… they are super easy to change the blade and I like the Milwaukee Utility Knives a bunch. Also I like the FC, and even the WorkPro Utility Knives are pretty good. Thanks for the video, I will keep an eye out for the Ryobi. Have a great NFL Sunday. Beretta9MMUSA Sr.

Had a knife similar to the Ryobi, the "upside" down pocket clip keeps the blade up during fold. It came open slightly in my pocket one day, exposing the tip. When I reached for it, the fresh blades tip went straight into my finger, had a serious injury for a minute. Only like the color, easy to find.

I’ve gotten to the point where I prefer carrying a utility knife as my edc knife. You don’t have to spend tons of money for one, like benchmade or spiderco orother high end brands like those….Blade refills are cheap and you can flip the blades when one side gets dull. I have several of the Milwaukee versions….

Great review on the Ryobi. I carry the Milwaukee 48-22-1505. If Ryobi came with something similar to this I would buy one for my collection. I carry the Milwaukee as EDC along with a Victorinox Compact and a Knipex XS. These 3 tools cover me for most of whatever comes up during the day.

The Milwaukee 6 in 1 Fastback is awesome, i use it to break down boxes. When i break down boxes I'm saving the blade by mostly cutting the packing tape at the seams & not the actual cardboard unless i have to. Also i use a serrated blade in it for rope, etc. My contender utility knife for carry is the Spec Ops utility knife, it's a lot thicker, has more blade storage. Is a 2 step opening process which protects against accidental opening. Doesn't have a driver. Has a window punch of sorts. It has a pocket clip but is really wide. Best carried in a jacket pocket or day pack.

Am I the only person that sees the folding action as a drawback? Years ago Husky had a (now discontinued) boxcutter, It was incredible. When they stopped selling them at the Home Depot I died a little. It was a Base Metal body, right side carry with a pocket clip that had a release that you could open and store 5 blades inside. Simple thumb slide for exposing the blade and retracting. A metal release for the blades. when you needed a new one you toss the old blade slide the release back inside and it would load a new blade. No folding. Many years later wandering amazon I found that the EXACT same item showed up under Olympia Tools, I bought 4 of them "Olympia Tools 33-183 Turboknife by Autoload" $25, The regular turboknife sucked, the autoload is superior. To be honest there is some blade play but through years of using this same cutter I have never had a blade come out, with anything that I cut.

I'm just here to see how you managed to make an almost 15 minute video about a utility knife. That's impressive! If I had any constructive feedback, I'd say you tend to mention things and then immediately dismiss them as unimportant. I guess I'd also mention the constant reference to standard pocket knives. I carry a utility knife at work and a pocket knife when I'm in street clothes. I've carried the Milwaukee Fastback since it came out years ago. Decent knife, use it everyday. I'm sure the Ryobi is fine and I'd consider it if the Milwaukee ever breaks. It's unlikely since I've work of almost all of the red coating on this one and it still works like brand new.

Apparently some guy somewhere else in the country who works at my company had an accident of some sort. This is not the first time this sort of knee-jerk reaction has happened. The mngrs at my company are slowly turning us into a bunch of pussies. I've been carrying a pocket knife since I was 9 yrs old and I have never, not once, had an accident with a pocket knife and the Fastbacks are the only knife I've ever used that has a lock to keep it closed. Same warranty as new. *** Factory Reconditioned = These are store returns and come with a short 90day warranty. The power tools will have the word "RECON" heat stamped onto them so that they can't be returned to retail stores or be sold as new. Smaller items may get shipped with non-retail packaging. _ Hope that helps. 🙂

Blade release on Ryobi is plastic junk. That’s why you changed what you said about it being “silver” to saying “gray” since silver implies that it’s metal. I use my utility knife at least 50times per day and I’m not gentle about it. Been through countless Stanley and Dewalt knives. Milwaukee is the only one that lasts worth every penny. I have had mine for over a year and like I said it is heavily used every day. Milwaukee is damn near indestructible. Oh and Ryobi is not “yellow” it’s Green.

1st- Milwaukee Fastback (6 in 1 / I stated this in this vid) is my fav of all time. 2nd - didn’t change verbiage “sliver to gray” because it’s plastic. (just me babbling) Doesn’t matter, works just fine. Lots of plastic on any power tools & hand tools that works great. If it works, it works. 3rd - Thanks for watching & all your feedback
