I think the best scopedog is the 1/20 Bandai scopedog with opening cockpit and a very detailed pilot. A votoms without a opening cockpit and pilot is not a votoms.

If you are familiar with the "grades" of Bandai then the HG Votoms are similar to what an HG is. The Scopedog has pieces with thicker plastic parts which makes it more expensive. When you said you would like it to be the same size but with more detail at a higher price then you are asking for Bandai to make a Real Grade version. Also, there are up to 5 option parts but are all Premium Bandai exclusives.

Yeah I have built a ton of those, I think I have like 200 HGs, a few RGs. My main point is that for that price they should have just gone for a bit more and included the interior like with the smaller kit I show. I'll likely get the interior kit someday.

Honestly, I still like the Takara Votoms kits. Those molds still look great, even if they need to be assembled with glue. I haven't built my HG yet, but I was a little disappointed at the cockpit and pilot being sold separately, too.

Yeah, I wish this was alot cheaper, but as a VOTOMs fan, this is a decent representation of the Scopedog. Personally, I love it. Though I'm kinda miffed that the functional cockpit is locked behind an online-exclusive release. Should've come with that in a base kit methinks. (Although the kit is listed as a non-scale kit, it's around 1/35 scale)

P Bandai DLC on model kit? I got one of those vintage toy with metal parts about the same size. Missing the dome and pilot though. I just put a clear dome from something else and lego guy on it.

the HG Votoms kits are non-scale. I think they are larger than the 1/35 Wave but are clearly smaller than the 1/20 scale Bandai kits which I think is the one you have in this video.

Completely agree. For this to cost $30 is crazy. The AMAIM kits are the same price and are bigger, better articulated, and often come with more accessories. You get more bang for your buck from the Stork Carrier than you would with this thing.

All I’m saying is that as far as the actual amount of plastic goes, for the same price, the AMAIM kits blow this one out of the water. It should have come with a lot more for the price of a real grade, which now that I think about it is an even better comparison.

VOTOMS model kits are always expensive either due to the license or being made by a smaller company, the ones from Wave cost like 5000 Yen or even 6500 yen, while this one cost only 3000 yen, the thing is that VOTOMS is an iconic series, pretty much it inspired 1/3 of the "western mechas" designs and gimmicks along with Dougram and Gundam, unlike Kyoukai senki model kits that don't even sell well, you often see the Amaim model kits getting sold at even 400 yen in HLJ, I just got the Full mechanics Kenbu for 550 yen, and there are other even more expensive options like the Hi metal R or the Three zero "robodou" which are like 24,000 yen each, at this point I just want bandai to re print the 1/20 kits, those were great and quite cheap

Thanks, great information! I do like this kit, but it's a shame they sold the interior stuff separately.

I havent built it yet but this is the ONLY affordable option for a good scope dog kit. The Votoms Wave kits are horribly overpriced over here in the US even though they're tiny. The old Bandai kits which were amazing are $100+ nowadays. I'm not thrilled about the price but for people that just want a scopedog and don't want to spend $100 then this is it. They did just announce a burglary dog with tons of accesories for only $5 more as a regular release so there's that for those thinking this is lacking.

Yeah I mean it's a fun lil kit for what it is, but it could be so much more. They are selling a cockpit kit separately -- I'll have to get one!
