    It's certainly a challenge for many. During normal breathing, there is no resistance, and air flows down the pressure gradient from high pressure to low pressure. With PAP therapy, extra effort is required during exhalation because the air is flowing against the gradient.

    My f30i mask has good enough venting that it is hardly noticeable to exhale against the pressure. Having said that, my pressure to keep my airways open is only 5cm of water. What does reel really good, is having my airways remain patent and uncollapsed due to the constant pressure being delivered to my airways.

  • @dannycbooker239
    @dannycbooker239 Жыл бұрын

    Hey NIck!! I totally agree with you!! Marsh's products do look misleading. I have no problem inhaling and exhaling with my ResMed 11 and the ResMed AirMini. In fact, I enjoy it's breathing assistance so much, I have to make myself get out of bed in the morning because using it is so relaxing!! Please note: I do take issue with your suggestion of the SomnoMed device though. I am in the dental field and tried it for about 4 yrs until I got on my CPAP. Every morning, it takes about a half hour for your jaw to reset because the device puts you in a protrusive bite. Plus, at some point your TMJ will start to have discomfort from you joint up into your ear. Adjusting the device does no good. Under adjustment does nothing to help your snoring. And even when properly adjusted, you will still snore some during the night. Enough to get a good kick from your spouse!! And after a few years, my TMJ would click every time I chewed my food at the dinner table. After several months using my CPAP, the TMJ and joint clicking have finally gone away!! Thanks for your work in the field to help everyone get a good nights sleep!!

    Cheers for the feedback mate. I have some good friends who use SomnoMed devices and some of my dads mates do also. Not everyone get's TMJ and for many, it's a great solution. That vid was not a paid promo and it's important patients have some alternative treatment options. Appreciate your thoughts none the less. Cheers

    Even before you said it, I was watching this and thinking, "The only way anyone would buy into this this is if they had absolutely zero understanding of APAP or BiPAP." Sadly there are probably many people out there who haven't had their OSA treatment properly explained to them or maybe struggled to understand the explanation. All these people do know is that they find their whole situation depressing, overwhelming and difficult, and that makes them an attractive target for a slick salesman to come along talking a lot of nonsense. 😕

    Less than one minute in, I call BS, at least if you have a ResMED machine. If you can't "breath out" your machine is not set properly. In fact, thanks to the tips I've learned from Nicko, I just breathe normally. Sometimes, when I awake in the morning, I forget I even have it on.

    No one is willing to deal with a little short term discomfort (adversity) anymore. When I first started using CPAP 20 plus years ago it was not at all fun or comfortable. I didn't get through a night without ripping the mask off for at least the first six weeks, but I always put it on again the next night. Eventually I put it back on in the same night. At some point in the next few months I started being able to sleep through the night with out taking the mask off. Try try try try try try try try again and again and again..........

    I put this comment into the video where it belongs but I wanted you to see it here in case you don't look at comments from old video's I had to comment about the Tap Pap mask you talk about "Tap Pap" more like "Top Crap" LOL the mouthpiece you use to hold it in place does not work at all when you go to sleep it falls right out. They used to sell headgear for this product but they stopped selling it. I don't know why the idiots stop selling it but they did so now mine went into the garbage and I'll never buy something like this again on the other hand the FitLife full face mask you're showing on that video works great for me no leaks no claustrophobia nothing just total comfort and it only took 10 to 15 minutes to get used to it. HOWEVER I had to get a large mask with a small headgear weird right? Anyway I will be getting more of these soon and never going back to any other mask.

    I got 1 of each - a.motorised 1 & a non-motorised 1 - & the only problem I thought I could identify with either of them was personal. First, one of my nostrils is so buggered up I couldn't fit them in deeply enough for them to be securely mounted. As well, I kinda assumed that I must move around in my sleep too much for them to stay in. From reading these criticisms, I guess I can go back to my previous attitude that I sleep like a log! Oh well, a waste of money maybe, but not much.

    Hi Steve, i think the control box does something else; actually, perhaps it controls the level of pressure relief but either way, removing or heavily reducing the EPAP is a bad move. He also wants $600 a piece. Can almost buy a whole cpap for that. Anyway, i highly doubt we will ever get to see it. Perhaps i'll ask if he can send me a 'prototype'

He does sure look like an inventor though and he's got some great marketing material . Got another bubba on the way too! Going to be another busy year . Hope you're doing well

Saw the email saying I can buy a "smart mask" at a significantly reduced price if I convert my current voucher to the new device that he says will come out sooner than the original airing device. Here's the kicker. I have 24 hours to decide.🤔 NO THANK YOU. I'm hoping to be a part of a lawsuit someday bankrupting these people. I don't care if I get my 20 dollars back.

    I followed this "fund raising' campaign back in '15 and left comments (as did many others) pointing out what a scam this was and the campaign kept running and people kept investing. Important to note. . . these are not retail sales. they are investments in development with no obligation to supply good. The same is true of everything offered on Indiegogo and Kickstarter. I got burnt on an indiegogo campaign for a smart watch (which apparently never existed) that when it was obviously a scam, still did not get shut down. I will never pledge on Indiegogo again. . .I'm still OK with Kickstarter. Anyone with half a brain could see that the airing could NOT possibly work. . .and it was disposable too.

    Did he invent the QTube muffler? I bought one to try and quiet my travel AirMini and it's just a plastic tube with nothing in it. $35 flushed down the tube hole. I bought an inline bacteria filter and put a couple of pieces of loose gauze in it and it's a great muffler. $6.

    @@CPAPReviews True. The filter is a ball shape and I had to push the gauze to the sides of the ball to keep the air moving comfortably. It does seem to muffle some of the vibration noise, as does using a hose wrap. The darn Minis are LOUD.

    Man, I see ads for copies of the Airing micro-device (battery powered) all over social media and report every one. I'm starting to think the actual Airing is a scam as well. It's been a couple years since he's updated his website. I don't see how something that small can generate that much pressure. I never sent him any money but I've been casually following with interest to see if he ever got a prototype going. I've never seen this device until this video - I guess he's moved on to a new scam.

    I believe a micro cpap is possible, but not like that cheap pos nose clip. It would be more like what Bane in Batman wears. When that Airing first came out, I was like, who the hell would think that could possibly work? But, there is a sucker born every minute. As for better masks that help with the exhale, I think that is a waste of money too. That needs to be addressed with the machine, perhaps a second micro blower that sucks when you exhale so there is zero to negative back pressure. The problem with that, there would be a delay in the hose to get the pressure back up to the amount needed for therapy. There is definitely a need for a better mask and better machines, but when there are billions of dollars on the line, there will always be scammers.
