I've just realized that one reason I'm hooked on these Anderton's videos is that, in an age when it seems like we're surrounded by lunatics, these guys are nice, and they're sane and polite, and they're relaxed and having fun. It's wonderfully refreshing to see, it calms me down; and it never fails to restores my optimism and good mood. Thanks, guys!

@@shumailkhan7205 I just plug it in and it works. However, because there's no fx loop, if you've recorded something then change your amp settings (say, go from crunch to lead setting) the looped recording will take on the same sound. However, I typically play my katana on "clean" or "crunch" so these shortcomings of the amp don't bother me too much. It's an amazing amp for the money.

Guys, thanks so much for this. A couple years back I bought a epiphone les paul standard and the guys at the local store talked me into a spyder iv practice amp because it had more options than other amps.. I've hardly ever wanted to use the thing because it just sounded awful but I didn't want to make the jump to a $500+ amp either so it just sat collecting dust and I played the guitar with no amp. Had a katana mk 2 delivered this week after watching this video a few days back, and I cant believe how good it sounds in the 0.5w mode for quiet practice. It makes me want to actually play more often, and barely cost more than this awful spyder did when it was new. Great recommendation.

Bummer that there's still no fx loop in the 50W. As a bedroom player I have no use for a 100W amp, but I still like to use a looper. All those fancy effects are completely useless if the looper has to go into the front. I get they want to sell more of the more expensive one, but it seems a bit arbitrary.

I had the mk1 and loved it, bought the mk2 50 and it was great! Loved it so much I returned it and bought the 100w version! Best solid state amp on the market and the foot controller makes it brilliant! Don’t hesitate you won’t find something better for the money

They still haven't done the one thing that I think would really push the katanas over the top. I wish they would some how make some kind of illuminated light around the controls bass, middle, treble volume ECT. That way when you switch channels it would light up in the spot that you set even if the knobs were changed for other channels. For people like me that forget my settings. I hope all of this made sense. Basically a reference point of how a channel was set before you made adjustments on another channel for when you wanna tweak something a little instead of jumping from one extreme to another you could turn the knobs back to the position that was saved and adjust from there. Like once you saved your settings into the memory there would be a light indicator always saved until you adjust further and resave and the light would then change to that spot. I know slot of people don't like slot of bright lights and all but I think that would be a huge improvement even if it pushed the amp price up a bit more! I would like to hear what others think about this idea

We need nobs on the front and lots of lights. Doesn't matter if they are useful, just needs to look like a airliner flight deck.

Can you do a comparison between the mk2 and the artist? I think it would be interesting to see if the mk2 sounds closer to the artist than the mk1 did in the first comparison video.
