I hope this new QuadTec II cutterhead is better. I was an early adopter of the PX12 and was disappointed in its quality and performance in my KZread video review. Getting a refund from my local woodcraft from the recall you issued has been going on for half a year. They said communication with you has been a pain but that’s another story altogether. Anyway I want to try this new iteration but how do I know I’m getting the latest? Seller sites linked on your website are selling refurbished ones, others aren’t consistent with listing QuadTec II specifically in their description, or the link is just plain broken.

Now if they had this in 220V WOW

After doing some research on this planer, I found this planer had an issue with the cutter head leaving marks and planing uneven, was this ever fixed?

Yes they did! It was a few of the very first units that had this issue, but now with the improved Quadtec II head, it's a champ! I have one and love it!!

Yes we have, our PX|12's now come with the Quadtec ll Cutterhead that provide smooth finishing cuts, as shown in the video!

Is this planer discontinued?

Interested. I sold my Dewalt DW735X because I could not get rid of the snipe.

This planer has an almost invisible snipe. As well, I use sacrifice boards in front and back of the stock as it goes over the table. I'm very happy!

@@deepfriedectoplasm I had to do that same with my Dewalt. After watching many reviews online, it appears that this units isn’t that great. A lot of issues with it in the past.

Not really, there were a few first units that needed an adjustment, but Laguna fixed it overnight basically, so any bad review is sort of sad because this is a great machine, and did I mention it has a segmented cutter head with individual knives? Goodbye flat knife sets!!!! @@gusgusnft8231

As an existing Laguna customer I trusted that this new version solved the issues with the original so I got up early and drove through snowy weather this morning to pick one up from my local distributor. Got it home and sure enough, it’s the original version of the planer! All the manuals, model number and marking on the cutter head are QuadTec I. How is this still happening in 2024? Very disappointed, the manufacture date was 09/2023. Now I have a wasted long weekend I can’t get my project done.

@@LagunaTools thank you, I heard back from the support team this morning confirming the same, so far so good on the tests I’ve done since the call! Kudos for the speedy response and support. Just wish it had been clearer in the manual, packaging or even just a sticker on the box to indicate that it was a refurbished unit and not the new model (even if they are functionally identical).

@@LeighHart I just got mine delivered yesterday and have the same issue everything is labeled quad tech1. what did they say that led you to confirm it was quad tech2?

@@LagunaTools can you provide the details that confirmed you have a quad tech 2? I received mine a couple of days ago and it doesnt have the cutter head as shown one the video here. how can I confirm its the quad tech 2 even though everything i was sent doesnt confirm that.

@@ericemilyorellana3289 they said the existing stock was retrofitted with the correct inserts and it was functionally identical to qt2. I needed to get going on the project so took their word for it and I am happy with the results. None of the issues seen! I’m very happy with the unit.

Where are the extension tables? Laguna product description: "The pull-out extensions and flip-down extensions make it easier to feed stock through the machine." So, in addition to the flip-down extensions, which we obviously see, there should be pull-out extensions. Where are they? None of the pictures, nor the videos, have even so-much as hinted at this allegedly included feature.

Hi, the verbiage on the product description was a mistake on our part. To clarify, there are no pull-out extensions, but only flip-down extensions. You can see the extensions being flipped down at the 0:28 mark of the video. We will also reflect the clarification of this feature on our website. Thank you.
