You mentioned that lane assist comes with the trim but it doesn’t. Lane assist is the lights on the wing mirrors, The feature you are referring to is the lane departure warning which is included.

You’re the man for the detail. I’m sending them your way haha. On close inspection it looks dirty but step back and it looks alright. Black attracts the most dirt on a car. Yeah why the S3 comes with so little baffles me. To have everything included on the Edition1, on an S3 would cost a fortune

@@jamesrandall997 lol thanks bro, - I think the s3 is purposefully stripped back to force you to go for a vorsprung. Sad as I sat in one and it honestly felt like a step backwards from the ed1 (the small cockpit is a big no no from me) Don't get me wrong it's a great car, but at 38k+ I would expect more than just an sline with a bigger engine and 4wd. Surprisingly a lot of people don't even opt for the fine Nappa leather seats so actually get the same as our ed1

@@CRD90 Still can’t believe I got the Ed1 with sunroof, Advanced Key, Comfort & Sound, Driver Assistance Pack, Storage Pack for under 30k. If I have everything switched on it literally drives itself! It’s a weird feeling when it speeds round a bend without me steering it.

@@HandyAndyHomer that is a stonker of a deal! Well worth the wait. LOL, when I did the driver assist video I originally filmed it going round the bend with no hands on the steering wheel. I later decided maybe that wasn't wise to post on the internet 🤣 But definitely surprising how well it takes the bends

They are taking so long bc theres some problem with the chip manufacters, this is for everything phones, computers, cars, everything that works with eletronic. BC of covid they cant produce so much chips for this demand. You see it's not only on cars but graphics cards for computers are double the price in second hand... it's absurd

Posted a similar message on CRD's channel but got the new A3 35 TFSI S-Tronic 2 weeks ago but Audi have had it back for 1 of those due to an electrical fault! The warning message said not to drive so booked it in and they can't get the parts now until next week. They reckon they're waiting on a 48V battery. Be interesting to find out if this resolves the issue.

Sounds like the s tronic with the mild battery unit is having a fair few issues

I be buying the 2024 A3 Sportback tfsi in White , chose to go for the one with most feathres as standard, not that much comes as standard . Not getting sunroof as chose to go for upgraded sound & technology pack .

Totally agree with the fact the carplay satnav should be shown on the virtual cockpit, apparently this is down to some licensing restrictions. The auto carplay connect does work without the wireless charger as I noticed it with the tfsi-e I reviewed. Does it annoy you sometimes lol? - when filming I had to do a few takes as I wanted to film something else on the mmi but carplay kept auto-connecting 😂

I didn’t realise that. I was hoping that one day they would do an update to put it on. Doesn’t annoy me too much as it’s the main thing I use. Would be annoyed if it didn’t connect 😂

@@jamesrandall997 lol yeah, I genuinely think they missed an opportunity with the cockpit - it's great, but they could have done a lot more. Like for example not sure if you've noticed we have no way to check the water/coolant temp. The only temp shown is the oil - would have been nice to swap it / customize it

Great video James, I've got my handover tomorrow very excited I've also gone for white Ed.1. I can let you know if mine also comes with 2x USB-C ports instead of 1x USB-A and 1x C like what seems all other A3's on YT have. How are you finding the drive with the 19" wheels, is there much road noise? And along the same lines, how is it in terms of wind noise? Also, you're right the puddles lights do not need to be selected as an option they come fitted with the Audi logo as standard (on Ed.1's) and a spare set are placed in the glovebox, I personally am not a fan of the projection so my dealer has said they swapped the lights for me to puddles like the rear doors and so if I want to at a later date I can swap them back to logos.

I’ve found it ok to be honest. There is obviously road noise with but nothing too major. I have found that on our lovely British roads that it’s a very firm ride so you can really feel the pot holes, however taking a corner at speed,it grips so well. I wasn’t too bothered about puddle lights but I love them now. Very easy to change so test one at night and see what you think. There’s a really nice sline logo in the door frame which lights up at night which looks really good too. Someone has commented saying all new A3 come 2x usb-c ports now apparently

@@jamesrandall997 Yes I'll found out in a trail by fire as such because the section of motorway between me and the dealer is basically rutted honestly it's awful even by British standards so will test the drive selects though it'll be in comfort 90% of the time maybe efficiency for long journeys. In terms of the USB's I'm personally not bothered as USB-C is better and there's always a 12v socket if needed

Hi James I've just ordered my edition 1, should be coming in June, do the wing mirrors have the blind spot assist for when you're driving on a motorway and want to change lanes and the car gives you warning on the wing mirror?

