As cool as night flying is, notice when Drib is flying and describing his experience saying things like "I can see the clouds," and Bubby is standing next to him saying "really?" It just reminds me that we don't have audience mode.

Buy the Avatar VRX. It has HDMI output.
Great time to be in FPV, we have Walksnail dji Rotor riot and Bardwell, I love it. Bobby, did you see that? Drew, NO 👀
When u know how hard it is to fly u appreciate yal boys flying even more....yal r the big dogs of this Thang 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🔥
Nice to finally see Sony Starvis sensors used in high end CCTV, coming down in price enough to be used for FPV.
Speaking of the mounting points on the USB board: Quad pilots aren't the only FPV pilots. On a wing that USB breakout board could mean actually using the feature or not depending on where your VTX fits in the airframe.

note that the remote board can be used with the V1 vtxs as well. Just have to change the plug end.
Bubby: I don't wanna stop flying. Walksnail: Now you don't have to, even when the sun goes down.
love it when tech catches up :)
I love how more than one person can see how your flying wearing there own goggles when there not even flying its like taking your friends on a journey thru your eyes really cool all the perks of FPV
I am Proud of you Bubby... Keep up the great work my friend... Drew thanks for being you... I just installed the V2, can't wait to try the night time flying... 👍

I ordered one just now from you guys. 😁 That night demo did it! Perhaps you guys can be nice and give Nick Burns a good discount because he helped sell it too. 😬 Oh.. Bubby... I'm still not a boomer. 😂😂
Drew, the lens is a circle. More square image will fill the circular field of view better, therefore, you will always get better vertical field of view with 4:3 camera, compared to 16:9. If you put a wider lens and get your "free" updown, you'll start losing the sides to vignetting, effectively turning your image to 4:3
@kingscroach
Жыл бұрын
What vignetting? I don't see any brightness decrease as it gets closer to the edges.
@Silor
Жыл бұрын
@@kingscroach they didn't put the wider lens on, I'm discussing a scenario when they put a too wide lens
@kingscroach
Жыл бұрын
@@Silor I seemed to have read your comment wrong, my bad, I was multitasking at the time. The vignetting really comes down to how the 16:9 is implemented by default, if it's taking the maximum visible square from center and stretching it horizontally or if it's simply taking a 16:9 view from center, it's hard to tell without seeing their reference checks they did to check the vertical view, and then also on how it was output.
@painy6588
Жыл бұрын
ye it was kinda silly how he said that like 5 times and it doesnt really make sense..
@TheTechnoPilot
Жыл бұрын
@@Silor yeah that was rather incorrect to say that at the same focal length it would reduce horizontal field of view in 4:3 versus 16:9. For the same sensor size it would only be an increase in vertical field of view for the same sensor size. Also there is a reason wider lenses aren’t always better. More distortion and less light transmission will result from a wider angle lens.
Great review, thanks guys.
So cool to have all these options for HD these days. I'm on DJI and fly OG cams or Nebula Pros in 4:3 more often than not but I have to admit that I love my Polar Pro camera even though it's 16:9 only. Like Bubby says...the 16:9 doesn't stop me from doing anything I'd do in 4:3.
@EdturdEnfart

Another great video thanks guys 💯👍👍
That's insane
Awesome review. And. Awesome low light camera for night time flying.
You was kiling that! Damn son.. That was noice...
I agree, I like the 4:3 -- however stating that you get more width on the 16:9 is not accurate because typically the 16:9 simply stretches the sensor data to the edges and cuts the top and bottom -- just what you were seeing. Also, the color and the image quality looked better on the 4:3.
Amazing ❤

It does look great doesn't it? Even though I just invested a bunch of money Analog, I saw how clean this was on Nick's channel and I felt compelled to invest $700 all the sudden.
I like to see the native 4:3 option - especially for the use with 4:3 goggles and the VRX.
I have been so happy with DJI, but this is definitely a game changer!!
Dam that kid can fly! Looks like I need to order me a few from the Riot!
cool vid
Quite incredible to see the stuff on the roof that well. That's basically light reflected from the clouds?
The pro with low light is soo cool. I always get bit by sunset working a say job
So they've introduced starlight cameras into the drone industry. We've had these cameras inn the the security industry for quite awhile now , at least 10 years. This footage reminds me of early starlight footage.
@painy6588
Жыл бұрын
starlight cams have been around in fpv for a little while. And i think the first fpv drones actually used security cams..
That lowlight camera is pretty badass.
wow, this is a DJI killer! I'm so tempted to buy especially i'm still on DJI v1 goggles

its not a dji killer the 03 air unit is still better dji is still better if you low light flying get a polar cam
@neilfpv

