how rare, a microphone review without nitpicking
As I recall, did CB radio microphones use XLR type connections?
Just curious, is the XLR cable any good? Is there a need to upgrade to a fancier cable?
That is fantastic! I’ve looked at picking up the ATR-2100 but now I’m thinking this might work for me.
i just got mine upgrade but doesnt work with roland VT-3 :( do i need to get the scarlet,to make the mic works
what is the volume level of the microphone you use in windows?
do you turn your phantom power off before shutting down your PC, and if so do you reduce the gain completely before doing that? Same applies when you turn on your PC, do you first turn the phantom power on again and then higher the gain knob. I really wanna keep everything safe so should I even touch it or turn everything off when unneeded?
I too have this interface, and if you want to better customize the sound that comes out of your mic via EQ, look into something called Equalizer APO. I've been able to make my voice sound a bit less tinny using it through mine and my MXL 990, and you may want to consider getting a 1/4 adapter if you need to and using this as a sound card too for editing-this has a really solid neutral sound profile that with the right kind of headphones (I have a set of beyerdynamic DT 770 80 Ohm cans) can make editing sound for a video or podcast a breeze. I EQed it a bit in EQ APO, but that's a user option. Otherwise, good video, and good part selection!
Awesome video, Michael!
That's exactly my traveling kit! Really great 😁👍🏻 my scarlett, at2020 and my ath m40x
How would you set this up with passive speakers?
Thanks for this video, it answered a very simple question that I somehow couldn't find an answer for online- which is if you need a male to female XLR cable for my particular setup. Glad to know now that the mic itself needs a male input, thanks!
Def finna need this
hey could you suggest a mic stand for this microphone please
I've been considering upgrading from my trusty Blue Snowball I've had for about 6 years to an XLR microphone as well. This setup looks like a good upgrade, I'll be sure to take these devices into consideration. 😊

I have a focusrite sapphire 6 and the at2020 mic, but I’m not seeing any xlr outputs on the interface, do they make xlr chords that could be used for my mic and interface ?
Wow that mic is really cool
Cool bro! Im getting one too so awesome 😎

What's it like for singing vocals?
this At2020 I bought has too much background noise, but how come yours doesn't provide any background noise at all?

Same.
I own a AT2020. I hear the USB version is decent if you're planning to cut corners (why would you do that anyways?), though, you might need a decent mixer with to go with this. I have a pretty basic mixer from Behringer with 1 channel and RCA audio, it's okay, but I would get a bigger mixer, say if were planning to do livestreams and record games. Otherwise, I love the AT2020, it served me well after upgrading from a Blue Yeti.
Can you change the pattern on this mic?
Great video thanks
Another awesome video

for the audio think, you should of gone for a GoXLR or a mini version due to it being better and more easy(er) if you do not know how to use one like that _(it also has background phantom power that comes with the GoXLR or the mini verson)_
what mic stand do ppl recommend for this mic setup?
Does it have mic cable included?
I love your videos man
here before 100 views. sounds amazing, will edit once im done watching it 😂😂 edit: watched it, pretty amazing! use the mic freely! hope it lasts years 😂😂
So this microphone won’t work with a ZealSound S28 audio mixer??? I’m trying and I’m not getting any sound 😤😤
got everything and ofc i get a faulty xlr cable as my first one

could you use the at2020 without the audio interface? Im kinda stuck rn. Tried to use this mic on my desktop, had no luck at all. Used a phantom psu (NW-100) to mixer (zmx 52) and ran a L&R to 3.5m cable to my desktop mic imput.
@StannyObelisk

It really needs that phantom power to work. The usb version doesn’t require any though.
I'd be interested to see a video about Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, an XP-based OS for businesses who wanted a newer OS but still used 9x systems
my mic sounds like im in a fish bowl any way to fix that? I have a power supply for it.
Even though I was just gonna keep it on green, that color changing thing is still fucking cool
Hey how’s it going man! Great video but I had a question about the interface, in the video you didn’t show yourself connecting the interface itself to the computer, I was wondering if there was another cable required to do that or if it’s just a usb that connects the interface to the computer.
@MichaelMJD

The interface connects to your computer using a standard USB cable. It comes included in the box. Hope this helps!

Considering the type of videos on the channel, this audio setup is great. The phone camera quality looks good to me, colors and brightness are all in check. The upgrade to a better camera would mostly be aimed at having a crisper image, since the rest is usually on point.

I like the blue snowball more because it's louder
Damn, now I want to replace my Blue Yeti with this, lol. I think that uses the same capsules as the Snowball, just more of them? I don't know if it's more the mic or more the interface, but there's so much more "room" to your voice using the AT2020. The VU meter LEDs on the interface are great too - you can know where to set the volume without monitoring in any software. Using a single light like that was common on a lot of portable tape machines where they wouldn't have room for a proper needle. Very neat. I've also cross-shopped the Beringer and Focusrite offerings, I don't see any indication the Beringer offers VU metering, so that's a big plus for the Focusrite on top of the build quality. Nice that I didn't notice any high pitched noise on the interface's output either, some reviewers complained about it (probably dirty power from their USB, contaminated with the system bus or something).
