NEW BMW 1 SERIES 2023 OWNER REVIEW // 118i M SPORT // ON THE ROAD TESTING
Today I review my new shape BMW 1 Series 118i M Sport, BMW’s latest small family premium hatchback. I have owned this car for 4 months and covered serval thousand miles including this road trip down through France and over to the island of Corsica.
If you are thinking of buying one of these and want to get a detailed owners perspective on the BMW 1 Series here it is. I pick up on some of the smaller details that you only notice when you own a car, look at the outside of the car, a detailed look at the boot size and function and what features the interior of the car has.
I also look at our real world MPG (miles per gallon) figures, what’s it like to drive both for long journeys on the motorway and also as a daily and even on some fun mountain roads. Spoiler this is a very fun sporty little hatch back and a great family car. I know some people will not like the fact it is front wheel drive instead of rear wheel drive but it suits the car.

Got exactly the same car and colour but with a Pan Roof ,I've had no issues with getting into reverse ,I also think it's a much better looking car than the previous 1 series ,I love the rear LED lights ,I do also miss a reverse camera

I have the F40 M135i with tuning box at 367bhp. Stunning motor. I had the F20 M140i before, and the F40 is the better car. BTW in the cars settings, you can alter the headlights from right hand drive to left hand drive. Saves putting them crappy beam deflection stickers on the lights. Enjoy the motor.

That’s some good knowledge. I will most certainly use that if we take it away this year. But we are considering changing it out for a f31 340i touring if we have another little man. Would love a m140i. The dream. Thanks for watching man.
Great review. I'm thinking of buying one. Does it have a reverse camera or 360 camera?

Thanks pal. Reverse camera is an option. This one hasn’t got it. But I wish it did. Look for one with it. 👍

120i is not available everywhere :( petrol options in UK are limited to 118i, 128ti and 135i. Agree that the 120i with around 200bhp would be the sweet spot.

I had the M140 F20 and loved it, but the F40 M135 I have now is a better car. Mine is mapped to 367bhp stage 1. The control in corners with xdrive is stunning. Wet weather drive too, is safer. The M140 would lose its rear end when putting the power down hard. F40 all the way. Plus, the front looks great with the CSL style grill from maxton.