@@grampafpv8013 that's true since O3 has 4K resolution I think. But I would disagree with you on the polar cam. I have a polar cam and I can tell from experience, it is impossible to achieve what Drew and Buddy flew thru.
Awesome great for the hobby
Walksnail is making there way to the top for once. The FAA is going to love us now.
what's the board brand? looks so nice and quiet just floating while going...

Did anyone notice the Hugh-ef-ohs lookin like flying cartoon heads or the eetteess on the ground and peeking out from behind objects in the night time footage? haha
Lots of great tech! Nice! But I’m a bit curious how well Gyroflow will work with only 1080p wide screen res?
Yeah I need this
we tried wider lenses on the runcam split og cams, it was one of the best cinematic lenses but there was not the full recapture of fov that 4-3 cams have. it was great for framing and a great final recorded image fov.
I got to get this now
4:3 is is like those instagram videos shot holding the phone upright.. You wonder wtf is happening on the sides. 16:9 is perfectly fine.
Great stuff guys, have fun at night! too bad this stuff costs a crap ton, I still run analog...
I'm running a skyliner mk3 with the walksnail avatar v2 and a rucam 5 right now and just ordered a gopro hero 9 and I tell u I love the 30×30 stack iv never had the opportunity to fly a 20×20 so I can't say anything but I love the smoothness on the 30×30
it's insane!!!! like in broad daylight!!!
+1 for the golden ratio, 16:10, to take over. Would absolutely 100% go for the pro model, I am a darkness weenie and couldn't see ANYTHING with the v2 in your video at night.
Hell yeah bro that was low bro lol i see you dude
What a time to be alive. Unfortunately unemployed and in a lull
Make another version of the Drone !!! Awesome!!!
omg ! is like the baby ratel 2 at night!! xD
Love where technology is at in this passion hopefully the government doesn't ruin it.😂
You should try adding a cheap ip camera IR led ring on the drone to check wether the night vision improves.
Bubby sounded like Sasuke after he unlocked his third tomoe in his sharigan. "I Can See!"
The image circle might not be big enough on some lenses for the pro camera sensor also you might find the pro lens is a very wide aperture.
You also can put wider angle on 4:3 so you have more side to side and up and down :-D
this is amazing1Icant wait to actuallywin and get to fly one ofryor branded and builtquads of my own......and amdefinetlyneeding a rotorriot toolkit
Did @LeDribFPV ever swap the lenses on this camera (mentioned at 30:00 min mark)? Would love to see a follow up video with mod.
Fresh water? In the news today... "A florida man eatten by a gator testing a FPV drone... Ken back to you!"
Being able to fly at night is crucial in the winter time when it's darker earlier.
@LeDribFPV Is that an FPV themed This Old Tony shirt? Love it!
Pro all day long.....and night😜🤣👊👊😎👌
Just buy both, one for day and one for night. Kids make choices, grown-ups buy everything!😀
all this talk about swapping the lens, does Drib no realize that wider lens means more fish eye and distortion? It's not REALLY the same as a 4:3 camera. Just a substitute with more image distortion.
3:15 "Pre-vail-unt" Drew said prevalent like Sal.💀
the 4x3 cam makes even more sense if using the Avatar VRX with HDO2 or Skyzone goggles.
Night time I go to churches lol they are lit up and no one messes with you. I went to one right outside of Orlando and I saw multiple cars pull in when I was flying. Thought nothing of it and when I left u drove past them and it was three cop cars lol. They must have been watching the whole time lol
have you tried adding a black light (night vision)?
The 4:3 sensor on the V2 was meant to be able to process through Gyroflow, to achieve that "fake" superview by stretching the 4:3 image on both sides. Just like what you do with GoPro 4:3 footage.
per JB testing the avatar V1 micro camera is slightly better low light than the standard 4/3 v2 camera.
I know what I might be buying next
My Runcam Polar flies really well in the dark conditions.
the new usb-c dongle is whatever for drones but its great for fixed wing guys who maybe cant get to the vtx in a plane. now just hot glue the type C and plug it in when you want to access
Got get the low light setup for a 3" or 3.5" to use at night