This doesn’t come as standard, you will need to add the drive assist package to get that

That's smart mate ordered a standard S line with Mythos paint flat bottom ambient lighting and Y spoke upgraded alloys kinda regreting not getting an edition one now though haha

Will be a decent car any way mate. I was very close to doing pretty much the same but I got a good deal on the Edition1 at the time. I’ve checked recently and on the terms I have it’s £100 a month more than I pay now

@@jamesrandall997 think I'm going to do the same has you though in terms of the sunroof wanted the comfort and sound but I went to Audi to test the speakers, they are class has standard. so couldn't justify paying it. But may upgrade to the sunroof not sure how much it will add to my monthly though haha.

Nathan Thomas It is a tough choice. Obviously with the bang and olufson sound pack you get park assist and reversing camera as well so I think the camera is the thing that sways people. Think it added just over £30 a month for the sunroof on my 36 month lease

@@jamesrandall997 I’m one of those who selected the C&S pack for the reversing camera and heated seats on S-Line trim. So I effectively paid lots of money for those and got an expensive sound system thrown in “for free” 🤑

Just got a 2022 unfortunately no puddle light at all,😮 something i took for granted it would have..as well as no basic lighting on the doors at night. I knew it didn’t have the light pack but was told it had basic white light, but it didn’t Thought something things would be standard!

All of the latest A3s get two USB C ports and wireless Apple CarPlay regardless of whether the wireless charger is fitted (only Audi knows why 🙂). I’m pretty sure that there’s a difference between the Lane keep assistant that you get as standard and the more advanced version with the driver assistance pack. The standard version gently guides you back into lane if you wander to close to the edge. The more advanced version keeps the car centred in the lane and basically (together with the adaptive cruise control) allows the car to pretty much drive itself (though the driver has to keep their hands on the steering wheel). (It also takes over and brings the car to a safe stop if it senses that the driver is unconscious.) Matrix lights are the best option and a must have for me 😁. The ability for the headlights to stay on main beam when there’s other cars nearby is a game changer for night driving, especially on unlit dual carriageways.

Does yours have auto seats setting? I seen 2 buttons on the door just asking because I've been told the tfsi don't come with it I've ordered my vorsprung in white delivery end of May start of June

Yes it has the memory function setting. There was issues with the s tronic 35 Tfsi not having electric seats but as far as I’m aware that’s been sorted. It does state on website that s tronic doesn’t come with memory function but manual does

Great video , the interior looks great at night, did you add the puddle lights as extras ? I will be doing the same taking the letters off the back and changing the rings to black , I thought the heated seats where standard , will see when I get mine as I havnt gone for any extras , not bad mpg either, as I'm coming from diesel focus st , carry on with the videos very informative

Hi Steve. Yes, it looks amazing at night, spent ages going through all the different colours haha. The heated seats are standard on the Edition1 but under the configuration on Audi it says they come with the bang and Olufson pack, so just wanted to ensure people are aware they will get them. Also I didn’t add the puddle lights as an extra and they were installed any way and from seeing other people on you tube, they have also had them without adding them as an extra. I removed the lettering this evening which looks good. Also want to black out the Audi rings

To be honest mate I’m not sure. It’s not an option I’ve come across in the settings. I will check it out and get back to you. Would be good if you could as it’s a great place to store your phone but when your battery is already 100% there’s no need for it

Wow, what reason have they given for it being so long? Mine was pretty much 6 months exactly from order. Have you got extras or something that they are struggling to get parts for?

@@jamesrandall997 The have blamed COVID and Brexit. Extras I’ve had are the sunroof. Comfort and sound pack and smart key. Turbo blue as well so nothing I’d imagine would hold it up. Just annoying now. First date was November. Then December. Then January. Then March and now April. Just keeps getting moved along.

As far as I’m aware you only get the mild hybrid system if you get an automatic. So mine won’t have it as it’s manual

You should have got the S-tronic box... Lane assist is dangerous at slip roads...

I didn’t. However I didn’t ask either as planning on putting a private plate on. I wasn’t given the option any way

The 1.5 TFSi engine on an A3 has all the power you need. Unless you wish to consistently carry heavy loads and still have the pull or you want to drive aggressively. With respect to the latter that kind of driving is likely going to get you into one form of trouble or another.
