It’s great to see planting your food forest. I agree a blooming tree at your entrance will be lovely. Notice your cats got worried you were leaving them and they got out of there cosy nests in your cold weather.

Let’s hope tree at the entrance will survive the summer, it’s like a desert there at mid summer, sometimes cats even following the truck when we leave the property 😁

We love citrus fruits, and here in Portugal surprisingly they are not cheap, so lets hope in the years to come we will have enough of our own, and don’t have to buy them 👍

When tying plant to post, use figure eight ie around tree, cross over between post on opposite side and tie. Gives two ties between post and tree, prevents rubbing in wind.

Every time I've planted pomegranates in the past, if I try taking good care of them they don't do well. The ones that have done well are planted in very dry sandy ground.

Glad to see you planting more trees to rejuvenate your land. I would recommend once planted that you cover the top of the planting hole with cardboard and mulch. This allows the young trees to get established and suppress the weeds. It really works well. Good luck!

I recently learned from another you tube channel , in Franse, you must plant the tree, flower in that black container it will desolve and you must not disturbed the roots, if you do your plant have a set-back and this person was an horticultural expert. I think this make sense to me.

Mmm but thats plastic, even on the tree label it says to remove it, also on my course here in Portugal they were advising to plant the trees the way we did it 👍

That family run shop in Alcains is the best, cheaper then the market, very friendly english speaking staff, what I don’t like about Fundao market is parking, it’s always a problem, when parked far if you want to buy 10 trees you’ll spent ages walking there and back, but it’s good for chickens thats for sure, we will definitely get more from there, regarding the gates 2 villages near us have blacksmiths we bought our gate from facebook market place but used local guys to make posts, and weld hinges, very quick and not expensive it was 👍

Fruit trees? Wow...that's lovely. Please prune those fruit trees down when the time is right so that they are easy access to harvest. I have seen too many people having a hard time reaching because they are too tall. And also prune the fruit buds so that they are not in competition for growth and you'll have big and juicy fruits😉 😜. Check out orchard farming. They have awesome ideas 😅❤❤. Did I miss you mentioning cherries 🍒 😉. Oh...they are lovely, aren't they? Hope all the trees do better this year and will produce plentiful. ❤😊
