So guys as we predicted on RBR, this is the new #MercedesAMG #E53 4Matic+, and it’s powered by the updated 6 cylinder that we saw in the gorgeous CLE 53! But here it’s far more powerful with up to 612BHP thanks to the hybrid system. That means an electric motor and battery pack, giving us both power and 100km of electric only range!!
The Design is impressive - it’s designed more like the E63 used to be, than the E53 series was. That means we have a wider track with flared arches, and increase of 11MM per side. The front is an all-AMG front end, with Illuminated AMG grille as standard on all models. The lower bumper is also completely new for the e53, with much more aggressive #AMG intake design.
There’s more too - 21inch new mulit-spoke style wheels debuting here, bigger AMG sills, a new side wing with AMG grille, and typical Quad pipes and diffuser on the rear. All in all, a no holds barred AMG design. The E53 Wagon/Estate is here too, in a base spec with chrome trims. Our saloon has an AMG dynamics pack that we will explain in the vide.
The new E 53 4MATIC+ uses an upgraded version of the 3.0-litre M 256 inline six-cylinder turbo engine. The facelift of the engine is designated M 256M has 20HP more at 450HP, then we have the Hybrid side! Which takes it further with a permanently excited motor inside the transmission giving 135HP more power, and 480nm torque! So that’s a total of 585BHP, 750NM and a 0-60 of 4.0.
But get the AMG Dynamic Plus Pack - and this is improved to 612 on Race Start, and 0-60 of 3.8!!
The benefit of that system, is the battery. 28kw in size, 21kw usable: it can give up to 100km all electric range. This is a figure become more and more important to buyers, as interest in EVs begins to dry up worldwide. You have the usual D+, D and D- driving modes from the EV cars too. But then the car weighs 2.4 tonnes thanks to the hybrid system - let's see if it’s worth the penalty in the future.
4Matic Plus means 100% variable power between the front and rear, with an Electromechanical clutch control controls power between the front and rear axles. Sadly, no drift mode in this, even with the additional dynamic plus pack!
Suspension wise, we have a Wide track independent front suspension and a modified stiffer rear frame. Of course this is the AMG ride control suspension, with an extremely sporty spring/damper set up and 2 valve damping at each wheel, for rebound and compression. Should make it both comfortable and sporty! Particularly with rear axle steering of up to 2.5 degrees
The brakes are clever too: they feature an Electromechanical brake servo, which combines normal braking with recuperation for the EV battery up to 120kw worth!
The interior is amazing, New AMG bucket seats, AMG specific driver and middle screens, and a super cool AMG only wood trim with illuminated logo in the standard screen set up.
The AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package is a must have for the serious enthusiast: Along with the faster Race Start, we have an E Diff, active engine mounts, larger brakes and an upgraded steering wheel.
Today we will also compare this to the old E53 of 213 gen, the old E63, and look at the market rivals like the new BMW 5 series.
Generally, it’s a huge leap forward, but is this partly because we won’t be getting an E63? So far not a single mule has been spotted, and zero talk from insiders other than whispers of a return in a future facelift. My prediction? A V8 could come back eventually, but for now we have a very handsome hybrid as the top of the range car.

Exactly and the best part about not going for the passenger screen is that the trim with the lighted AMG logo comes as standard, so money saved by going for the better look!

@@jalis812-gaming6 It has been, but with varying power outputs and features for 53 models it seems to make sense to apply it here too? Although maybe not, as the higher output is only available in this case through race start. Either way the nomenclature makes less sense every product launch, as now the E53 in any form makes more power than a new SL55, SL63, and GT63 😂

@@SamAbraham E53 is on par with SL55 and SL63 is faster in 0-60 and also SL63se is arriving this summer with 800hp which will eventually replace standard SL63. GT63se is also available.

@@jalis812-gaming6 0-60 means nothing these days when an electric pickup truck can do 0-60 in 2 seconds lol. A hybridized 6 Mercedes 6cyl is not on par with a handbuilt twinturbo V8. Also, its the SL63 E performance, there is no SL63S. It will not replace the SL63 but be sold alongside it, sort of as a 65 replacement.
These look really nice!! The ambient lighting make it seem like you are changing the color of the interior stitching on the go and gives that interior totally different vibes by colour! If the pricing is not too crazy, this should outsell the current C63.

That Wagon is beautiful. Best Interior for the E-Class and plenty of Power. Honestly if Amg prices this cheaper than the new M5 i could see a huge market for this car. 585 HP is enough for 99% of People. And People love Inline 6 Engines when Bmw does them! Why not in an E-Class. I think it fits quiete well.
For all those that will probably never drive one. I was given one off these as a courtesy car, this thing is BALLISTIC! HAVING OWNED a 2018 E63s this feels soo nimble and the hybrid element means it accelerates unnaturally!! 🤣😂🤣 Had i not driven 1, i’d hate too! Its needs a Exhaust system for sure. Its sounds promising in Factory too 🤷🏽♂️

@@boukm3n friend i am just telling you what i experienced. 99% who purchase these or the v8’s don’t really use them for the track. So in the real world the 1 second difference is irrelevant.

front kind of reminds me of rhe amg one but on a amg e class which I love also the fact that they atleast went back to a 6 cylinder instead of the 4 is a bit nicer but everyone would prefer the v6 atleast but the amg deserves the v8

I disliked the C-Class as well but it grew on me with ownership. I got the non-AMG for a stately feel. White with tan interior and plenty bells and whistles.
Whats the power in pure EV mode? That makes a huge diff.

Great vid as norm, though the prev E53 had 451 bhp, not 429, I actually think it's a shame that the E53 has gone to plug in hybrid from mild hybrid, as someone who'd go for the estate, I would swap the loss of 150L of boot capacity for about 500bhp, especially if there is to be an E63. As E63 is bound to be a plug in hybrid as well, I think it a shame that you won't be able to get a Amg E class wagon with the full capacity boot.

Happy its a 6 cylinder still. That plastic around the grill still looks odd. I guess one could get it body or chrome colored/ wrapped. Also a fan of the standard screen setup vs the 3 screen option. That estate has a nice booty.
Some lean years ahead for AMG.

The front end looks good in certain colors and with the AMG styling now Crazy they would eliminate the E63. That might have been the best bang for buck Mercedes ever made Tuned to like 800HP that thing could be a monster or a daily

Looks miles better than current G60 5er i donot know m550i is going to come but till now this E53 looks better than G60 5er ,looks elegant and sportier at the same time .For a E53 612 bhp with v6 hybridised engine is more than enough considering current emissions are going.
