New American MTB Company? Interviewing Mooney Esk8 at Esk8Con 2024!

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I interview Jonny Mooney from Mooney Esk8! I got a chance to take a short look at his prototype mountainboard offering, and I'm excited to see an American small business providing a product that I love to ride!
Sorry about the focus / audio quality issues, and shoutout to @ Carlos Suriel for shooting this video for me.
I've been riding my mountainboard for a couple years now, and I've always loved the experience, even for street riding. The comfort of the Haero bro deck, large tires, and PKP trucks always kept me coming back to it.
This Mooney Esk8 mountainboard is slated to have an 18s battery, Newbee RTKP trucks, SKP solo escs and an awesome custom deck.
Stay tuned for more Esk8con 2024 content!

Awesome video! Thank you so much. I noticed I accidentally said maple on the deck but it is actually bamboo with carbon fiber on the bottom! Other than that, everything in there is great!

I like seeing 3D printed parts. When done right they allow for far more freedom than being locked to a mold. 3DP all the way, this also gives the rider the ability to repair the board or even create add ons to current setups. I have been one to prove to reddit and many others that you can print quality gears that go beyond 35mph and hold up over time. Just depend on the material and the time you take fine tuning your machine for the results desired. IE: defaults never work since everyone is a special piece. Thus NylonGlass is a Go to for most parts on my Skate and seems to be the same material used on most of my power tools!

I totally agree I've done awesome things with my 3d printed stuff, enclosures, interfaces, etc. You really can do a lot if you design properly and use the right materials. Excites to see where Mooney goes with this tho!

What brand and size are those tires? Look like race slicks. I'm sure their for racing speed and prolly wear out much quicker than standards but I wonder how comfortable they are to ride on for commuting. Great video again!

They're a specific gokart tire, I'm not sure what brand they are. I believe they're 8x3 tho. They seem real nice. The ones on his display model, the low profile ones, were xcell rs tires
