Is it mandatory for a spouse to take the lituk for naturalisation, despite being married to a UK citizen, working for 25 years, and having ilr?

Still too many loopholes with all the exceptions listed as still remaining.

It was not clear for me from when It will change from 5 years to 12, so if I am already 4 years here am I having to wait for 12 years or is for who just arrived?

citizenship for foreigners counts for nothing.. if you are a foreigner and acquired citizenship by birth or via long stay it is just a face value... your citizenship can be revoked at any time... only those who are typical English, Scottish Welsh and Northern Irish are exempt cos that is their country... anyone else has roots from another country.. Shemima Begum born and raised in UK and with UK citizenship has her citizenship revoked and now in Syria... If you get indefinite leave to remain you there pretty much have similar freedom as a citizen so why bother getting citizenship when you know very well it's just a symbolic act and holds no value..

ILR have an expiring date. If you spend two years out of UK your ILR freezes and you need to open a new process proving that you intend to live in UK.

I did my university education there, five years. Have no desire to visit nor to live in England. What I like to see, is that they too are blocked from visiting Middle Eastern countries, closing their embassies/spy centres.