also, og runcam split could fly in this kind of light... think the lens we used was 165deg, still lost a little vertical fov as i said.
Interesting, as Sony A7 photographer since it came out, it's very recognizable that this is a sony sensor. The dynamic range on these is pretty big and the noise floor is pretty low. The way the sky is displayed is excatly how I am able to recover it when I edit my Sony raw files. There is def. some post processing going on as you can notice the sky coming in and out depending on what the brigtest lightsource is. Some kind of threshold gets triggered and then it boost up the dark and brings it into the visible range again which blew my mind back when I switched from my Canon 5D MkII. Really smart choise by Walksnail, didn't even know you could get sony sensors with the same capabilites from the Full Frame sensors in a form factor like this. Question is, is it the sensor of the A7 series or the A7s series. But really amazing to see that Sony sensors are a thing because if you'd put a 1" sensor or perhaps a tad bigger one in there with a neat lens... please give us Sony-Raw/Log internal recording!? 95% would never need a go pro on their quad. Plus price it as a VTX+Camera+150€ go pro... offer it for 250€ and it'll sell like hot pretzels.
I used to be fine with either 16:9 or 4:3. but once I started flying 3D mode, 4:3 stood out as clear winner.
What was that thing drib was riding on in the water?
Have they added audience mode yet?
Stats like cam angle and batt type and blade type would be nice guys . Thanks!
Im only getting pro cameras. Makes flying at dusk great.
Please do a follow up video about the lens swap. I would love to find that it gives the best of both worlds...full up and down FOV, with added side to side, for free.
You mention share mode???…not on the latest firmware as of this video. Is it in a beta release?
All these clips are from on board recording yes? They look good Is this relatable to the images seen in the goggles? ?
two antennas in digital systems function as signal vectoring system, for directing the signal, thats why the original air unit had more range
All i want is a camera i can switch to thermal and night vision capabilities. Both. Is that too much to ask for in 2023?
You gotta see this quad scootor
I really enjoyed this video especially the low light section. The reactions when the drip put the goggles on and opened his eyes was freaking hilarious. It's like he saw God lol. So I've been in the DJI ecosystem. I purchased some drones with 03 and converted some to the 03 system. Everyone knows how horrible the '03 camera is in low light. But when you look at some of DJI's camera drones with different cameras and lenses, you're able to get good low light video. There has to be a bunch of people complaining about the low light situation with 03. In anyone's opinion, do you think DJI will listen and offer a camera that will work in low light and the 03? Also, will there come a day when other companies can make cameras that work with the '03 air unit
The avatar has on screen betaflight ? How to get this?
Some reason I imagined drib and Bubby long ranging Area 51. Do it!
What about a widescreen lens on a 4:3
Maybe Walksnail is planning on a 4x3 Goggle 🤔
thanks for the information BUT Please use less warp stabilizer.
I wonder if LeDrib wants the wider lens or not
You can consider the fact that is HD video at night to be next level but foxeer figured it out with the cat and cat2 cameras analog it looks about the same
What's that thing he's riding in b the water called?
I think the V2 camera is better. I'm in agreement with Bubby. The Pro is for low light night action. 🌙
Would love to get the raw files to look at.... And the night performance is ridiculous..
That low light camera really takes a nice leap ahead of all the other ones :)
Neeed dis for racing, so i can race at night :D
Drew has one of the most flowy and clean drone style but the most awkward and uncomfortable style on the Efoil. 😂
Damn
can anyone make video with comparison of others lens on pro?
i feel like 16:9 will always give you better spatial awareness, which is important for not crashing, and 4:3 might be slightly better for learning throttle control. but after you've learned the throttle curve and rates of the drone, you don't really need the vertical positioning as much
Why is not compatible with DJI googles?
