Every welder review should include a guts review also I applaud this guy for that, most welder reviews just literally point the whip at you and say blah blah 😅, would love the guts of the comparison of the yes welder to this one ☝️
Great review man. I just picked up one of the welders myself after watching a lot of the reviews on KZread. Your review is definitely one of the most thorough ones out there but there's a few items you got wrong in it. 1. The actual cable wire for the work clamp is copper clad aluminum wire unfortunately (another cost savings move by ArcCaptain). It's better than plain aluminum wire but not as good as pure copper. 2. You can't use a TIG pedal with this welder. The auxiliary input port on the front is for a spool gun control for aluminum MIG welding. 3. This welder can't do pulse MIG welding. The welding mode you called "pulse MIG" is actually a spot weld function where you can dial in a preset weld time length which is great for stitching work on body panels. It doesn't pulse the arc amperage though

how you know lots about welders!
Fine video identifying the Positive and negative, I'm glad you pointed out the amp max out at 150 amp. Another video using an amp meter said the same. I think you should've demonstrated all the modes stick, tig hand and the foot pedal, aluminium mig.
When you keep thinking more heat more heat. Maybe you need to be thinking less wire, less wire.
I know plenty of people have these and love them even many other welders tried them and gave great reviews and are still using them in there shops and taking them out on jobs
I'm really digging the calendar. 😂
An aesthetic vision more than technical.
You should do a review on the azzuno 250
Spent 8 years in China. Everyone under 35 can speak English so most likely they see no need for a Native a speaker proofreader. These “typos” are very common. Every student in China studies English in school.
Great review video,For the money I paid 360$ Amazon deal it’s worth it, how long will it last don’t know, design is minimalistic, the choice of using aluminum buss bars for grounding and positive connections is not ideal, it does not have pulse mig those dots mean spot welding, some say it doesn’t have vrd protection, Igbt only rated for 200 max amps some have only tested 160-180amps max, clamped, build quality is decent but the buss bars need to be upgraded to copper or use copper wires to upgrade, for the price point it’s good, drive system is great, if you need a good welder and your tight on a budget and need more than 120-140 amps your 120v can give this is one step above as far as power levels, I say get it for 375$ anymore then save a bit longer and more and step up to yes welders, for what it is at its current price it’s a good deal, just wish it was designed with more than 4 50 amp igbts and actually pushed to its advertised rating of 200 amps and copper buss bars instead of cheap aluminum, some people have had issues with the aluminum buss bars shorting out or come loose on other Chinese welders, a lot of the choice components were chosen to fit it to a certain price point but the false advertising is a big knock on it and build quality is left to be desired aluminum buss bar’s copper clad aluminum wires for ground clamp, I’ve upgraded added additional copper 4ga to the aluminum buss bars to limit the losses and maybe upgrade the ground clamps and wire to copper when it burns out or at a later date, if the unit lasts I’ll probably upgrade them, for now it’s ok and it will stay, better deal than titanium mig 170

Try to up the setting of the wire to maximum, if you are in synergetic, at 240V - see if that will get you the 200A ?
Is it just me, or are you mig welding on DCEN? It looks like your ground is under the MIG whip. I think that's the positive terminal. If so, you might want to test it again. NBSWELDING ran that thing like he stole it, and it performed really well.
this tip isn't actually a pain in my few weeks of owning. if you twist it in a reserve thread pattern while pulling back, it comes off quiet easily.

I can't believe yours says Model , mine says Mode , lol
For a guy looking to weld, but wanting a good one, what do you recommend? My options I was thinking of: arccaptain, Vulcan, and the Eastwood mp 200i.

eastwood.
Easy fix for the typo on the mode button spelled "Model"; get a fine point black Sharpie and put a dot under the "l". Now it is clearly "Mode!" And don't you forget it! 😁
That was not a Tig pedal connector. Its for a spool gun.

You are correct and they just sent me the spool gun to try. That will most likely be my next video.
What do you think. I can’t decide between The arccaptain mig 200 or the Yeswelder mig 205ds? at this time the arccaptain is about $50 bucks more. What do you recommend having used and opened up both?

Yeswelder 205 7 day's a week and twice on Sunday. Much better engineered machine. BTW I have discount codes for both "trialnerror".

@@Trialnerror just the comment I was looking for
off topic but how do you like the NO Name brand batteries on the dewalt??
@Trialnerror
9 ай бұрын
They are OK. The best option is the Waitley by far. They last about 80% of the stated amperage but cost 60% LESS than the Dewalt so you're still ahead of the game. I've tried a bunch of the knockoffs and the Waitley are the only ones that are clearly better than the rest IMO.
150 A max..?? Were you connected to 120V outlet? I would think it can do 200A at 240v outlet..
@scottcarr3264
Жыл бұрын
Another reviewer, said it maxed out at about 180 Amps on most processes, but got full 200 in the TIG mode. (probably Both those at 240 volts.)
@R.Stridstrom
Күн бұрын
@@scottcarr3264 i think you need to set it to maximum wire thickness at 240V to get the full 200A output. But i also think thats in synergetic-mode, so it could perhaps be set manually too. Dont know. I have just bought one. Not even set it up yet. My bro is a pipe welder, amongst other things, and he stick-welded me a mighty fine and thick (stainless) stand for a Tormek (grinder) the other day, with it. Straight from the box. Just went for it. Very good welds. I have seen impressive MIG (MAG) welds with it on video too. Auto/synergetic mode straight on. I just wish it had a better TIG-section, foot control and so on. But hey - thats what brothers are for, huh ? By the way, i also picked up the better of their welding helmets. Bro had hos thought on that one too. Really good, he said. At least first "impression" - he had a Viking with him, and he prefferred the Arccaptain by a long shot. (He left his spare Viking with me) What about the fitting on the head then, and so on ? He said it was the best he had tried, so far. At his job he have one worth 1600USD. He was genuinely suprised. But take it for what its worth, barely tested. Probably great price/performance. Thats what i am looking for.
Looks like a rebranded YesWelder if you ask me
@Trialnerror
21 күн бұрын
I can see that for sure. But, I've reviewed quite a few YesWelders and can promise, this isn't a rebrand. Yeswelder is a step above, not a big step but withought question, not a rebrand.

did you keep the machine or you return back? because they sended me a used and someone opened. don't open stuff if you're not keep it. because there's someone else going to buy. please.

I kept it but that issue isn't on the person returning it, it's on the seller selling used stuff.

I'm literally just over two minutes in and all I've pretty much heard is complaining. I'm not even sure how you came up with your ratings till these two minutes and some or what your comparing it to price point. I've welded with a top of the line Lincoln for the past 6 years that cost $26 grand and this being a welder for like $700 it's a 10/10 all around... Now back to your video

mig is always with gas. That's what the G stands for. There is no such thing as gasless mig. It's called FCAW flux core arc welding
@Trialnerror
Жыл бұрын
Well if you want to get in the weeds of an argument.... FCAW creates an inert shielding gas, so technically its creating a metal inert gas...
@kcstott
Жыл бұрын
@@Trialnerror You need a chemistry lesson. The shielding gas the flux creates is far from Inert. and it's not the gas thats shielding the weld it's the liquidious flux. you're living up to your channel name though. Lots of errors in your trials.
Bro, next time take that naked woman out your background so i can focus on the review. Thank you!
