I think the price tag is including the new stadium, demolishing and building a new structure within Soldier Field where that park space is, building a new park bridge from the Field Museum to Soldier Field (including a new roadway that goes under it), and it looks like new office buildings (admin for Bears?) along the bike path/closer to the Field Museum. Basically, $4.6 Billion would be for ALL of that to happen so if it's met with resistance, it could come down to the Bears just building the stadium and not doing demo on Soldier Field which would be closer to that figure of $3 Billion. And then, of course, if the city flat out refuses, they could then take Arlington Heights tax deal and build out there and let the city lose all the possible income from big events.

Could be the point they're making. I'd say they're doing this to see what the tax re-assessment is in Arlington Heights. They spent $300 million for the land. I doubt they walk away from that. Plus, they can stand on principle of public funding because they won't own the stadium on the lake front. They would in Arlington Heights.
@johnmccarthy524517 күн бұрын
Keep in mind when the Bears did this last time, they pledged "$200 million from the Bears." If you take the 60,000 seats and multiply by the PSL fee of about $3,500 back then, you get about $200 million. The PSL fees were paid by the season ticket holders. So the Bears chipped in $0, the season ticket holders paid $200 million. That said, I still favor this stadium staying in Chicago than moving to the suburbs. God help us if the stadium moves to the suburbs. There is one exit off of I-90 to get to Arlington Heights. Yikes.

Both of them looks almost exactly alike a Knock off interior design from allegiant stadium. With little changes. I mean seriously, switch it up as a whole. Starting to have the same problem that the NFL stadium's had in the 80s. Most of them looked alike. And had similar designs. Like you can still design a stadium to have a ETFE roof and completely be different as a whole. A good example of that is SoFi stadium. And half of the ETFE roof with US Bank Stadium. Because both of those stadiums looks nothing alike allegiant stadium in any form. Coming up with a new stadium supposed to be original and completely feel like you're own.

I don't understand how this will get approved. There is still lots of red tape they still have to go through to even break ground. 1st they need to pay off the other renovation to soldier field. 2. I go along with Gov. Quinn not taxpayer funding for this they make way to much money off the public and fans just to attend games they can afford to find their own funding. 3. It does not sit with fans that has not improved getting to and from the stadium, enough parking, no close tailgating near the stadium? Why did the Bears bothered to purchase that property in Arlington Heights which seems to be the most practical for investment growth for the Chicago Bears to build their own stadium on a property they own. Also Arlington Heights they could have great tailgating area and large enough property. Also enough parking and transportation options by train, car, be shuttled by local hotels etc in Arlington Heights. Train stop is steps away to the door. Are the Bears going to sell that property now that they started to tear down in Arlington Heights? Or will this be the backup option if everything backfires in the City of Chicago which there is still lots of time for these plans in the City of Chicago to fail big time with many fans and taxpayers in this state, City of Chicago, Cook County? The City of Chicago have way to many problems then building a stadium and to even get tourism to come to the City of Chicago for a Bears game with high crime in the City, heavy homelessness and drug addiction on the streets of this City of Chicago. This is just not practical period! They can never expand the stadium and how can this be allowed that they can build on the lakefront? We shall see this is going to take years before they can break ground. The best choice where they have enough land to build and more investment growth for the Chicago bears adding evestment opportunities on the Arlington Heights property. Agree Billionaires want more tax breaks than us middle and lower class can even get. Many middle and lower class taxpayers are taxed out enough is enough in this state of IL. We cannot afford to give away more of our tax dollars and are taxes keep going up and up. I just don't see this happening in the City of Chicago period! City of Chicago is broke and so are the taxpayers in this state. So many other programs need funding and can't get it but we can give it to Build a new Chicago Bears stadium is more important and helping Chicago clean up it's City and help schools, programs to get people off the streets. No taxpayer funding for this project period! If we fund it the McCaskey family and investors will still be owned by the City of Chicago and taxpayers. They need to build their own stadium and own it and pay for the building it with their own funding. The fans do not get any benefits from it. Many people can't afford to attend a Bears game with their families anymore. If taxpayers ending up paying half to build this they should have reduced ticket prices for City of Chicago and all IL residents.

Yikes.

If the builders don't cut any corners
They are starting to get really lazy with the interior stadium design. Because the titan's new stadium and now the Chicago Bears new renderings.
The demolition of the current stadium would likely have to be part of that total cost, in order to then build the “parks”.
Looks nice but im of the opinion cold weather teams should stay outdoors. Bears have always been known as a outdoor cold weather team its weird seeing them indoors. Just like it would be if the Packers or Bills went indoors.

Chicago play in a 61k Capacity venue. They could easily fill an 85k Stadium. This looks more like 70k range. Looks great and definitely a mixture of Raiders current Stadium and Titans future stadium
@LucaMVP

65k capacity I’ve read. Hence why there’s expanded seating in the Super Bowl rendering to bring it up to the required 70k minimum
$4.6 Billion before cost overruns, $6.6 Billion with cost overruns.
If it's built in the City by the City it will never happen.
Woah i saw your falcons flight video yesterday and bears stadium today. Subscribing
Raiders Titans and Bears design is now indeed cookie cutter

That's because they are designed by the same group, manica can't come up with new designs for interiors to save their life. On top of that they literally are copying unique features of Nashville. The wrap around bar/balcony doesn't need to be here, like Nashville wanted that to fit in with all the rooftop bars they have to say that it is the stadium that represents Nashville and what it's known for. It was a specific feature for that city. So why the hell is it here for no reason. Just dumb and lazy designing.

