I got a nice sulphury lava rock with me home when I went two weeks ago. I guess it's from the Reykjanes Fires 800 years ago, as it was in an old lava field close to the volcano. And I of course have a rock from Fagradalsfjall 2021 as well.

Sulphur says it all. I visited the Geldingalir lava flow last year, and our wonderful guide gave me a bit of bubbly yellow stained rock which I shall treasure for as long as I live. 14 trips to Iceland in over 20 years.... Passionate about the place

To me these changes in the 'lava-scape' are just as fascinating as the eruption. I would love to see weekly or monthly vids of the aging lava from all of these eruptions.

Beautiful video and editing. Was this from the May 2024 eruption or one of the earlier eruptions. The sulfur deposits are amazing colors. People who wonder why they are not allowed to go close to the eruption in progress should see how much sulfur was coming out with the lava.

Hard to describe the scale but the fist "gold shot" was like a metal from the ground, those are small rocks

Beautiful stuff, Gylfi, and perfect music. Too bad you can’t claim this new land by landing there… 😎 You could always rig up your drone to drop off little signs “Gylfi was here first” at the nicest spots of new land. 😉. Or “Save the Polar Swans!” 😂😂

The structure of the solidified lava at the vent opening is very intriguing. I find the cooling and solidification process of the lava to be very interesting.
