New Alpine Subwoofer R2-DB8V-TRK unboxing, assembly, and impression. The wait is over!
After over a year of waiting for this enclosure I finally got my hands on one. It’s a truck sub enclosure that is modular to fit many different vehicles. It can be ordered in either S-Series or R-Series subwoofers. It has an integrated amp rack and can be expanded in width. Watch me go through the assembly and see it in my 2017 F250.

I was very happy with it, then someone broke in to my truck and stole it. I haven’t decided if I should buy it again or try something else.
I’m thinking about getting one, but I fear it won’t provide the amount of bass I’m looking for. I’m not looking to compete, but I’d prefer to have more bass than I need. So far there just aren’t enough customer reviews for me to feel confident in making the purchase. I was thinking about going with the JL Audio Stealth Box which has great reviews, but also has a hefty price tag. I’d hope this box could perform close to that level.

I would say it performs as good as a vented 10” on similar power. Probably a little more output than a sealed 10” or slim sub in either vented or sealed.

I had a stealth box tw5v2. Great bass, but not enough. I went to two in a custom box and it was great.

I purchased one along with the amp and speakers, getting installed in my 2021 Chevy RST. Will do a review on my channel.
Did you have any issues with rattling coming from the ported sides?

Actually on my second one, my first one from the video got stolen, but my second one I think the magnet of the woofer for the right side enclosure was hitting the wood by the magnet and making a rattle at higher output. I ended up pulling the sub and putting some closed cell foam between the magnet and the wood that seemed to solve it. No issue with the first one from the video.
Wondering if you could post or reply the dimensions of one of the boxes. Alpine tech support doesn’t have them, Crutchfield doesn’t…just trying to verify fitment for my truck?

I’ll try tomorrow. They are adjustable for width so if you have some room under your back seat they should fit most trucks. I think alpine used to have a list of all of the trucks they fit.

If you look at the owners manual on crutchfield the last page has some fit suggestions.
Does it come with an amplifier?

No. It can fit the alpine S or R series amps in the middle part but amp is not included.
4 ohm subs wired to 2 ohm