Still looks better than the current ones.
Parking will be a nightmare, and except for the lucky few who can take the Metra Electric District and South Shore lines there’s really no good transit access. At least the White Sox stadium plan, while little parking, transit wouldn’t be a problem.

The Bears addressed all of this today. There will be parking and possibly a 2nd deck. More entrances off of LSD.

Since 1966, Bears ownerships have produced regular seasons of 21-30-7. That's 37 non-winning seasons out of the last 58 years, 2 NFC titles and 1 Super Bowl championship. If the franchise moves into a domed stadium, Bears fans are going to brace for 7 losing seasons in the dome's first 10 years.

American Football fans make laugh. If you are going spend that much money for a league that only has 10 home games, why not get your money's worth and have a roofed stadium so you can host more events through out year?
rly like how they are keeping the old soldier field pillars in to a park
Being that I live in Southern Illinois, I better not be paying a dime of the $4.6 billion for a Chicago stadium. If Chicago wants it, they can pay for it. Not me.
where is the parking?
Where's parking now 🤔
There is nothing wrong with Soldier Field! Improve bathrooms, concessions, and parking. Add new seats, and Soldier Field will be good.

Didn’t they have flooding issues before though ?
Love everything about this concept. I hope they can get it done.
As history has shown, 4600 million = ridiculous ......and the final total will be even higher. You'll have to be a millionaire to afford tickets for an event
Soldier Field is owned by the park district, The City of Chicago will more than likely turn the old stadium into playing fields for the children
I'm excited I can't wait for this new stadium GO CHICAGO BEARS ⬇️🐻🏈💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡🤗💯
BEARS WILL BE A DIFFERENT TEAM WITH AN INDOOR STADIUM. I'M PRETTY SURE FANS STILL LIKE WATCHING THE BEARS IN ANY CLIMATE EVEN IF IT'S FREEZING OR SNOWING.
If somehow it ends up in Arlington, IL, there’s more room for it to look like SoFi Stadium.
Can you imagine tax payers paying to feed, house , cover healthcare in the neighborhood of $100 million for illegal migrants and now cover the cost of an entertainment complex costing billions only to be charged to enter the complex, buy super inflated prices for beverages , food, event tickets to pay millionaire athlete salaries & line the pockets of one of chicago’s wealthiest families. I’m all in. 😩
Shouldn’t the Bears start winning before they demand a $4+ billion stadium? All the teams can’t threaten to move to Vegas…
It looks great... But over 4 billion!?
They should install salt resistant seating to deal with the tears of the Bad News Bears and Fire FC fans.

The saddest thing is the Stones will have retired by the time this stadium is built....
Just name the stadium “STADIUM”. Screw the corporate naming

I like the sound of Dollar Tree Stadium
The stadium looks great! I don't like the clutter in front though. I live near Chicago I don't think there is much of connection from the fans to Soldier Field. So in my opinion, the remaining parts of Soldier Field can go.
Alligent stadium with a huge hole at one end
So would this be the most expensive stadium if it happens? And also keep the original building still on the sides is super cool.
Maybe after the next stadium after this one is built in the 2050s, the Bears will actually focus on winning and won't be an embarrassment to be a fan of anymore.
Billionaires getting richer off the middle class and poor people of Chicago.
Bears are going to win the Super Bowl 🙃
Nice looking stadium! STILL NO PARKING? Might as well keep soldier field. I was happy with the arlington heights location because parking would have been better.
Stadium is just north of $3 billion. Remaining is for infrastructure changes & improvements
I like it but $4.6 billion no, that’s a bit pricey
Chicagoans have extremely high taxes to pay, services are being cut for Chicagoans that are U.S.Citizens, their city budget is a disaster, and they are paying tens of millions of dollars for services to illegal migrants...and what is Chicago 's priority? $2 Billion for a Venue that average Chicagoans will never be able to afford to visit!!! 😢
They want to host Superbowls. Simple as that.
Sweet !!! 🐻⬇️
Cool. Now where do you park / tailgate?
Not gonna lie ! I'm gonna go to a lot of games because Chicago has the best food hands down!
Agreed it’s one of the hardest most limited areas to get to, bring your walking shoes and people who can’t walk FAR should stay home
looks like At&T stadium on the outside and Allegiant on the inside strange render if it gets built I hope it gets its own identity
The city should build its own stadium for its newest NFL franchise, and let the Bears go hibernate somewhere. Once paid, the city can use the income to lower taxes and build better teams.
Think about the INCREDIBLE Photos we're gonna be able to get from having the columns out in the open without a stadium blocking them. Ugh this is gonna SOOOO GOOD GUYS I LOVE IT
The baseball fields might be the new home of the White Sox😂
They could have done this twenty years ago when they redid Soldier Field, but they didn't have the smarts. Typical Chicago/Illinois politics.
It does look similar to the raiders stadium I just wish the taxpayers didn't have to pay for it gorgeous rendering
bro it looks like raiders stadium inside and it looks like the old stadium outside. the originaly is gone
