    Hi Danny, would be nice if you could make a comparison video between this and the Alpaka Metro Backpack. Both have almost the same capacity. Thanks

    This looks like a great option for carrying less than a full pack. Daily carry for me easily fits in a 13L pack.

    water will be retained on the open side pocket if it doesn't have drain holes. there's no organizational pockets on the slanted front pocket, which is a bummer, lack organization on small/tiny stuff. Informative and useful review.

    Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I can’t say the simplified a frame stood out too much compared to the daily and daily plus but the bag didn’t sag when I had it loaded out so it seems like it works

    Hi, great detailed video as usual. I disagree about the water bottle pocket on the 13. I don’t like bottles and thermoses hanging off the sides of backpacks, unless it’s an outdoor type bag because that’s expected. I very much prefer the hidden exterior bottle pocket of bags like the Daily Plus and the Knack backpack. The bottle pocket implementation on those bags keep the bags streamlined. I think the bottle pockets of bags with the bottle hanging out offer in most cases less security for the bottles that could fall out especially on the more shallow bottle pockets, and I just hate the way that looks. Hidden bottle pocket bags look much better aesthetically.

    I agree about the internal water bottle pocket. If the thirteen had the same style water bottle pocket as the daily plus I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Now I’m torn between the two.

    Thank you for watching and definitely a fair point! I go back and forth on which style I prefer on different bags, I am always a fan of the fact that the pockets you mentioned can be used to store other items securely if you don’t need to carry a water bottle

    Great review! Question - the old Thirteen didn't have an A-Frame. The description for the new bag says it has a "Simplified A-Frame... providing high support under any load." Is this internal? Doesn't look like there is anything on the outside?

I can’t say the simplified a frame stood out too much compared to the daily and daily plus but the bag didn’t sag when I had it loaded out so it seems like it works (I didn’t see any webbing on the inside and didn’t use the previous version to compare to unfortunately)

    @@dannypacks Thank you! I think from what I've read since I asked you, the simplified A-Frame is constructed from the fabric of the bag rather than webbing. Love your channel, always a joy!

    I just received mine today and it’s a bit smaller than I expected. I like the design and all but it just seems too small for my taste. I’ll keep it around for a few days and see if it grows on me but if not, I may exchange it for the Daily backpack.

    Does this pack flatten well enough to serve as a packable bag?

  • @dannypacks

    @dannypacks

    $160 for 13L, whew. I feel like once you get down below 15L that's sling territory, and also territory where durable materials just stop mattering as much

    Unfortunately, the thought of a loaded 15 (or 13 or even 10) liter slightly bag hanging on one shoulder brings up memories of pain. A small backpack like this is likely to be more comfortable when fully loaded during an around-town adventure.
