New Black Swans for 2021 in Dawlish

In 2020 we lost a majority of our swans to avian flu so today has been a huge turning point for Dawlish and the black swan population.
Today we introduce a new bloodline of black swans to the brook in Dawlish. This new breeding pair has been in the aviary for a week to acclimatise to their new surroundings and as you can see in this video, they soon settle in.
We are hoping this pair will nest down here at Tuck's Plot so that we can catch cygnets hatching on our Black Swan Cam.

Really sorry to hear about the swans you lost. As a kid I used to go to Dawlish with my parents for holidays and the black swans were always something I’d like to see when I was there! Thank you for your hard work in bringing fresh blood to the area.

Another reason how Devon is a great and peaceful place. Want to live there so bad 😭😭😭 . If you don’t mind me asking How much pollution can you smell and see? as here in London all I see and smell is pollution and it is really making my stomach hurt. I just want to know so I can see the best spots in Devon and find out everything about Devon. amazing video as always keep up the amazing work well done Edit: it is so sad that we don’t have any black swans in London.

Let us all hope that Avian Flu does not come back this year, particularly if it effects poultry producers as our Christmas tables might be a bit bare. I prefer Venison to Turkey anyway. Just as well Swan can only be caught and eaten by Royalty, not been done since Georgian times I believe.
